About This Game

Welcome, bold adventurer! Card Hunter is an online collectible card game which blends together card play, deck building, tactical combat and fantasy role-playing in a way you've never seen before. Grab your cards, miniatures, dice and snacks, then journey to a new world of adventure on the tabletop of your Game Master, Gary.

Build your party and set forth on a grand adventure in the massive single-player campaign. Each adventure will challenge your deck-building skills and tactical prowess as you battle horrifying Black Oozes, savage War Monkeys and more.

Amass a collection of fantastical swords, shields and other adventuring gear. In Card Hunter's unique deck building system, equipping your party with these items builds your deck for you.

Enter the fray on a grid based battlefield. Prepare for turn-based strategy where you must play your cards right to defeat your foes and be rewarded with experience and loot.

When you’re ready, challenge other players in casual games, ranked matches or regularly scheduled leagues. Can you rise to the top of this month’s season? Can you and your undead minions triumph in the Graveyard Gambol league? Multiplayer Card Hunter is a never-ending challenge.

Don't want to face the monsters alone? Adventure co-operatively with one or two friends and share the dangers of Cardhuntria as well as the rewards.

When you're done with the huge core campaign, try out the adventures of Omin, Binwin and Jim from Acquisitions Incorporated with an exclusive story written by Penny Arcade's Jerry Holkins. Then get ready for when robots and insane computers invade in the all new Expedition to the Sky Citadel set. Or, if you prefer your monsters from the murky mists of time, brave the challenge of prehistoric monsters and intelligent weapons in the fiendish Attack of the Artifacts.

Quite nice for the first couple of hours. Later on it seems boring, quite random and even the jokes got lame.
Still better than most of the free games :)

This game is very fun, the free to play is totally enough to keep you entertained for hours on end. You can buy in game credit for special items and vanity pieces.. but it's totally not nessecary to enjoy the game. The design is simple, narative rather comical, and gameplay rather addicting. I spent hours playing after downloading it, and I assume there are many more hours of enjoyment to come from this game. Totally reccommend it to someone looking for something free and fun to play.

Literally one of the worst games I've ever played. The gameplay and graphics are so-so, but what truly and utterly kills this pathetic excuse of a title is the RNG. You get a deck of however many cards, and from that you draw MOVE, ATTACK, and DEFENSE cards. Well, you'd freakin think that a warrior would always get an attack card, a cleric a heal, and a mage a spell, right? WRONG. Darn near EVERY fight, I've had to re-play due to this game's absolute GARBAGE RNG. My warrior draws NOTHING but movement, or my cleric never draws a heal, or my freakin mage draws up the three physical attack cards in her deck of 33. That happens EVERY fight. Not some, not most, EVERY fight. And then, these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ creators also have the gall to make enemies have one-shot cards that can outright KILL a PC but you struggle just to damage them due to the completely unbalanced armor and shield cards. You end up hitting a dude for 8? Yeah, he's gonna have 4 shields, each of which let him draw into more shields, or attacks. This title needs a serious balance overhaul. I will NEVER play it again.

PS: If you're gonna make a D&D clone, maybe you should actually bleeping PLAY D&D once in a while to see what it's like. Your game makes me recall that trash movie with the wayans brother.

Card Hunter does f2p perfectly. The paid content is either completely pointless cosmetics (my favourite thing to waste money on), true extra content in the form of campaigns, or an actual ingame benefit that still remains completely balanced.

I didn't spend a cent on this game but I would have no issues doing so later. The DnD x TCG gameplay somehow works really well, and it's fun to grab a friend or two and play a nice relaxing, yet also somehow very entertaining, campaign or two.

Worth your time, worth your dime.

Right there are three ways about this game.

1. you can play all campains once and pray to rngesus for good draws/items and have a puzzle/gambleing game that's worthy of having an A* evilness.

2. Do the campains multipul times and pray to rngesus for good equipment and grind your way to victory

3. throw money at it and pray to rngesus.

I did 2. at kongograte now I'm attempting 1. may rngesus have mercy on me.

But seriosly very fun game for a f2p model just very hard.

By far one of the best games I've come by in a while. It's free, meaning I might be able to convince my friends to play it. I absolutely love this game. So far I've racked up 24 hours on this game, and that number is only going up.

This could have been a good game. I wanted to like it. It has a sense of humor about old style RPGs, y'know. Pencil & paper ones.

But I can't like it. The game play, while simple, is too frustrating. In pretty much every single player scenario, luck rules the day. You can design your gear as best you can, but drawing cards is random, and you can't save many from round to round. Use em or lose em, regardless of any sense it makes to do. Interestingly, while you get random draws, the AI seems to have a lot of very small numbers of options, so it -always- has exactly what it needs to kill you.
Every time.
So scenarios that claim they are for level 10 parties actually means you should be at least level 16 to have a chance of winning without trying it three dozen times, and it only lets you replay a certain number of times a day. Then there's that pesky luck based award system that sometimes means you need to be even stronger than that.

PvP is completely broken, with pay2win players dominating everything. Even if you chance upon a less broken player in the completely random matching system, if you weren't lucky enough to have found decent equipment in the solo play, you are again screwed. And when I say completely random, I mean it. Your arena ranking number means absolutely nothing to the game and it will happily put you up against players who are far superior to your meager crap cards repeatedly.

Good concept, good writing, wish I could see the rest of the story line, but I hate the game play too much to keep it installed on my computer.
