What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Developing a game in such a popular genre as MOBA is very complicated. We have created a game-play that differs from all other games, and it is very important for us to learn what players think of it - this will enable us to make quick decisions regarding further development of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“From two weeks up to several months, depending on the audience’s reaction to our project.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We'll do our best to offer you more of everything in the final version of the game - more opportunities for team work, more skins, unique arenas, and new heroes. However, we hope that communication with our players will give us new ideas.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully functional, it is a completed product. We want to see how people will play it and what their reaction will be.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will always be free-to-play, it is our guideline.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our team takes active part in communication in the forum. You can be sure that our game designers read players’ posts and we know of all the ideas the Community offers. The Community’s reaction to the game itself as well as to the changes we will introduce in it is very important for us, and we will closely follow posts in the Community.”

Update 09.12.15

For optimization reasons and in order to decrease waiting time for a game session to start, we have introduces several changes to the gameplay:
1. The “Dragon's Lair” arena is no longer active, its functionality has been turned off completely.
2. Bots can now be included into the game sessions.

Please, be advised that this may result in a longer waiting time for players who sign up for arena as a team. If there are not enough players online, we strongly recommend to sign up for arena not in groups, but every man for himself.

About This Game

Golden Rush is a rather unusual fantasy MOBA for four teams. Here you can become one of the legendary heroes fighting against monsters, dragons, and other adventurers for the treasures of the Golden Lands.

There are no lines or creeps and nexus here. Wealth is your only goal. You are to slay monsters and seize their chests with gold, become invisible, steal treasures from other teams, defend your own gold and triumph in the dynamic fantasy PvP. Four teams make the situation on the map unpredictable: victory, seemingly so close, may slip away in one second. Golden Rush is no place to relax – it's a treasure hunt you have to carry through!

Here's what else you will experience in the game:

  • Level up your hero after choosing one of six basic classes, be it a seductive witch or a furious barbarian.
  • Look for a unique tactics of victory in the new MOBA that is different from all the other ones.
  • Slay hundreds of monsters, defeat bosses and turn into a Bone Dragon that tosses enemy heroes around as if they were puppets.
  • Collect artifacts looted from monsters and assemble unique armour sets.
  • Take part in rating battles and monthly tournaments.
  • Organize well-coordinated teams of friends and fight against experienced opponents.

So i played 1 game, and felt meh right away

First off, The game is only around because Dota 2 and LOL are probably the most famous games right now

Dota 2 is alot better, ive played it at friends places and its just a better game, PLUS Dota 2 is ALOT BETTER AND ITS FREE TOO!!!

Overall theres really no point to play this game, like seriously the game is garbage, i know thats bogus and rude but it really is trash, IF you wanna get this game just dont its a waste of space on your PC... Get Dota 2 its alot better of a game, or Smite

Overall rating 0.5/10

They take the ability-limited genre of MOBAs and lop off yet another character ability, leaving you with 3 whole buttons to push. Pathetic, mind-numbingly bad gameplay is the end result. The few barely-innovations fall short in a game that features out-of-match (e.g. grind) progression and statistically imbalanced teams from the start of every match.

Do not recommend.

This game.... just this game.... it is not the best, no, but you can get some enjoyment out of it. The biggest problem I've had playing this game is the matchmaking. I'm not a very high level and it matches me with people like 5 levels above me who obviously have way better items than I do because they kill me so easily and I barely do any damage. But, I hope we can all agree when I say that the game itself has a good concept, collecting as much gold as possible when there are 4 teams. I see this as unique compared to other MOBAs such as League of Legends or smite. I give this game a thumbs up for the following reason: It can be enjoyed with the right friends. If you play to win and aren't exactly playing casually then this game isn't for you, if you just wanna play a game cuz it's a game then yeah, play this game!

