About This Game

Porcunipine is a couch multiplayer about balding porcupines fighting courageously for survival using their very last pointy quills.

The concept of the game is simple: You are a majestic and terribly violent porcunipine. You have one quill which you can shoot at your opponents. Once you shoot, you have to go and pick up that quill before you can shoot again. Your quill rebounds from walls and obstacles, and can kill you just as easily as it can kill your enemies.

Excellent couch game and also a good single player game! Easy to pick up and play but hard to master.

Gameplay is a big hilarious anarchy on the screen but skill is required to predict the trajectories as spikes fly everywhere.
Many game modes and interesting achievements to grab. Package is small and comes with a decent price tag.

Just for single player the 9.99e price is tad high but even a bit discounted it is easily worth even as single player.

Our video on Porcunipine:

We had a lot of fun with Porcunipine, Porcunipine is a topdown, arena hedgehog-spike shooter developed by Big Green Pillow in which you fight either with 1 - 4 human players or fight versus AI in a thrilling arena match.

You can also play the single player version, Survival, in which you need to kill waves of enemies with increasing difficulty. This gamemode features an online leaderboard, there is much fun and competition to be had.

We would rate it a 7.5/10 as co-op experience, we would give the solo gameplay 6/10.

Very simple idea, easy to pick and have Instant action and pure fun...

The sounds effects are hilarious and translate the action in a very bizarre way.
Didn't tried local multiplayer yet, but survival mode is very enjoyable :)

This is just the right game for parties!
So 4 people can play together at a time, but its funny to watch when you're waiting for your turn too.
It's at the same time incredibly cute and bloody. Kinda in the same way it's easy to play but also quite challenging once you and your friends get good at it.

It's meant for 4-player gameplay, but I managed to have fun playing alone with the bots. There's a solo mode too with steam Leaderboards, which is nice. Menus overall could be better, yes, but the game really shines on gameplay.

Will definitely keep playing it with my friends, goes great with beer :)

Simple and damn quick arena one-stick shooter with beautiful art, character & interface design and fitting music (8-bit styled yet not tiresome, very smooth and different). It's got high quality engineworks - no lags experienced at all! Action is all about adorable porcupines getting dramatically bald and now they fight for survival with one needle left each... you shoot it in the direction you move and the 2d pseudo-phisics here is totally allright! The point is you have to collect your shot back when it bounces off walls and falls somewhere, can't catch it mid-flight.. the most fun comes from occasionate suicides, when you kill 2 enemies with one shot, deflecting off two surfaces but weirdly the trajectory ends right in your own ars while you've been trying to evade the mole which has just popped out of the ground! It's lightning-quick, crazy random in a good sense and really feels nice, even singleplayer!

Deliriously addictive, hilariously violent, and all around just amazing, Porcunipine is simple brutal amusement. Playing as a handful of near-balding porcupines, you must destroy all the baddies with one single, thankfully retrievable, super sharp quill. Your quill is a one shot masterpiece but you are just as susceptible too! I'm reminded of Titan Souls with that need to be as precise as possible and rebound shots are king here. I had a blast playing it as you can see in the video and I strongly recommend it, for yourself, for your friends, and for your inner violent porcupine! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yud4t0xzJvo

Just played for my channel and OMG! THIS GAME IS AWESOME!
For a lover of bomberman games, this game is perfect!Of course instead of guys exploding each other, you have porcupines throwing spikes at them. The mechanic is easy and thats make de game fun.

So get this game, get your friends and play this! You will not regret :D

Simple fun game. Single player consists of killing enemies with your quill and collecting the skulls of your enemies while more enemies spawn. Try to get a high score on the leader board. Multiplayer has decent ai.. I found it kind of hard but I didnt play it very long. you can play as teams with or without ai. Game has several maps with different gimmicks for each.

After trying this game local co-op I think game equals morethan the sum of its parts... Or for lack of better words, It is very fun. It seems too simple when compared to some games but in the end it's pace and its mechanics work.

