About This Game

Fancy Skulls is a challenging first person shooter with procedural generation, permanent death and distinct art style.
Intense and tactical combat, unique weapon mods and items that change the way you play.

Foes different not only in visual design but also in their behavior. For example there is an enemy that will teleport every time you hit it, or enemy that leaves bombs that home on you, but you can shoot those bombs to use them against it.

Usable items and power ups, like friendly sentry, an eye that lets you transmute items, kite that lets you fly, matchbox that ignites all foes around you, and much more!

Each weapon is different from another, and every weapon can be modded with options that provide interesting game experiences like "walk backwards to get ammo", "12 hits with no misses give you money", "last two bullets in a magazine do double damage", "don't spend ammo while in the air", "shoot lightning bolts with shotgun".

Fancy Skulls is a fast paced, rogue-like FPS that rewards quick trigger fingers and reaction times. Thanks to it's specific use of colour and strange art style, the game immediately differentiates exactly what is an enemy and what is simply a creepy, threatening tree. Even in it's early state, the addictive "just one more try" mentality is already present. This is definitely a game to keep an eye on through it's development.

So far, A good Monday game.

This game is a good FPS game. The feeling within the game is unique. The ambionce (sorry cant spell) is great. Within this game you are alone with mobs that want to kill you. Each room you enter has 2-5 eggs in them. Once you reach the center of the room there's a red plate that you stand on to activate the mobs. But once you enter a room you cant leave till you kill all the mobs. For each mob there is a weakness that if you hit it you can kill them with one to two shots. This game only has 9 levels but is till very enjoyable. With the format of the levels its always a little different each time you go through them. How ever this is a one life FPS game. You die you start from level one once again. There are several idems that you can collect through out the game so keep an eye out for chests. I hope you enjoy the game if you buy it.

From the grafic/art of this game, you can compare it with "Heavy Bullets".

Its pretty simply "3D" poli-grafic and each time you play it is random - like Heavy Bullets.

But i like it a bit more than Heavy Bullets coz it doesnt have this "suddendly" moments. Each room you enter you can see already the enemy(s) spawn points as "black eggs" so you know if you go into the middle of the room (so thats the point that those enemys will...."hatch") you know exactly how many enemys it will be (mostly around 4 in each room).

The Pros
I love the art of this game and the grafic fits pretty much. It plays pretty good and the enemys are really unique. The weapons are more or less "well known" like a shotgun, flamethrower or a cannon. You also can nicely mod them if you find one of those or buy ones from the stores in the game. The difficult is also nice, not to hard, i would even say still a bit "to easy".

The Cos
Sadly after you know "how unique" the enemys are they are pretty easy to deal with and you can see already how many enemys will spawn if you go into the middle of the room. Also, as i said, the weapons are "well known" means sadly also it is nothing new. Next to this feels the beginning weapons, the revolver pretty much like a ol´classic 48-revolver out of the west. Ok, to be fair, you can mod it but at the beginning, its slow....and it IS slow as f*ck. Also the difficult doesnt get pretty much higher. Ones you have a good run (like i did with a full over mod revolver) you can finish every enemy with one shot and just shoot them in the face - i did it in one hour.

The Fact
FS is a nice first person shooter but it misses a bit of content. The main idea is nice but you maybe should add things like different characters which starts with different beginner weapons, a bit like "Binding of Isaac" maybe. Also you maybe should "rise" the difficult a bit, JUST a bit, coz it is really waaaaay to easy. Next to this should maybe enemys drop more health.

I like it still but i must be THAT honest that i got the game in early access, so things can still change and i HOPE they do. Just add and change some things here and there and i bet FS will be even more funny as it is already.

I give it 7 points out of 10 so far.

This game is fun and addicting at it's core. The mysterious artwork and design help fuel any emotional feedback from the game. The lack of respawns makes you tense and careful. It's a game to play when you don't have a lot of time to play. All in all, this game has great potential.

Excellent FPS/Roguelike combo.

A little on the easy side though, could be a bit harder at the higher levels especially.