EARLY ACCESS REVIEW
IF you want to kill some time, looking for something new, something with RPG styled gearing+character progress, bored out of the regular 5v5, where the outcome is decided by the current METa, teammates, you might wanna give it a try

Pros: - every gear/character can be obtained for free.
- easy to learn, causal gameplay (not Dota styled, you get reported/deported if you dont have 4000 hours played already)
- 3v3v3v3, fighting to earn 30k gold first. reminds me dead island:epidemic, even a premade fullgeared team can loose if the 3 other team harrass them
- RPG styled gearing, feels like you actually have a purpose for playing

cons: - only 6 character (early access blablabla)
- set items you find expire in 24 hour. you need to transmute them for back gem, you can get by playing, but do not earn enough tokeep all the greens you found
- early on the gear gap is huge (bad MM, lack of payers)
- until you hit lvl 10 the black gem income is slow
- many leave the match after a few min, they get replaced by a useless bot who gets farmed by other teams
- at early access release you were able to buy full legendary set for 40$
- endgame meta is quite unbalanced (90% of the ranked leaderboard is either archer or mage)

As you can see from the cons the new player experience is bad due to gear gap, but after 20 hours of my paladin im almost full geared without paying a cent:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Talwados/screenshot/396672236073951774
But currently 6 champions is just not enough and matched agaist top10 ranked guys early on, loosing your green items cause you cant transmute them due to lack of black gems, just pure torment.

I'm gonna be honest here, it IS in beta, and of course there will be derpy things happening. The graphics are really nice and I like them. At the moment there are only six DIFFERENT champions, and THREE of them need to be bought with real money, leaving you with three champs that are underpowered compared to the paid ones. The announcer voice is a little weird and bugs out sometimes but is understandable, and the music track itself is really nice. From what I've seen it is a pay to win game at the moment... which is understandable, but still. It is definately not a bad game or a "crap" game as calling anyone's game bad, or crap is really hurtful to the people that have spent days or months working on it and probably trying their best. It's not one of the best games I've played, and I personally don't preffer it to other games at the moment, but I'd say to everyone to give it a try before coming to any conclusions.

This could be a really good game but it is 100% pay to win. I don't see how it would be fun even then. The game will match you against someone who hasn't paid and you will win not because you were good but because you are fighting against someone with no damage in comparison to you and half the amount of defense and health.

Crappy pay2win game with close to non-existant matchmaking and unrewarding gameplay. Literally the worst ARTS I've played.

1) You 'dress' your heroes in items and you can purchase items for real money, making your hero twice as powerful as non-paying players.

2) You buy consumables (health, mana & haste potions) for gold, and if you place 3-4 you don't get enough gold for consumables, making your chances to win next match close to zero, eventually making PAYing real money for them the only answer.

3) You always get matched vs a stack of pay2win players who wreck your team with no cahnce of winning.

4) To unlock ONE hero you need to place 1-2 50 (FIFTY) TIMES with a friend unless you want to cash out $10 for a hero that you'll need to dress in powerful artefacts so you don't lose.

It's a moneygrab and developers are russian. Don't try this game save some time and money.

This could literally be the worst MOBA ever ♥♥♥♥ing released. No joke or exaggeration.

Now before I explain why please let me say I played this game for two straight hours and read the forums and the wikia information about all the heroes as I'm a competitive player. I even purchased the $5 (on sale now for $4) DLC artifact pack. What a surprise, it didn't work. Nothing was added to my account not after relogging, restarting the game and doing the same things again AFTER playing another game.

I played 6 matches, now there is no real "progression" for your character outside of finding random items from killing monster camps during the actual match. Which doubles also as being the main objective, yes there is PvP but participating in this severely slows your ability to score "gold" for your team AKA points and hinders your ability to win.

As far as the item system goes its completely randomized, but its ♥♥♥♥ing terrible after 6 matches I finally found ONE item that was not your typical "blue" magic property item it was an ARTIFACT yellow colored and was a weapon with over 3 times the power of my current blue weapon. The catch was that the artifact found has a 24 hour timer, which after it expires will disappear. Forever. That's right when you finally get loot it goes away on its own magically. Of course UNLESS you spent $5 to buy "black pearls" the games premium currency and "transmute" the artifact to remove the 24 hour cooldown timer on your "found" loot.

