What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm putting Corona MotorSport in Early Access because I want to build an audience before the game is officially released and have them help improve the experience for future gamers.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Corona MotorSport will remain in Early Access for as long as needed, that depends on how much help and support we receive from the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version will be a lot different from early access. I plan for the game to get more realistic vehicle physics and even better graphics as well as seamless multiplayer and storyline integration. I want the game to have a professional look and feel, to make the gamer think this is truly a unique experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Corona MotorSport is still in it's alpha stages but will soon transfer to a full release when the time comes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the final release price will most likely increase as we continue to add new features every update.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan on greatly involving the Steam Community to help me finish the game. Im looking for people to provide feedback, point out bugs, make suggestions, and even help with designing the game such as making textures or modeling tracks/vehicles. I would also need people to help translate the game into their own native languages.”

2 Years and Counting...

2 years ago today, Corona MotorSport was officially released for sale on the Steam Store. It has been an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to publish on this great platform and I look forward to many more years of publishing. To celebrate, Corona MotorSport is 50% all week :) Be sure to check out the new trailer as well! I am also happy to announce that Corona MotorSport will be transitioning from Early Access to a full release sometime later this year, since I am ahead of schedule!

On another note, Update 3.0 (I've decided to lump 2.09 into 3.0 since it will be a major release) will be coming out by the end of the month. The basic framework of the multiplayer functionality is complete (master server setup, car spawning, time/weather syncing), feel free to check out the roadmap in the discussions for more detailed info about what to expect in the update.

As always, Thanks for your continued support

Multiplayer Early Access Coming Soon!!!!

Hey guys!
Great news, I've officialy started working on multiplayer for the game! It's going quite well so far, I've managed to get a very basic test scene running that will autoconnect to a master server, I can drive the car I set up around with ease and with only a tad bit of jitter/lag, some more tinkering with the serialization scripts should do the trick. So, in order to anticipate what's next for the alpha version of Corona MotorSport Multiplayer, please read below.

The Multiplayer Testing Phase
As of now, the hosting solution I am using to test multiplayer functionality is Photon Unity Networking, their free plan allows 20 concurent users (CCU), which is plenty for the first phase of testing (would probably last 3-4 weeks). During the first phase, the multiplayer will be open to anyone with a copy of the game to access, however, only 20 users (including myself) would be able to play at one time, so play sessions would be limited to approximately 30 minutes per person with unlimited reconnections. So you could play for 30 minutes, the server would automatically kick you after 30 minutes to allow others to try it out, but if there's room, you are welcome to rejoin.

So during the first 3-4 weeks of multiplayer, there would be one trackday server (choose a car, and just drive around with other people) with a limit of 20 people. After working out all the bugs, I'll upgrade to 100CCU, which would allow 5 servers with up to 20 people each. I'll keep going and adding more user capicity based on demand.

Dedicated server hosting by third parties (that's you guys!) would also be available in the future as well as LAN multiplayer and split screen multiplayer.

Thank you for your continued support!

About This Game

Corona MotorSport is a simulation-based independently developed and published racing game. Developed by LucasGame Studios, Corona MotorSport features a constantly improving physics system based on Nvidia PhysX 3. Corona MotorSport also features realistic graphics and vehicle models. The game is almost entirely coded in C# and built in Unity 5.
LucasGame Studios is an indie game studio that was founded in 2012.

Racing AI
Now featuring Racing AI! Race against up to 10 other cars in the new action-packed race mode.

Advanced Tire Model

Traditionally, Unity-based racing games use WheelColliders to simulate wheels in-game. These only detect a single contact point on the wheel, which is suitable for most arcade-styled games. Corona MotorSport uses a Tire Model that recognizes multiple contact points on the wheel to improve realism and suspension/handling simulation.

Beautiful Graphics
Corona MotorSport features top-of-the-line graphics with constant tweaks and improvements each update.
  • Realtime Reflection Probes - creates the base layer of reflections in the game, very low performance cost
  • Screen Space Reflections (SSR) - Adds onto reflection probes to provide accurate, higher resolution reflections.
  • Dynamic Time and Weather system - Test your skills in rain, fog, snow (seasonal), sun, night or day!
  • Next-Gen Post-Processing - Bloom, Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) based Color grading/Tonemapping, Cinema-Quality Depth of Field and more come together to create a beautiful racing experience
  • Physically based shading - High quality environment shaders based on Shader Model 5 with dynamic rain and snow coverage support combined with next-generation car shaders (clear coat and procedural flake generation)
  • DirectX 11

Real-Time Damage Physics
Want to f*** up your car beyond all recognition? No problem! Corona MotorSport features mesh deformation, hinge physics and detachable parts with engine/drivetrain damage coming soon.
