in Space is a fragmented yet enjoyable basic experience, the true definition of an indie game. First things first, it has an amazing soundtrack, and the visuals are retro. The gameplay is its main focus, and they humorously tote that due to budget everything else was cut, and what it does it does well. NOW what it doesn't do is tell you what this game actually is....

Its a 2D scrolling shooter with MATCH 3 mechanics. Not anywhere was that apparent on the store, and it took me one attempt to figure out the game mechanics, so its easily accessible yet moderately challenging once you get going. For my bottom line.....

"So ya, I'd buy that for a dolar"

List of things you can buy with a dollar:

This game.
Homeless person's adoration.
Some crappy noodles.....(but they taste so good)
100 pennies if your government still mints them (or some other subpar coinage)
Really cheap ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s (ok well this one you end up paying more in other ways... :( )
Cheap in game cosmetics
Some other crappy indie games on steam which won't give you near as much fun as this.....

....oh and it has trading cards...

I love floating around space endlessly! ¸. * ● ¸ .☾ ° (⌒▽⌒) ¸. ●¸ .☆

On a serious note, this game is a great Indie Space Shooter where you essentially match 3 on a 2D sidescrolling platform. This may seem like a casual easy run but the further you get into the levels the more difficult it will become and you will need to pay attention. I love the leaderboard feature where I can track my progress on the different modes and see how well i've done. One of the best Indie games I've bought under £1. Also +1 for the nice soundtrack. 9/10 Overall.

This is a fun little space shooter that focuses more on strategy and puzzle mechanics as opposed to mindless clicking with the mouse. The Atari-esque graphics and sound effects are a nice touch, and the electronic background music is quite soothing and complements the gameplay. If you can get a good deal on this -- which you can; the game normally sells for $0.99 and it's possible to get coupons that knock it down further -- then I recommend giving this a try. It's good for those moments where you might want to play something but don't want to devote a large block of time.

in Space is an addictive, surprisingly enjoyable space shooter with enjoyably simplistic mechanics. As a ship with what basically amounts to a peashooter strapped to it, you fire at coloured shapes to stop them from reaching past your defences. However with each shot your defensive line edges forward, making the game harder and harder. This is where the aformentioned simplistic mechanics come in. In one mode of the game you need to destroy three or more of the same coloured shape to get your defensive line to move back. In another, you have to time your shots and destroy ships in rapid succession to get it to recede.

This mechanic is really cool and nifty and makes the game fun to play. It requires pinpoint accuracy and you only really have yourself to blame if you break your combo.

Throw in some cool Atari Esque visuals and a decent soundtrack and you've got a game that is more than worth the 79p it's sold for.

I am totally frustratingly happy with this game. It is fun, challenging, it tests your reactions skills masterfully. It brought me back to my childhood in the 80's. IT's like KABOOM by Activision mixed with DEFENDER by Williams.Oh and btw the Soundtrack on this is FRICKEN INCREDIBLE! Thank you to the programmers of this game. Great job

There are two main modes of play, each of which can be modified with two optional rules. Between this and four difficulty levels you'll probably find something to your liking. The game is based on an interesting idea, but gets boring suprisingly quickly. The one-page manual is not good enough and some things are quite hard to deduce, which is not acceptable for a game vying for my time. So is it worth a dolla? Meh... I guess. Just barely.

A simple fun game, it can get addicting. Has some pretty awesome music too. It's funny when you use discord (If use that instead of skype's crappy call quality) becuase it says you're "Playing in space."

Tetris meets Space Invaders. An enjoyable, albeit somewhat choppy SHMUP experience.

A fun distraction at best. You wont get more than a few hours out of it. The one dollar price tag makes it very easy to reccommend. You know, it's one of those games you will get when you have a little extra cash in the steam wallet but you don't have enough for games you actually wanted.

Very good shooter/puzzle game. You need to match the enemies so you can pass the level, and still not allow them to reach your life bar. The game is pretty well made and very simple to play.