So in essence, this is literally the worst ♥♥♥♥ing cash-grab pay to win game I've ever experienced in over 20 years of gaming. Its quite sad becasue the idea of a PvEvP MOBA really sounds unique and appealing. I would've loved to see this game work, sadly its being run by some trashy foreign greedy company with no real insight or clue how to run a successful free to play game.

Give it some time

Pay to win from my understanding, you have to buy abilities. mediocre graphics with some particularly cliche fan servicing and heroes. Recall stripped straight from League. This game has new ideas, but the way it was implimented unfortunately sloppy. I recommend trying this game if you have a few free hours.

I read the positive reviews for this. One guy's pro input was "It has a cute frog" So I guess ringing shiny silver keys in his face is just as effective.

One positive was right about one of the many things, stating "the announcer is annoying"
This is very true, the voice is so annoying that you will inherently cringe to the point of losing respect to who ever they hired to become the announcer for this game.

From when I played first, the objective went something like this: Capture towers that give gold per second, and they deal higher damage than your abilities per hit on enemies that pass by, defeating the purpose of wondering around the map for extra objectives. All you have to do is get items and capture at least 1 tower. And as long as you play the strongest heroes, you will win every time.
However, if you have even 1 bad teammate, you will lose unless the enemy is even worse.

This is technically worst Moba I've played so far, but there can still be little hope for it. As it is early release, the potential can still be raised from the developers reading constructive feedback, even though the unedited version of this review was needlessly harsh until Arbash (one of the developers) convinced me to give this game another whirl

Just one more "Pay to win" Game.Devs says it's not...but sure,They just want us to think it's not.
Now more concrette about that thing: Game drop 3 types of items :
1.Blue - usual gear.
2.Yellow - same stats + 1-2 passives that makes it a little better then blue.
3.Green - 2 times better(and even a little bit more then 2 times) then blue stuff.
Also you may collect 4 of same greens to get more bonuses from it (and 1 addictive skill).
That's cool,but.
When you pick up green piece of gear - it's limited to 24 hours.
To remove this limit you should pay 375-475 gems.
Gems = donate or tons hours of playing(yeah we have alternative, but when you'll play it you'll see - alternative isn't realy good)
Also you can buy more charecters in game....(or alternative - win 50 games with friends - it's like 100-200 games for each one)
And...you can buy "skin" for your character - it's only donate....and sure - it grants you additional basic stats.
_________________
Sure. It's Pay to win. Why? Cause you can buy much more then just outfit to your heroes or weapons. It makes you stronger....more then 2 times stronger....cooomon...srsly?
________________
And more about the game in general:
Not balanced, depends on random at many things, even with good team you may lose if other teams will be just more lucky newbies..
Yeah, game is pretty funny....if we'll exept one more point ....you just play constantly 1 map(with 2 types of rules) with different heroes...it's pretty boring.

A Wierd Take on MOBA´s
Golden Rush is a game that differiates itself from most of the other MOBA games in the planet, its rather hybrid type of a gameplay that still has some core moba game functionalities, however its gameplay is lot different. It somewhat similar to League Of Legends Mode Dominion, where teams compete against controlling different points in the map, in this sense its lot similar however there is no lanes and you got lot of jungle camps that you want to clear out to win

While gameplay is alright along with graphics there is things that i didn't like about the game
- Some of the attack and spell sounds are not synced with animations, they come in delay
- Not large pool of heroes to play
- Rather lacking options to customize and change settings
- Tutorial doesn't explain too much about actual important stuff like equipment system
- Golden rush isn't a game that you would play countless hours, not great lasting appeal

play this game if you enjoy losing 90% of every match until you get lucky drops, play enough games getting to 3rd place or higher to gain enough premium curency to make a magic weapon, then never finish the set cause it wont drop anymore.

or you could cough up a bunch of money to basically get buffs every game and still lose cause you get teamed up with players who didnt pay.

