“A really amazingly well thought out experience. Short but sweet (and incredibly intense!). Unique and quite powerful in narrative - right up there with things like Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, and RoboCop, in my optinion.”
Tobor Prime(Savage the shard of Goshen)

“An open world bullet hell romp unlike any other, upgrade your guns and jump in on the fun.”

“I measure a game by experience I get from it. The emotions I get from the game are as precious as thoughts I have after i exit. And your game started as an experiment. And then it provoked me to make my very frist steam review. And it was noticed by you. This whole story up until now is very good. And I am glad that I've got your game in the first place.”

This is the only game I need. After playing this game, I quit my job and dedicated my life to completing it and becoming the best Ultramilker there is. My wife said to stop playing it, it's just a game she said. I said "It's not just your average Adventure and/or Puzzle game, this is the Rush of a lifetime." as I proceed to not feed our children. They died a few weeks later. This game ruined my entire life, everything I've worked for, but it was completely worth it. 10/10 it was okay.

This game looks pretty cool IMO. However, that's all it has going for it. The camera distance is a killer. You cant see very much at all, and too much of what is happening when you roll around on your "motorcycle" is off screen. The targeting is pretty simplistic, with a movable reticule. Sadly, this was also a poor choice I think. Better if you just fired ahead IMO. Also, the WASD controls feel a little out of place as well. I would much rather seen gamepad support for this.
Overall, I feel this game had some potential, but the issues (and most notably the cameras) render this game virtually unplayable for me.
Still, you can farm cards, and I suspect most people at this point got this as part of a bundle (I did), so no great loss from a financial standpoint, but man...it's really too bad the developers didnt think this one through a bit better.

p.s. There is a 5 minute mission timer, and as I found out when I was idling the game, it starts on the main menu, not in game, so every five minutes when you are farming, you will still get an annoying alarm signaling the end of game time as it were.

//N.P.P.D. RUSH// ** I have deleted my original review due to the unnecessary mean-spirited nature of the contents. I didn't give much thought that those involved in the making of this game may ever read it or that my words may have a negative impact on someone. I also believe there is enough ugly in the world that I don't need to add to it and don't want to encourage others in spreading vitriol and nastiness.

I'll be short and blunt here:

I feel this title is undeserving of the asking price.

If you're reading this and actually struggling with the thought of buying it or not, don't. Why should you? This game will appeal to a very small group of people and chances are you're not in that group. Wait for the moment you catch it in a bundle where there's little to no risk.

Edit #2

Sometimes I hate that I have a conscience. I dislike giving a negative review to indie developers that actually develop a complete and working title. This game is a COMPLETE and WORKING title in an ocean full of crap within Steam. So, I must admit this isn't the worst purchase you can make through Steam. Although, this game doesn't touch upon any of my personal preferences and tastes, if it is at all similar to that old school vibe you fancy, then you probably only care if it is a working game. I can inform you that it is not a broken title.

Also, I have found something that I like about this game. The profile backgrounds. I know it's probably not what the developers care about, but it's the best I have to offer in a positive outlook for this game.

I do hope those involved with this title find success at some point and further develop their skills. All I can say is this, look at the negative reviews to help you grow. Don't let them discourage you from chasing your dreams.

I don't even know where to begin. Between the horrible pseudo-retro graphics and below-average run of the mill twin-stick shooting, this game is contender for one of the worst I've ever played. There were no positives to this game except that it had trading cards, and even then that was stiffled by the fact you have to play this game for around two hours to get them.

I genuinely like video games and can find even the smallest smidge of entertainment in them, even the bad ones. I was unable to find any such entertainment here. The game is a chore to play and there is no real incentive to actually do so. No plot, no real motivation besides 'do that'. Now, 'do that' isn't such a bad thing in and of itself. Mario would still be just as good of a game if it had no plot due to its addictive gameplay and responsive controls. This game is no Mario.

With a game that has no real story beyond a few lines of text, you would expect the gameplay to be unique or interesting. This has neither of those things. You simply shoot at enemies that could only be described as something the designers doodled up in the allotted hour of time they were given before the game was shipped to release and save junkies. They're reminiscent of enemies from a bad flash game you could find on a website that hasn't been updated since the year 2000. While struggling to find out if that blue blob you're shooting at is actually meant to be something other than a blue blob, you're also struggling with the controls themselves while you try to save junkies left about the city.

