About This Game

Once Bitten Twice Dead is a new MMO first-person shooter, set in an open world with a serious zombie problem! Fight the undead with and chat to a maximum of 100 other players simultaneously - players can join and play games across almost any platform. Pick one of fifteen different characters, each with their own skill set, with which to fight against the undead, utilizing tons of unique weapons! Craft useful items to prepare yourself for the onslaught, but make sure to have your camp built by nightfall: before the infested horde comes back, or you may not survive the night with all of your body parts intact! Fast and furious, yet quirky and fun, Once Bitten Twice Dead combines all of your favorite game elements – rot-walkers, night survival, crafting, open world play, deadly weapons, multiple game modes, and more into a rip-roaring, zombie-stomping good time!

◾A cartoon art style that really accentuates the eyes of that undead cannibal about to eat your brains

◾Explore a beautiful and deadly open world complete with day and night cycles! (What goes bump in the night will probably gnaw your face off..)

◾Multiple zombie types to keep you on your toes, by trying to chew them off when you least expect it!

◾15 unique characters to pick from, each with their own skill set and a serious distrust of anything that shuffles and/or eats human flesh

◾Use different weapons and protective devices to fight monsters of the deep, mysterious automatons, and other players in PvP.

◾Over 50 weapons and 100 craft-able items, to help you prepare for and combat the horde! (Or at least look cool for screenshots)

◾Online and offline play modes for those players that demand modes

◾Play online with up to 100 other people simultaneously across multiple platforms – Nobody likes to do the zombie stomp alone.

◾Infected Mode (Coming Soon) - Play the game as the zombie: Crawl, jump and swipe your way across the land, stopping players in their wake

◾Mod support! (Coming Soon) This game will feature full mod support, for those who like to get a little crazy!

◾Custom skins (Coming Soon)

◾Over 50 different zombie types: From Police, to Wartime Soldiers, Average Joes, Firemen, Company Men, Doctors, and much more! (some may offend!)

◾Constant updates and game add-ons to keep this game fresh! (and not rot away..)

◾No subscriptions! Don’t let them win!

◾Sense of humor that revolves around zombies (and maybe fart jokes)

◾FREE Frequent DLC!

Take the fight to the zombies with your buddies, in offline or online modes. Each game can handle up to 100 players, but with better funding we can extend that to a greater limit! The games matchmaking is fast and simple, with game hosting being a breeze. The more the merrier!

Play with friends or with strangers - quickly join a match with a click or carefully search through the list of games currently being played to find the one that is right for you. And if online is not your thing you can play locally, exploring the world in split screen! The choice is yours. We try not to limit how players can enjoy the game's multiplayer.

Enjoy the depth the game has to offer thanks to the skills of each class in your party: perhaps one player can focus on health items and crafting while another takes the fight to the munchers with a high damage output. Some classes are better at crafting than others, and some can take less damage, making them the perfect tank to lure the munchers away from the group as they prepare an onslaught. Mix and match the classes and you’ll enjoy a fresh experience every time you play!

As this project progresses further, we will devise some new and exciting ways to play multiplayer, and these updates and additional content will be made available absolutely at no cost for those that own the game!

Awful game. Just a straight-up asset flip using resources from the Unity resource pack store.

I got this game in a bundle and although I paid about $1 for 4 games, I feel ripped off for that 25c.

Do not buy.

If you are looking for a game that makes you cry?
This is the perfect game for you!
Besides that online dead is, there are almost none of the features they promise you and the zombies are very very easy to kill/walk around, the only thing you can do is collect achievements, which I did, and even that was ♥♥♥♥ed up.

5/7 would uninstall

Once Bitten, Twice Dead is obviously a UnitZ-based game. It is absolutely horrible: multiplayer is dead, the world isn't anything to really write home about (and lacking of loot), and it just wasn't unique. I felt there was no reason for me to play this game, I've played it a thousand times before.

It gets a gold "u tried" star because the devs seemed to actually deviate from the asset pack, very much unlike the obvious other contenders that you can probably find very easily. Sad to think that this is a positive in a game these days, to be honest.

You can see, by the other reviews, how bad this can be. But, well, confirming it: It is a lot. Really bad game, really clunky, really out of purpose and really no fun at all

And here you really don't have a purpose, things don't make that much of a sense, you have to guess what to do, where to go, what to get, and face the zombies that appear out of nowhere.

