About This Game

Combining elements of arcade simulation and strategic management, Taxi! puts you in control of an up and coming cab firm based in any one of three 3D cities. You’ll begin with a rundown old taxi, picking up passengers and fulfilling a variety of dispatch missions until you manage to muster up enough cash to upgrade your cab and invest in new vehicles.
Choose your staff wisely, while one driver may be expensive to hire they are less likely to take risks which will end in a collision catastrophe that’ll see you picking up the costly tab at the local garage. Each driver will excel in a particular area but some may be less experienced so you’re not going to want to risk one of your fully upgraded cars on an inexperienced driver that is more likely to prang the vehicle into an unidentifiable mess of metal.
Each of the three cities, based in America, Europe and the U.K includes its own unique cars and will require you to consider what side of the road you’ll need to drive on. Be cautious of potholes, oil slicks, peak time traffic and speed bumps as you seek to deliver your passenger to their destination in a timely manner.
There are a variety of obscure missions that you’ll need to complete that will include impatient passengers encouraging you to break traffic laws to get to their destination quickly and precariously balancing luggage on the roof rack of your taxi.

"Who created the AI in this game, a monkey or something?" 5/10

Even though I enjoyed playing this game for a few hours, I still can't recommend that anyone pay full price for it. That being said; I've never enjoyed a game with so many bugs in it before, but I guess there's a first time for everything. And when I say that this game is buggy, I'm talking like, walking naked, covered head-to-toe in maple syrup through the rainforest on the hottest day of the year buggy. For starters, the drivers you hire should all be in prison because they're menaces to society. Do not leave these people alone for even one minute because none of their actions make sense and they will surely kill someone.

"Hey I'm a single block from that passenger, let me not pick them up and instead drive around in circles a few times before heading off into the opposite direction." I imagine this is what's going through the drivers heads the entire time because I have never seen such horrible AI in all of my life. Not only that, but watching over some of your drivers for a few minutes, and you'll surely notice how they barely follow any rules of the road at all. Red light? Let's run that. Speed limit? Let's go over that. I know some taxi drivers are drunk on the job, but this is just ridiculous. For a better experience just steer clear of hiring extra drivers entirely.

Like I said, I had some fun playing this game, but then again I got it for like a dollar or two in one of those fancy pants bundles of games for poor people. Aside from that, the graphics are dated and very not good, there is no support for gamepads, the music is boring and also not good, and there is only one view while driving. Pick it up for a few bucks maybe, but for full price pass this one up like the hired drivers in this game often do to potential passengers. Yeah, that's right, I just made a joke about under performing virtual taxi drivers.

This game uses what may be the engine similar to Yandere Simulator.
But don't take my word for it, all I know is that their launchers are the same. As well both give game-breaking graphical glitches on my particular video card.

That aside, I only could play it for about five minutes before deciding to change the game resolution, and now I cannot play it again. On any graphics setting. Even changing the resolution back didn't work.

If you are experiencing this, you will notice how you are staring into nothing but a blue hell that stares back at you.

In the five minutes I've experienced in this death trap, the taxis inside of the taxi depot appear to develop self-propelled hover technology, or maybe just a graphics problem with the tire models. Unfortunately you cannot run over any helpless citizens (the best part of any taxi game) trapped in the three cities you must plunder through.

In other words I could have used this $1.29 to gamble with CS GO cases, so I highly recommend this to people with gambling problems.

Playing this game is like waking up with a bad wife on your side.

You never understand her completely, you can't control her properly and despite your attempts to reason with her you will always fail and pull your hair off.

Taxi is a very good game. When i got it it was on sale. No bugs at all yet. Overall just a great game. Though I found that AI is won't be taking over the world very soon :)
