UPDATE 0.11.0

Finally! We’re proud to announce, that a new and very crucial element has been added to Colonies Online – weapon and armor crafting has arrived! From now on all the precious resources that were gathered and refined by colonists will be put to good use! Let’s talk about everything in detail:

List of changes:

Item crafting

  • All weapons are now divided into three archetypes – shotguns, pulse guns and rifles (more to come!) and there are new constructions to create them – "Weapon crafting stations".
  • The "Armor crafting station" has been added to the game – players are now able to create full armor sets by using it. To create any element of armor you will need at least these items: Xenodin (gathered from the strongest creatures), Iron (find the deposits in the open-world and extract the resource by using Resource Diggers or Resource Mines), and a new type of item – Armor Frames, you can purchase them from the Crafting Supply vendor at the Outpost Delta.
  • Many types of dyes were also introduced into the game – now you can paint your new craftable items as you wish. You can buy some dyes from the Crafting Supply vendor, or by fighting alien monsters.
Bonification of items
Bonification (French: "bonification") – process of improving something, adding additional value. With the release of this update, by using the new construction named “Bonification Station”, players are now able to add nice bonuses to their equipment – both to purchased and crafted items.

Using bonification randomly adds from 1 to 3 additional bonuses to the chosen item. Remember, you can only bonificate the items that weren’t improved before!

Also you can find Bonicores at Outpost Delta – devices that can improve the parameters of each of the bonuses that can be added to an item by the bonification station.

The minimum essential requirements for the bonification to work are: the item that you want to improve, and also the spare parts – you can purchase them at the Outpost Delta, or find them by fighting monsters. Spare parts differ by quality – the better they are, the less you will need to successfully run the bonification.

Changes in the traders’ assortment
  • The list of items that you can purchase from vendors at Outpost Delta has been reduced – items of level 5 and 6 are not available any more. But fear not – you can create the most powerful items in the game by yourself: find rare resources, refine their quality and make some awesome sets of armor and weapons!
Bug fixes
  • Some minor bugs has been fixed.

    Colonies Online is in Early Access state – a lot of things are yet to be developed, we’re working on improving the game every day.

UPDATE 0.10.0

List of changes:

We are glad to introduce the first bunch of test missions in Colonies Online! You can acquire them from Owen, the Outpost Delta Commander. After successful completion of any mission, return to him to gather your rewards! We will be adding much more missions in future updates, you can count these as our "test flight".


  • Resource spawning system has been fully reworked – now you can always see and differentiate resource deposits visually;
  • Now you can build resource mines only on resource deposits and nowhere else;
  • By right-clicking on a deposit, now you will see the manual digging interface. To dig resources manually, you will need resource diggers, purchase them at the Outpost Delta!
  • Resource diggers will not longer spawn on the ground when used, instead they will be instantly depleted right from your inventory.

Refinement of resources
We've added the resource refinement system into the game, now you can improve the quality of your chosen resources, but it will lessen their amount. To do that, you can use the new construction – the Refinement Station!

Each refinement station will be upgrading upon usage – the more often you use it, the better the refinement quality will be. Refined resources (especially rare ones) will play a very important role in our future updates!

Gameplay and balance changes
  • Now it will require less time to learn new abilities;
  • Parameters of all monsters has been reconfigured, we are continuing to improve game balance.

Bug fixes
  • Fixed the bug, that was causing the game crash, when player were trying to purchase items with high-level Xenodin;
  • Overall performance has been improved;
  • Some minor bugs has been fixed.

Colonies Online is in Early Access state – a lot of things are yet to be developed, we’re working on improving the game every day.

And the more Dreadnoughts are feared by enemies, the more respect they earn from their allies! With this pack you also get a number of constructions for setting up a defended post which is sure to become a convenient base for projecting your operations.

Fight with hostile fauna, conquer new territories, build alliances and march to war against each other. Build settlements, protect and develop your foothold as you like – most importantly, do not forget that it will not be so easy to survive, to preserve and increase your belongings – in Colonies Online the world is common for all, and there are many colonists besides you in the game, and all of them are operating their own interests – that means that nothing and no one is safe.

Vast areas for colonization, countless monsters, lots of planets and unexplored possibilities are right in front of you. Are you ready to take the risk?

All players in the Colonies Online are in a single game world – there are no instances, no restrictions, full interaction with others! Everything you create in the game world will be available to other players even when you're offline. System, that we’re implemented in the game, allows us to create an infinite number of planets with an area of several thousand square kilometers, so we don’t need to divide players in different game worlds, and at the same time we can ensure that there is enough place for everyone to have their own adventures.

A key feature in the Colonies Online. Colonies which players build, will be a centers of communication, research, trade and so on. Players will decide what type of colony they want to build – a secure military base for your guild or free trade spaceport, which will allow everyone to enter. Various building blocks will allow players to create a truly unique structures and security systems to protect them from unwanted visitors. Auction houses, item storages, vendors and so on, disposed on the territory of a colony – all of this will help to make a particular colony a unique place.

New Update! All planets in the Colonies Online are rich in mineral resources – you just need to find and to extract them. Some resources require large-scale approach to exploitation – building mines and long-term development. Locating deposits of rare resources and their further development can become a true adventure in remote corners of planets.

The game uses fair non-target system. In conjunction with the isometric view and WASD-controls that makes battles more dynamic – more like a fights in Action genre games than of the classic MMO fighting mechanics. Players will have to think well of their surroundings and tactics to blast their opponents and at the same time not to injure their teammates – friendly fire, you know!

In Colonies Online players can start a firefight with anyone, anywhere. Living opponents will always pose a serious threat – you will need to defend your territory to avoid becoming a victim of aggressive raids. And you can hunt for others, too – it is dangerous, but it is often worth the trophies: arms and supplies, resources and technologies of other players – all this can be taken away for good.

Game features a full character equipment system: armor, helmets, weapons, energy shields – all things that will be helpful for you to dominate in the colonies. In future, with addition of crafting, everyone will be able to make unique items from scratch!

Game will not have predefined classes, instead, there will be a wide variety of skills, from which players can create sets. By combining skills in an interesting set, player will be able to create a profession out of it and teach it to other players. And if such set will contain a rare skill, it can be profitable to sell!

Almost all items in the Colonies Online will be made by players with use of their technologies. Flexible craft-circuits will allow creating unique equipment and construction props, as well as customizing any of their parameters.

Game has an original system of "influences". By investigating patterns of substances, obtained from defeated monsters, players can explore new technologies and use the results of their research to create a more powerful equipment. However, you should be careful – cool technologies in your hands will attract greedy glances from others.

Just my EA review this will change as time goes on in the game's development

When i loaded it up and came across my first mob a bug what popped in my mind was Starship Troopers (love that movie) lol I was even thinking in my mind as i came across more bugs was "REMEMBER YOUR TRAINING AND YOU WILL COME BACK ALIVE" lol

So far i like what they have so far,but you can see its still in the EA process.If you have played Halo : Spartan Assault or Strike it kinda like that Top down shooter but in RPG/MMO form.I think with more updates this one will be a solid game once a little more spit and polish get applied.So i say keep this one on your radar!

This a very promising project game with very promising ideas and nice base building, I do recommend it, as long you do realise the Early Access is a work in progress and you arent buying a finished product, but rather, a less than half done product helping a project that may turn to something special. I also like the fact the devs do take the time to respond to people on the steam game forum so they care on the players feedback

very repetitive gameplay, and it's still lacking a lot of early-game guidance. Difficult to understand what to do, where to go, etc.
lots of potential, though and I look forward to future updates. Some fine-tuning regarding the quest system could also go a long way in the next iteration.