The game is laggy for simple graphics like that. I had fewer problems with some other games that look like it (you know THAT one) that is more compelling and works better than this.

So yeah, stay away from this.

By the way, your character is probably a vampire, since you can't enter some houses.

UPDATE: They just released the Early Access into production without doing any of the stuff that they've been promising and after doing sale after sale and without even doing an announcement.

Worse the game they are selling per the store page and the game that you will get are two very different things, basically the stuff said on store page is not in the game that you get (complete details below)!

I've finally had it, asked for refund, too much even for me, filed false ad complaint, i'm done.

UPDATE: Sadly developer is no longer focused on this game alone and appears to have been working on another game for over 8 months and not giving this game their full time attention. the reason is because as a game developer it is hard enough to do a single game at a time, but more than one is just not a very good idea and will likely this game ip suffer due to the fact that the developers time, energy, money, effort ect are now divided by two. worse i think that this game has already suffered because it has not been even getting all the changes/fixes that have been available in the original UnitZ version. What is really bad i think about it is that they say the new game is their "Dream come true" and the only thing i can think of is wasn't this supposed to be the "Dream come true"?

Plus if one looks at other successful indie studios they have a single game they focus all their attention on and build a stronge base around that one game and make a name for themself on that one game and not go from game to game to game every few months.

I originally got this game because I loved the art work you see on the games store page and the backgrounds that they did are all very good I think and done by a very tallented artist.

Having said that nice art work and backgrounds for my Steam profile, is not enough and while I also honestly hate to give negative reviews mostly cause I like to give developers a chance, plus the assets they licensed are really nice ones, but after playing the game for four (4) hours now I can say with certainty that its not worth the $5 and I can't say that I recommend it either to anyone.

One thing to watch out for is that number of things stated on the store page, that were available in the early alpha demo and that you see in the video are not in the game. For example right now you can play the police officer and the fireman, but not the other characters that you see playing in the video. Also, other than the jeep, you can't drive the other vehicles, like the van that you see being driven in the video, you can't drive it. Which is a bit of a disappointment and I hope they add back the stuff they remove as soon as possible or at least change the video to reflect the game that they do have.

Also, the game needs a lot of work, right now its just shell of a game and little more than money grab and a whole bunch of pie in the sky promises...

For example, the game presently does not do many of the things that are said on the store page, which is very misleading. The game does not appear to support 100 players, only 32 players as with UnitZ. The game does not let you pick from one of 15 different characters, so far only 2 characters can you play. The game does not have 50 different zombie types, it has 10 different zombie models from Simple Zombies asset pack and different skins that comes with it, but all of them like using the same UnitZ zombie logic. Also, the game does not appear to have 50 weapons, only around dozen from UnitZ. Nor does the game have 100 craft-able items, only the half dozen from UnitZ. Also as far as I could tell the game does not do split screen, at all. I think much of what we read from the store page comes from the original KickStarter / Greenlight description and appears to be in need of editing to reflect what we actually are getting.

Worse the thing looks to have been shoddily done in a short period of time by hurriedly throwing a handful of packages from unity asset store together and little else.

$50 UnitZ game demo from HardWorker Studio (that is what you really getting and doing the game logic) and around $100 worth of models from Synty Studio (and those are the models your playing with) and one of those cheap $10-$20 cartoony GUI skin.

So there you have it, not much else to it...

Worse the GUI is horribly integrated and not fully functional. I actually can't figure how they thought it better than the one that UnitZ came with, at least in my opinion that one looked and worked better.

Also it does not look like they made a single change to UnitZ game template and have left all the bugs, including using its horrible network code. So I dont see how they can say it will ever support 100 players because it does not support a dedicated server, does not do any caching/pooling of game objects to keep the garbage collector at bay and the game logic is all running basically on a single native thread.

Worse is the fact that nobody is playing this game and playing solo becomes boring really quickly. Even worse is the fact that UnitZ demo is available completely for free and lots of people are playing it.

