About This Game

Floating Point is a free, peaceful game about using a grappling hook to swing yourself gracefully through randomly generated spaces. In the air, you're fighting gravity. When you splash down beneath the water, you're fighting your own buoyancy to swing yourself further into the depths.

The only objective is to collect points, and the only thing that increases your points is swinging swiftly, smoothly and elegantly without hitting anything. As you pick up momentum, you start to glow, the bars you're collecting rise up, the music kicks in, and your trajectory burns a bright red line in the air, drawing huge, beautiful mathematical curves of your arcing flight.

Also the name is a pun, so that's cool.

Have you ever played a Worms title and wondered what it would be like to have infinite ninja rope and no time limit? Or maybe you just dream of being Spider-Man and think that superheroes who fly are just cheating. If neither of those applies to you but you want a zen-like platforming (as far as platforming is involved because the game features platforms to avoid rather than traverse) experience that isn't loaded with spikes, traps, and pitfalls, this is the game for you too.

The graphics and presentation are minimalistic and sublime, the soundtrack is soothing, and the gameplay itself is simple. It runs smoothly, making those moments when you hit top speed feel ever so good and your graceful arcs that take you above and below the water's surface show that physics simulations need not be infinitely complex.

I personally find it less a 'game' and more a relaxing experience that brings a calm smile, reminding me of games like Flower. And for the price tag, you don't have anything to lose.

Ninja Rope Simulator 2014 gets a 10/10 red dots from me.

A very simple game with simple mechanics, and pretty much nothing except for you (the ball), the wire you create, and the cubes and water.

Oh, and the fantastic music.
Honestly, it's a small game but if you just want to relax a bit and enjoy a peaceful game, give this a go. It's worthwhile.

This game is very simple, yet very awesome. You swing around and that's it. Very relaxing, and the difficulty level is customizable.

If you liked the swinging mechanics from the Spiderman 2 tie-in game on PS2, then you certainly should try this. I found it to be quite relating and once you get the hang of it, there's some really fluid movement. That said, when you screw up it can take a while to get going again. Don't let the simplistic graphics fool you, it's a bit of a processor hog (though I didn't realize until I went from Best to Fastest)

This game has a very simple goal.

Collect the red bars.

It also has a simple concept.

Swing your way around the map to collect them.

And yet, it seems really fun so far. For casual games to play and relax with, I say Floating Point deserves this title. Simple, challenging and has a really unique concept. 10/10 for me :D

I enjoy this game alot. It has easy mechanics and controls which take little to no time to figure out, and some soothing music that changes if you are above water or below. The water and gravity mechancis easily make this game unique and a killer!

They give you a dot and a grappling hook of sorts. A "few" hours later, and everyone you've ever cared about has abandoned you to your point-induced coma. 11/10

This game is just STUPID amounts of addicting; after you get the hang of it (take about ten minutes or less), you just can't stop playing it. The controls are simple and mostly intuitive, and it isn't long before you're having a blast.

It's oddly relaxing, yet exciting; you're swinging over--and occasionally under--what I can only assume is some sort of ocean, looking like the unholy spawn of Spider-Man and a laser pointer, and at times it's difficult not to shout, "Wheeeee!" as you swing around hitting the targets that get you points.

There are no bad guys; the challenge is in your skills, your ability to hit all of the targets. There is no death, and you can change levels whenever you like. You never really feel like you're fighting with the game, just your own ability (or lack thereof), and that's part of the appeal, part of why it's actually a relaxing experience more than anything else.

Would I reccommend this game? You betcha. I like to play it while watching a video (with the music turned off) just to keep the ADD at bay. :)

Pretty good for relaxing.

Just wear some headphones, and start swinging. At first, it might not seem like much, but after some concentration and a few minutes, you'll be deep in a trance like state, relaxed, you will only care about points, and about how good it feels to swing smoothly and with elegance from platform to platform.