I tried to give this game a chance, I really tried.
I knew when they said it was pay-to-win, I was coming to something horrible.
I didn't know what I was getting into..
The game literally pushes you to buy ingame currency aka the black gems.
Let me tell you how, you are going to sleep, but decide to play one more round. Oh! I got an legendary drop? Awesome!
WRONG! Too bad there is a 24h timer on that ♥♥♥♥ing item, yes its not yours yet until you remove the timer with gems. So, now you are thinking, do I play like 50 rounds constantly hoping that the cykas you are always against and play with dont have awesome-hyper-legendary-gear to faceroll you? or do I give into the brainwashing money whoring devs who laugh at idiots who pay for this dumb game?

The answer is: Uninstall this game, forget about it, live your life happily ever after.

To start off, it is Beta, don't expect much.
The items in the game give pretty big advantage, for example some items give more expierience from monsters, meaning u can get bigger level from less monsters - more damage, cuz levels give stats and advance spells.
Also general levels, not ingame, but your personal level as it increases gives better items to buy in shop and better drops, meaning if u play this game for more - you will get rewarded for spending your time. But at the start you gonna get crushed or you can get lucky and win because you get some good players in your team and you follow their pings.

About matchmaking though.. It's really. really poor right now, even worse than in most mobas, since you can get matched up with anybody, even though I seem to get very bad players most of the time, and I played something like 40 matches already, only in the ones I won I got someone decent, and I won 10.. 25% win ratio in 3v3v3v3, you think not THAT bad. But it feels bad to lose that many, while in most of these games I couldn't do anything about those loses.
But you can't blame the matchmaking since the game is in beta + it's player base is really small too. But I hope it won't discourage you to test this game and play for some time. It is a bit pay2win but with 15h I can say that my character isn't too badly equipped, but I also spammed this one character. The general level for character is seperate for each, so you need to start from the scrap if you want to try/main other character, which is pretty bad decision in my opinion.

Well, generally it's a good moba for what it is, the improvements would be nice, but I still rate it 7/10 for the beta, and I can't wait for updates and launch of it. Definitely would recommend to try and forge your own opinion.

The only thing this game has going for it is the permanent loot you can equip. Other than that it's boring and uninspired. The permanent loot is just ridiculously priced in the shop and forces you to pay money to keep certain items. Games need to make money but this is just disgusting. If the game was better it might warrant paying for some of this stuff, but as it stands it is cliche and just feels like a chore to play. Don't take my word for it, go try it yourself and laugh your ♥♥♥ off when you see what you need to pay to be even slightly competitive. Or save your money and play one of the dozens of other free games that are available because this piece of garbage will be shut down before too long. Look at how many other games EA has pulled.

A nice alternative to LOL.
3vs3vs3vs3 - a dragon in the middle which will become your ally when/if you manage to kill it.
No levels but gear is kept from game to game so you can improve your character that way.
Action is faster than normal LOL, slower than ARAM.

Enjoy

First impression

cons
-No way I found to see invisible units, you just have to take it
-good items you find expire over a short amount of time
-a lot of microtransactions that are not just cosmedic.
-custom skins you purchase with real money, also give boots to stats.

pros
-3v3v3v3 is fun
-not typical tower/base moba
-items you find in one game transfer to future games

worth checking out. I hope they change the current system and remove most of the annoying microtransaction jabs.

This game is marvelous! You have to actually think here, not mindlessly shoot. If the developers keep working on it and updating it, it will definitely have a great variety of skills and possibilities.
Yes, there are some bugs, but they are not so important when you dive into the game.

Surprisingly fun - a lot of the negative reviews are quite misleading, possibly becuase they did not play enough to find all of the game's features. The game stands out as unique in the MOBA genre by having 4 teams rather than 2, and it works quite well. The game is designed around this 4 team system rather than having it thrown on just to make the game different, which means that the win conditions, map, and pacing of the game aren't as similar to standard MOBAs as you might expect. Rather than winning by destroying a structure as in most MOBAs, your team needs to be the first to collect 30,000 gold. Games are quite fast, lasting 15-20 minutes on average, and are fast paced all the way through.

