“De eenvoud van de gameplay is uiteindelijk zowel de kracht als de zwakte van Super Lemonade Factory.”
72 – Level 30

About This Game

Post World War II, a region in political turmoil. Andre’s father offers to give him his lemonade factory – but on one condition; he and his wife, Liselot, must journey through the entire factory, a task that is easier said than done. Andre and Liselot must combine their unique abilities to make it through each room together. Along the way they’ll meet a cast of characters including the foreman, the chef, a food inspector and a general who wants the factory to supply drinks to the military, now engaged in a new war.

SINGLE-PLAYER CO-OPERATIVE PLAY Liselot can double jump, push small crates for Andre to climb on and talk to other characters. Andre can smash big crates and carry Liselot. Switch between the two characters to combine their abilities and get both of them to the exit.

A BUBBLY PLATFORMER WITH SUBTLE FLAVOURS As you talk to each character, their personalities and stories are revealed. Beneath the bubbly and bright surface Super Lemonade Factory touches on mature themes including labour relations and the moral dilemmas of running a business in wartime.

MAKE YOUR OWN LEVELS Use the same tool and assets as the developer to create brand new levels for Super Lemonade Factory. Import them straight into the game and play your own level.

JOURNEY THROUGH 72 LEVELS There are three worlds – warehouse, factory and office, each with 12 levels. Unlock hard-core mode and an additional 12 levels per world by collecting all the lemonade bottles.

RETRO PIXEL ART AND SOUNDTRACK Featuring 8 bit pixel art by Miguelito and an original chip-tune soundtrack by Easyname, Super Lemonade Factory drips with charm.

ONE OR TWO PLAYER Control both Andre and Liselot on your own, or switch to Two Player Mode for local co-op play. Sorry, this is no online multiplayer.

  • Two Player Split Screen for local co-op. There is no online multiplayer.
  • Write Your Own Dialog For Your Own custom Levels.
  • Powered By Flixel and the Ogmo editor.

Super Lemonade Factory is a fun little game about you earning your father's inheritance, a giant super lemonade factory (hence the name).

Whilst it is nothing groundbreaking, it's a fun little piece that you could certainly rack up a good few hours in. As a 2D Side scrolling plat former, it plays pretty basic. You must switch between two characters, and use their abilities to help one another get past a certain obstacle, obese managerial officer or a harmless office plant. The game offers three game modes, Normal, Hardcore, and Old School, each of which are basically a different difficulty, but the Old School mode really puts you in your place and requires quick thinking and a ♥♥♥♥ ton of lemonade.

With what seems like a playful story, the character dialogue unsurfaces some mature issues about this post WWII world, making each of the 72 levels that much more satisfying to play through.

Overall, I have enjoyed my time so far in the Super Lemonade Factory and I plan to do so for a short while more.

+ Lovely visuals and accompanying soundtrack
+ Some deep story elements can be found underneath it's bubbly surface
+ Plenty of levels and achievements to keep you busy

- Not a big fan of switching characters
- Some puzzles are cramped, often there is not a lot of room to move and items you need can get stuck in corners
- I TOTALLY GOT THAT JUMP. WHAT THE HELL?

This retro-game is divided into three parts.

The first one is the normal mode. To me, it's just a tutorial mode, you have to go through 12 levels three times, but it's not difficult at all.

The second one is the hardcore mode. More difficult than the normal one, this mode contains levels that are pretty challenging. You'll have to die again and again to get through.

The third and final part is the old school mode. You have to complete all of the levels (normal+hardcore, which makes a total of 72). If you fail, you have to try again from the beginning, there is no check point between levels. You start with three lives, so remember to collect sugar to get extra ones. I've just done it (number 13 to succeed), it's quite hard !

Overall, if you are looking for challenging achievements and for a game that requires only a few hours to be completed, you should buy this one !

