About This Game

Something distinctly odd is happening in the Kingdom. In the town square, the plungers are feuding and the situation is quickly going down the drain. A huge, fire-breathing kitten has besieged the castle and threatens to bring catastrophe. And you just can’t brush off the fact that the King is actually an old wooden broom who wants to sweep all these mix-ups under the rug.

In this wacky parody adventure, the ridiculousness is unstoppable. Think “MadLibs” meets a classic “collect-and-combine” adventure game - but with more puns and time-traveling robots.

ADventure Lib is a classic fantasy adventure game, except...
  • Randomness
  • Silliness
  • Awesome Puns
  • Chickens that aren't usually chickens (but probably still taste like chicken).
  • A terrible something that can only be described as “fish.”
  • The Coming Singularity
  • Epic Feuds
  • Impending death by kitten fire (or pineapple fire, or princess fire, or, well you get the idea)!

About ADventure Lib

Have you ever noticed that the puzzles in point & click adventures are bizarre or outright ridiculous? Like “combine the fishing line with the artichoke to get the platypus to open the grate so the rubber ducky floats down the tube...” when all you really wanted to do was open a door or something?

Adventure Lib lovingly pokes fun at this roundabout nonsense with puzzles that are more than ridiculous, they are completely random! All the characters and items you interact with are literally swapped with each other, so you could be Plunger the Brave, whose quest is to open the locked pants of legend and solve outlandish item combination puzzles like putting butter on robots (that would totally short its circuits).

ADventure Lib is not a long game, but it is designed for re-playability - much of the fun is found by playing multiple times and discovering new [often unintentional] jokes, and new object-specific puns and dialogue.

Should I Play ADventure Lib?

If you like randomness, puns, point & click adventures, and parodies, then definitely. This is a silly game, for silly people.

Object Manager

Want to add even more awesome wackiness? There is now an Object Manager that allows you to add your own objects or characters, to be immediately shuffled into the game! You can draw a banana, record yourself saying "banana" and before you know it you could be walking around as Banana the Brave!

Look guys, this is a linear game with literally 4 screens, no animations, and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ voiceovers.
Just because you jumble the pieces around each playthrough doesn't make the 10 minutes it takes to complete it any more fun or "humorous". Unless you're a person who considers replacing a dragon with a butter knife the pinnacle of hilarity.

ADventure Lib is set in a medieval world and you are a hero who embarks on an adventure to save the kingdom; however who/what you and every other thing in the kingdom is/are is totally shuffled when you start playing causing some hilarious moments.

Start the game with a shuffle button; every character and item is randomized but still keeps their assigned roles. (IE. In my first play through the king is a butter knife and the hero is a potato)
Classic adventure gaming returns with looking at items, collecting items, combining items and using items. At least in this game the ridiculousness of that classic system is highlighted but the completely insane randomization
Because of this most of the game play is just trying to find the right tool for the job at hand, whether it’s fighting the PLUNGER or helping the CHICKEN. Results may vary.
There are secrets to be found, from the charming Easter Egg/Throwbacks in the backgrounds or the collectables that are a little tougher to find, sometimes.
One of the coolest features of ADventure Lib is the ability to create your own assets to put in the game! An easy to use interface lets you provide the image (I used a transparent PNG and it looked great) record the word yourself and it gets added to the game with everything else.
Steam Workshop is also integrated so you can share your creations with everyone. Whatever they may be. We all know what’s coming.
The game is admittedly on the shorter side but that actually works for me; the best part of this game is shuffling the entire game into a new experience and playing with new crazy stuff going on. That said, the ending I received initially was fairly abrupt and I am not 100% sure if there is a “good” ending that you can receive on subsequent plays.
All in all there isn’t much that you wont be able to figure out with a light application of intelligence
and patience. This isn’t Dark Souls; this is a lighthearted adventure and just a good bit of silly fun.

ADventure Lib, for being a simple 2D exploration game, manages to look really clean and well put together.
It looks they way you would expect, being light on the animation side with stuff bobbing around the screen. This helps when you add your own content it fits in perfectly.
Able to change character’s two main color schemes anytime

Music and SFX: The sound effects and music are just fine. No problems with them; nothing special in that regard. It all blends into the game play well.
Voice Acting: This game is fully and independently voice acted. It is half of the charm, really! Its nice that they took the time to do this even if it was done by people who are new to the industry. Only a couple lines came off as recorded out of place but it was hard to notice amongst the crazy dialog. Also: If you add an asset to the game you can count yourself as a voice actor as well. 😀

Final Verdict:

ADventure Lib is a light-hearted and loving tribute to the “use X on Y” genre. While it is small in scale I had no technical issues playing it and had a lot of fun working out the puzzles (basic as they are). Adults and kids alike would have a fun time with all the goofy situations that arise in this game and at the price it’s damn near risk-free to give it a try. It is a little short but it’s fun to replay (especially after adding new characters/items to the game!).