You are some kind of a spaceship and your only reason in this game is to achieve higher scores, not much else, but the game does pretty well in what it is supposed to do. It flows well, it is easy to aim, it is pretty simple to understand and also you'll probably have fun wasting sometimes.

Since the game is all about the higher score, though, you may find yourself in a state where you don't know what else to do. I mean, you don't have really any objective to reach. Still, this game is pretty good for those times where you simply wants to spend some quick time. This game, or any game like this, would be amazing as a mobile game, where you could play a session while you're at the bus or waiting for something.

Also, the soundtrack is pretty nice and you'll feel pleased by listening to it. And the game is pretty cheap, even reaching some high discounts, there is no reason why you shouldn't try this game.

It's a cute little game, there is more to it than you realize at first. Definitely worth the $1, though it kinda gets blanded over wtih other games I'd much rather be playing. For example, if I have the choice between wasting an hour on Dragon's Dogma or InSpace I'll choose DD. But if I need to blow through 30 minutes for whatever reason, InSpace is an enjoyable little hiatus from everyday life.

Hey everyone and this is my review about the game!

This is a casual click? game.

You have options at the "Launch section"
There is a slidebar for sound and music.
You can change your resolution to many sizes.
You can play fullscreen.

About the game.

There is a difficulty settings Normal to very hard.
There is survival mode and other modes.
If you are going to Alt-Tab out of the game, You can't use your mouse cursor or move it. Which is really bad. Playing windows mode doesn't have this issue. Because you are able to click outside of the gane.

There is Techno/trance music during the game. Which is okay for the game.
You are able to pause the game during game.
You have to match colors to push your line back. There are power-ups to help abit. But the only thing what you have to do is moving mouse up or down and left click. If a color block hit the line, You will lose the game. If you change color then the line will get pushed again until u match THAT color again.

There is somewhat a boss enemy type.
At the bottom of the game you will see "Round". Whenever this is empty you will complete and move on to the next round.

Each space pixel ship has their own ability if you press Right click mouse button. It has a cooldown whenever you are using it. Cooldown depends on the spaceship.

Your space pixel ship has a laser sight to make it a bit easier for you to find the target. This is ofcourse only on one straight line.

The game is very linear and repetive. It doesn't have much variety and maybe the music is the only reason what makes the game good. Game itself is boring.

Other things.

You can place your own highscore and name. But this is only for local and not online purposes.

Game music and sound doesn't really seem to work if i press Pause(esc button). It seems that the volume resets itself back again. Even if it shows it is on 10%.

I Give this game a 3/10

I got a coupon for this game, and was intrigued after watching the trailer. Looking at the negative reviews, I expected the game to have choppy functions and lack of content. Although I haven't experienced any buggy gameplay mechanics (running Windows 7 x64), one of my friends has (running Windows 8.1 x64). As such, if you're using Windows 8 or 8.1, I would advise caution with this game, as it may not function properly.

The amount of content is what you'd expect after watching the trailer; you just shoot the enemies before they get to the line. The game is controlled entirely with the mouse and mouse buttons; moving the mouse moves your spaceship up or down like you'd move the mouse cursor, and left click fires a shot. As such, this game can be played entirely with one hand.

As far as I can tell, there are 2 gameplay modes; "Match 3" and "Survival". In survival mode, you have to kill the enemies before they reach the border line on the left. However, each kill makes the border move a little bit to the right, requiring you to kill enemies faster. Killing enemies in rapid succession moves the border to the left. In Match 3 mode, each kill moves the border to the right, but killing 3 of the same enemy color in a row will move the border a bit to the left, which I find to be a unique idea. In either mode, however, accuracy is a must; as the trailer said, this is an accuracy-based shooter. There are also several difficulty levels, although I've only played on normal difficulty so far.

When starting the game, you're greeted with a settings screen where you can choose the screen resolution, whether or not to play in full screen, whether to display special effects, and adjust the volume controls. However, after this screen, there is no way to change these settings except for the volume. Fortunately, it's very easy to exit and restart the game to change the settings if need be.

A very simple game at its core, and definitely worth the $0.66 I paid for it.