Super Lemonade Factory It is a 2d Platformer with very simple and easy to use controls, however they are not rebindable. The art style is 8-bit and very cute, which is based in a lemonade factory post world war 2. It also has an awesome soundtrack. There are over 72 levels across 3 different game types - Normal, Hardcore and Old School, all of which are very fun. My most favourite is Old School because instead of 3 lives per level you only have 3 lives to last you on ALL the levels, it made the game a lot more exciting for me! There is also a level editor, however I haven't tried this yet (I've been too busy playing the game haha)
Overall, the game is great and a must buy for someone who loves these type of games as much as I.

Fine pixel graphics, catchy bouncy chiptune music, a storyline and voice-acting that don't get in the way - all of these things are undermined by an absolutely horrible PC port. Tooltips still say things like "swipe right or left" - so I'm guessing this is a port from a tablet.

Controls can't be rebound, and the keyboard controls are pretty non-standard - arrow keys + XCV, instead of the far more common ZXC. Lost track of the number of times I messed up a jump or a dash because my fingers gravitated to the typical ZXC layout. It doesn't sound like much, but imagine trying to play a FPS with ESDF controls if you're used to WASD.

Pressing Escape, for any reason, will automatically exit full-screen mode - if you have to retry a level, you need to go all the way back to the options to set full-screen again, unless you're the sort who doesn't mind windowed mode (philistine).

It's a shame, because the music and art assets are very pleasing to the ears and eyes - if the developers had spent thirty extra minutes to let people customize their controls, this game would probably be quite fun, but life's too short, and there's plenty of other platforming games in the sea. Even with the bad controls and weird non-persistent options, it'd be a passable Flash game, but in this current state it's not at all worth money.

Very polished, nice art style, great dev and challenging!

What more could you want from a platformer?

Definitely worth your time and money, especially if this is on sale. Even if it isn't, still a great game for it's price.

Fun, but short. Really not much of a puzzle platformer, just precision platforming. Lots of typos in what little story there is. There's more replay value if you want to replay on higher difficulties.

I can't really recommend since it is so short. On sale, sure, but for $5... There are user made levels, but it wouldn't have been that hard for the developer to make some more. As is the gimmick is used up pretty quickly.

Fun little platformer. Not worth $5, but hey, on sale it's a great buy.

EDIT (10/15/2014): I figured I'd elaborate on this review since it's sort of just a flat statement.

This game is a port from the mobile versions. It runs seemingly capped at 30 fps. At first I thought it might have been a compatibility issue with my 144hz monitor, similar to the ongoing issue Spelunky HD faces currently (which still has yet to be resolved, btw), but that wasn't the case. The game is just capped. This hinders the platforming, for which this game is advertised.

That issue aside, having forced myself to play, this game was still enjoyable. It took all of those 1.3 hours to beat, not rushing through anything. I didn't go for 100% because the low framerate cap eventually became too much to handle.

The artwork is great, but the music is not memorable.

To conclude: for 1.3 hours of gameplay $5 is not a bargain in the least.

Superrrrr simple and really fun, for the night when you dont have the energy to play something that envolves pew pew, or when you wanna think about something a bit different (by what the characters say, its fun to figure out their lives). This game has the right jokes in the right places, but it has powerful statments as well. Worth the money, with no doubt :)

Designed like one of those horrendous Flash games where two people hog around a keyboard and control a character each. Playing this game alone and switching between two characters is tedious as all hell, and there's no online multiplayer, so if you've got no one to play it with, you're basically screwed. Boring and overdone retro aesthetic and mediocre music. I got it as part of a Bundle, but had I spent 5 euros on it I would be seriously upset.

Well, it sure lives up to it's setting - it's just as fun as working in a lemonade factory. It's a very bland platformer with VERY uninspired levels. Even if you own it, you shouldn't bother playing this game.

Super basic indie retro platformer. Not sure what all the hub-bub about it was, these types of games are a dime a dozen. Pretty 'meh'.