Quirky parody/spoof of RPG point and click adventures that takes about as long as a lunch break to play. Not for everyone, definitely not for everyone. But if one likes MADLibs and that type of absurd humor then this game will provide hours of amusement. NOTE: In no way should this game be taken seriously.

ADventure Lib is a moneygrab, and an awful one at that. It's not often you stumble across something as bad as this.

I had read all the negative reviews for this game and wanted to give it a try because sometimes people can be a little over the top when it comes to writing something bad about a game, but in this case, every single one was justified. It doesn't matter how mad or wacky the developers said they tried to make the game, it is a lie. There is no effort put into the making of this at all. I truly feel sorry for the developers if it took them longer to make than the twelve minutes I put into getting all of the achievements.

In ADventure Lib you play a hero who has to find a great treasure to prove himself to the king. There is a pool of words that are scrambled into the game and will be randomly assigned to certain items. These are words like 'key, butter, Charles, plunger, knife etc.'. Every time you begin a new game everything will be re-randomized using the same pool. The story remains the same, the characters remain the same, the only thing that changes from playthrough to playthrough is which item gets called what.
Being a point and click this makes ADventure Lib a pain in the ♥♥♥ to play. Point and click games rely on you combining different items with each other, as does this, except these items are randomly named so the entire game is trying every single item with something else until something works. All future playthroughs will be boring as once you know where you find the item you'll know what it is meant to be and where it is meant to be used.

Every achievement can be found in one single playthrough and can be gotten within 15 minutes with ease, though there is nothing to make you want to get them besides the fact you actually wasted money on this and feel like you NEED something in return.
The voice acting is poor, the graphics are basic and the story is terrible. There is no re-playability, and no fun to be had the first time you play either.

There MAY have been a good idea somewhere here but the lack of effort from the developers have left this game completely worthless.

ADventure Lib truly is a game that doesn't ever need to be played. I hope that no-one spends their money on this and the developers should feel ashamed charging $2 for this mess of a game. I know I'll be avoiding anything Fancy Fish Games makes in the future, even if it's from a cheap bundle.

Well, this was a silly game. It basically randomizes items and mixes them up, so instead of a knight, you might be a chicken or butter or what have you. Your spear might actually be other random items. The puzzles are as simple as they get and the whole game wont take but 10 minutes or so to finish for most people. You can play over and over if you like with randomized items, but other than that, there really isnt a point to playing the game again. I think all told, I would probably give this one a 3 or 4 out of 10. Easy achievements if you care to get them all. I walked past an item that would have given me the two I am missing and I really cant be bothered to go back and grab them, lol. Meh.

- Totally absurd.
- Perfectly clownish.
- Absolutely stupid.
- And even more funny.

Now, honesty game is too short, but reroll (randomize) option along with ability to add you're own characters or objects to play with, will surely give you couple of funny hours spent on this title.

I wont tell you anything more, game is worth its price so go ahead and buy this compilation of randomness.

Overall: Recommended to everyone who have spare 1,99$

"Pretty messedup adventure"
You will play a very short fairytale point and click adventure. But first you realize that shuffle button in the start menu. Shuffle means suddenly the king become a screwdriver and the princess a piece of butter. Now you must concentrate to solve all quests with confused item names and persons. Because all keywords in this fairytale got messedup. Some find it funny. Others might get a nerve breakdown ...

ADventure Lib has an interesting concept, but its implemented poorly. It's the same 'story' each time you start a new game with the same 4 scenes except that there are different unhumorous replacements for characters or items. Things like a firebreathing broom or combining 2 or 3 unlikely items to make a spear. The so called humor in this game is just dumb, not one bit funny.

Not much humor to be found here. There are a couple of cards, however. If you didn't get this in a bundle or a giveaway, shame on you.

Well. It is very creative. I can say it is easy to beat. The voicing is a little awkward, as it has a sort of long pause between everything, and well. You will see. Get it if you dare. Maybe a fire-breathing potato will end your kitten's last life with butter and a toilet in the sewer with Elizabeth.

Terrible, terrible game. It attempts to be kooky and silly, but just ends up non-sensical, unfunny and lame. The voiceovers are especially cringe-worthy.

Not sure why, but the controller buttons on the screens (push button B) do not match up with the actual buttons (actually push button X) you need to hit. I've seen complaints of developers being lazy when converting console games to PC, but this is the first time I've seen developers of a PC game get their own buttons wrong. That is truly the height of laziness.

No real redeeming qualities. Still can't get those voiceovers out of my head ... like a bad song that's just stuck in your ears.

I was really hoping for a modern Mad Libs experience, but this wasn't it. Honestly, I wouldn't even drop $0.10 on this game.

Got this during the big summer sale and its good for a few laughs from both children and adults alike. Its a very short game so the replayability is a big thing. Pretty much its a simple time killer. It took me just about a half hour to get through, I would say 50 cents well spent. On a side note the main character kinda sounds like Fred Savage lol, talk about throwback :)