I first played this game at Play Blackpool, just before it was released, and after just a few minutes, I knew it was an excellent party game along the lines of Chompy Chomp Chomp and Bomberman. I thoroughly recommend this as a fantastic pick up and play party game.

I had trouble getting the multiplayer to work with generic USB controllers (even with the x360ce software) but with 4 Xbox 360 controllers, it works a treat with no configuration needed.

When you have no other way to dodge than moving at normal speed, have 8-way directional aiming and can only throw your horn once (having to wait for it if it misses), you are in for a boring game session.

Hey everyone and this is my review about the game!

This is a Local Arena game.

Funny menu music.
You are only able to toggle the Music volume.
You are only able to toggle the sound volume.
There are MANY resolution sizes.
You can switch between the qwerty or the azerty keyboard controls.
You are able to play the game with a controller. TOTALLY RECOMMENDED for better gameplay.
There is practice mode.

About the game.

The game is very easy to understand. You play with some horn(y) thing and you shoot your horn to hit and kill enemies. You have to collect their skulls in order to receive some points. Killing yourself in the arena mode (when against bots) will allow anyone to pick up your skull to get a point. The kills that you have made can't be picked up by others. The game has some different arenas and is actually focused on Local gameplay. You can't fire and you can't be killed during the respawn time. You have some respawn protection. You have 1 horn and if you fire this, it will bounce against walls and eventually drops on the ground. You HAVE to pickup the horn in order to attack again. It will remain on the ground until you are dead or has picked it up.

The game is Focused on local gameplay.
You can add bots to the arena.
Has some different characters but has no effect on gameplay.
Bots are not always so smart.
There is NO online. only LOCAL.
Doesnt have a high replayability. but could be fun at times.
Game isn't worth 10 bucks. I do say, Around 3.

Other things.

I Give this game a 6/10

This is port from Kongregate. You are a balding porcupine with only 1 deadly quill on your head. You fire that quill at enemies by bouncing it off walls and then picking it up. Once the enemy dies, you pick it up its skull to gain points. The game keeps on going with more enemies of increasing difficulty. There are a few other modes that you can play but they are not online multiplayer, only local hotseat. It seems to be best played with a controller.

1. Simple Actions
WASD to move and J to your quill. Pick up your quill by moving over it.

2. Novelty
I've never heard of a porcupine game. The closest resemblance is Sonic the Hedgehog.

1. Repetitive Gameplay
It's the same thing over and over again. Run around, shoot a quill, pick up skulls. Rinse and repeat.

2. It's Too Simplified
Sure, it's a simple game but it's not that interesting. The game can't excite me or hold my attention for long.

3. No Multiplayer
Who and how are you going to play this? You need an additional player physically next to you and you need a controller.

Did much research before reviewing this game.
Learned that the porcupine mating ritual involves a vicious battle—and urination on the female.
Having only played a few single player rounds there are no golden showers to be found yet.
Time will tell.
Got happy when Curve Digital popped on the screen
They always deliver a fun time.
The production is slick and it should be played with other members of your squad.
You are a no nonsense porcupine with hairloss
it is good.

Really fun game. I like the idea of a physics-shooter where you have to go back and pick up your projectile instead of ot her shooting games where you just spam.

Although the game feels unfinished. Maybe add more features like online multiplayer and maybe get extra points when you kill an enemy whith a needle that bounced against the wall.

Although you can't really get the full gameplay unless you have a friend or family member nearby, you atleast have practice mode.

I am not sure if it's worth the FULL price. Well. Maybe it does.
But the game itself is ♥♥♥♥ING awesome. I got it in my wishlist since forever and I just played it with my brother.

Tight controls, awesome chip tune music and a lot of ROFL moments.

PS: I am actually shocked of how little reviews this game has. People; if you enjoy local multiplayer games, support the developers leaving a good review! :)