So I cannot recommend this game or give it a thumbs up until the time that they make major improvements to the original UnitZ code and add missing functionality like they show in the video trailer and like they had in the original early alpha demo, but for whatever reason do not include in the release that they give to us. Like being able to drive the vehicles we see in the game video being driven and them giving us more than just the single jeep that comes with the UnitZ demo and until they add the ability to play all the characters that they have which we see them playing in the video on the Steam store, and that were again in the original early alpha demo, but we are not able to play in the release that we get. And not until there are more people to play it since it's really not worth playing by yourself. Basically I want the game that is shown in the Steam store in the video and in the feature list, not the release I was given. I'm actually not sure why they removed stuff like driving the van which looks like it was working well enough in the video and the ability to play other characters which might have been removed cause the GUI they sort of kludged is unfinished, but who knows...

synty studio 3d models

I'm not going to look for exactly which gui skin they used but im pretty sure i seen it in unity asset store.

If your interested in a cartoony zombie open world suvival game of this kind then just get Unturned for FREE instead

And if you want to spend $5 then get Unturned Gold which helps Nelson the 17 year old developer of Unturned out...

At least that game plays, looks, sounds and runs great and is not something that was thrown together using stock assets and at least with that game you get what is on the store page.

Finally if anyone is interested in playing completely for free the original UnitZ demo here is link

Here's a house. There's some water. Can't walk over the doorstep. Can't jump over the doorstep. Can't get in the house. Can't get the water. Can't find another weapon. Turn around. Leave. Go to next house. Try to enter. Can enter. Look for stuff. Nothing in here. Turn around. Leave. Run into the wilderness. Change direction. Change direction. Realise it doesn't matter which direction you pick. Continue running. Run forever. Run like the wind. Arrive back at beginning. Request refund. Denounce God. Weep openly.
Watch video.

Don't buy this game. Full price. NO! Huge sale. NO! Just NO! NO! NO! NO!
I do not care how depressed you are, because you didn't bought anything on Steam for couple hours. This game is not worth of a single penny.
There is no content at all in a single player. For 20 minutes I just run around, looking for literally anything ... without any success.
There is no such a thing as a multiplayer, cause no one is playing this game - for a good reason.

So Dear human, do yourself a favour and save yourself some money. Please go look somewhere else.

Once Bitten, Twice Dead is yet another Unity asset flip masquerading as a zombie survival horror game with crafting elements in an attempt to make some easy money: and just like all the Unity assets posing as games it's barren, broken and boring.

-at least it has no truly game breaking bugs

-trading cards can be sold for profit if you get this free or in a cheap bundle

-a shameless asset flip

-a big, barren world with no content whatsoever

-boring gameplay

-clunky UI

-useless crafting system

-basic sounds

-poor graphics, several untextured parts, horrible water and fire effects: it still manages to stutter though

-zombies are few, slow and easy to avoid, they also often clip into the terrain or simply stand still

Unsurprisingly Once Bitten, Twice Dead has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The map might be big but there's nothing to do apart from running around, exploring houses and buildings that all look the same with the exact same furniture and bashing the few zombies you'll meet. You might find a few items here and there but they're mostly useless and are thrown around at random: if you manage to die no problem, you'll just start over.

The best things I can say about the game is that it works well enough to show how barren and boring it is, I thankfully got it for free but any prospective buyer'd stay well away.

If you offer 640x480 as an option in the startup screen.
AT THE VERY LEAST, make sure it actually works, looks like this was poorly tested,. since you can't even select everything on the menu screen once you start the game that way.

Well, I know its an early acces, It has to be a Pre-Alpha at most.
Theres bugs in buildings where you see items inside but cant go in or simply are cut at half from the inside, the hammer is OP as heck, you can 1 shot any zombie, theres very little loot and I roamed all around the map (think I did, everything looks the same) and just found an AK 74, the all mighty Mjolnir (AKA. Hammer), some fries and bandages.
The build option give very little to work whit, you have, like 6 items to build (wich couldnt build any, cause I couldnt find materials anywhere) wich you can find around (I suppose) like the hammer, and the pistol
The jeep (called Boogie) has a fun glitch that propels you into the stratosfer, spent like 2 mins flying around just for the fun.
As a conclusion, Dont get it ... yet! Maybe after some more work it will worth the cash asked, but as it is now, it doesnt worth a dime, only if they really really work and had some very good forum attention and stuff like that, it would be a worthy F2P.