In this game's case, it makes more sense to talk about the problems that the game has before talking about what it does right, as of some of the features available lessen the impact of many of the problems.

CONS
1. Pay to win

A lot of the "p2w" features such as legendaries are earnable in-game, so think of those as pay to progress faster. Better potion packs are purchasable with the premium currency, though you can get them in other ways and they are quite cheap. The skins, however, provide a direct stat boost and are only purchasable with real money. This is by far the worst part of the game; think of the game in its current state as a free trial where you have to pay $10 for a skin to get the full experience. You cannot use the premium currency for these, you have to buy them through steam. Hopefully a system is put in place to earn skins, even if it takes 100+ games.

2. Poor tutorial

The tutorial is far shorter than it should be, and fails to cover all of the game's basics. The game does have a wiki that has more information on how to play, but that should be in the tutorial to begin with. Some pieces of information are even missing on the wiki, meaning that they cannot be found by searching online at the moment. This is hopefully going to be changed seeing as the game is in early access, though.

3. No matchmaking system

There is no MMR. Everyone gets matched together, regardless of skill level. This is a forgivable flaw, since it allows for great queue times despite the small playerbase, but if the game ever gets a large playerbase then it will become a more glaring problem.

4. Lack of custom game support

Currently, you can only play games through matchmaking, and teams are limited to 3 players. If you have a large group of friends playing the game, the only hope is to queue up in separate groups and hope to be put in the same game - the game would certainly benefit from having custom games for large groups of friends/stream viewers.

PROS
1. Extremely well executed 4 team gameplay

No other MOBA does this, at least not well. Golden rush's 4 team system leads to a much faster pace than standard MOBAs. Teams will often make temporary alliances against the first place team, and fights at the objectives can have as many as 12 players involved in an all-out brawl. Split-second decision making is heavily rewarded, as catching another team out of position can secure you their tower or an ace if done properly. The game is simply fun to play, which is what really matters.

2. Premium currency can be earned in-game

Being in the top 100 at the end of a month gives you some premium currency, though the rewards are heavily skewed towards the top few getting a lifetime's supply and the rest getting relatively little. You can get it in modest quantities from the daily reward (I've been given 300, $3 worth, in just under 2 weeks of daily spins). You'll earn quite a bit of premium currency from essences. (purchasable for the standard currency of gold, essences can give you legendary gear, ~50-200 premium currency, temporary or permanent buffs, and potion sets) Last but certainly not least, you can earn it just by winning games. A win nets you 15, second place gives 10, and third gives 5. You'll need just under 1500 for a full set of legendary gear, which is easily attainable without paying.

3. Gear sets lend variation to the endgame

Think of your equipment in this game as runes/masteries in league of legends. They provide some flat stat increases in addition to special buffs such as -ressurection time or -damage taken from towers. Legendary sets provide an ability on top of that, such as cc removal or cooldown reset. Each class has 3 legendary abilities to choose from, and they will have a significant degree of impact on the game, much like summoner spells in league. Since the gear is all attainable without paying, players will eventually be on an even playing field in that department. Paying simply allows you to get this gear faster.

4. Well designed bots

Teammates disconnect at the start of a game? No problem, the bots that they get replaced with have you covered. This game has some solid AI, and the bots can even be controlled with pings to an extent. While it would be nice to be able to micro the bot abilities as dota lets you do with disconnected players, the bots are sufficient as is. I've won a couple games where both of my teammates disconnected at the start simply because the bots can be commanded to go to objectives where necessary and have decent enough AI in a fight to survive, provided you give them a few commands.

5. Short matches

The matches, lasting only 15-20 minutes, are a welcome break from the hour+ timesink that many other MOBAs can be.

All in all, golden rush is actually a lot of fun. I'd strongly recommend playing with a group of friends, as co-ordination is quite important. Try it out in spite of the mixed reviews - you'll be plesantly surprised at how well-made the game is.