In a Shoot 'Em Up styled game, the most important part of that game are the controls. Why in God's green Earth would you release a Shoot 'Em Up that has blocky controls? Why in God's green Earth would you release said Shoot 'Em Up with NO gamepad support? Why is this still a thing in the year 2014? I can only hope and imagine that the developers were unable to provide players with such amenities because they had run out of time within their one hour deadline to get the game finished. It's completely unacceptable in this day and age for these things to not be resolved or dealt with.

Overall this game is rubish and that's putting it lightly. Most of whatever trivial amount of time they spent on developing this game went towards the graphics that are more cringe inducing than they are interesting to look at, and sadly that's probably the main selling point to anyone who's interested in purchasing a game like this. Skip this game, as it's not worth the time or money.

//N.P.P.D. RUSH is one crazy acid trip that I really wasn't sure was ever going to end. The game is one meaty bullet-hell gauntlet. Although the actual game has some crippling bugs, you can just about finish the goal in the alloted time.

The first major bug is that the time you get to complete your task of freeing people, actually starts before you start the game, it starts the timer on the menu screen, which is horrifying that this somehow got passed basic QA.

Game play is simple, but very very hard to master, essentially driving around on what I would assume to be a motobike saving people while dealing with hoard and hoards of enemies. This game is soul destroyingly hard and it took a lot of offline play for me to finally get to the end by pure luck.

There are far better rogue like and bullet-hell games out there, this one just doesn't cut it for me.

This game gave me cancer ... but it also gave me trading cards, so I got that going for me which is nice.

Buy this game now and you will get 82 Megabytes of pure evil and disturbing ♥♥♥♥♥♥*t. "//N.P.P.D. RUSH//- The milk of Ultraviolet" is almost as bad as "Uriel's Chasm". The graphic is retro, but not that kind of retro which you might like (e.g. Hotline Miami). The soundtrack is simply awful. The gameplay is super weird. The story becomes not accessible to me. Overall this game is not even worth 99 cents, sorry.

Game sucks I gave it a shot and I thought it was just horrible. Bad messy gameplay and the supposed draw of the old school retro acid look just makes it that much harder to see where you need to go and who to avoid or shoot.

Don't waste your time on this.

//N.P.P.D. RUSH// - The Milk Of Ultraviolet... The title of the game already suggests this probably won't be the most standard game you've ever seen. Well let me tell you this game is far from standard.

Like Rail Slave Games second game "Uriel's Chasm" this game tries to be unique with their retro look, which is OK as long as the game is fun to play, but that's the part where this game fails miserably.

You play as a robot (at least i think it's a robot) and ride around and shoot other robots and other vermin. The real problem of this game are the graphics. You hardly can see what is what, which makes the game almost unplayable but even if the graphics didn't put you off then there's the hard difficulty and the time limit.

To be honest for me there's no reason why I should want to continue playing this game but perhaps there are some people out there who like this weird style of games.... i'm just not one of them.

This game is pretty horrible. I kept playing it for as long as I did, because I wanted the steam cards. Level design is really bad, and you are driving around in what looks like a bike, but you access different floors by a stairway? It doesn't make any sense. There isn't enough time even when you buy extra time to save all 30 freaking people. Steam overlay also doesn't work. Apparently the timer also starts even if you are just sitting in the main screen.

Also, I turned the volume down in the options just for it to go back to the default once the timer expired again.

I feel like they did little to no bug testing on this game...

You know when you went to that arcade when you were really young, that one with all the cool games that all the cool kids were able to go to because they had money and stuff? You know that one and only time that your father finally said you could have one go at one of the games, and then you pick the downright coolest one in the whole place? You remember how surreal and awesome it was, and how you had absolutely no idea what you were doing but it was a total blast at the same time? And then you died like really really quickly and you didn't really understand why?

This is that game.

I sold my organs after being told of a pre-Robocop Murphy in the factory like loss of limbs and function. I drove around "saving" those too reliant on junk to function whilst suffering from the extreme blood loss I tried to profit from.

I bullet hell-ed my way around a 5 floor mall of a Verhoeven-meets-Scott future.

I put 90 minutes into a game which lasts 5 minutes before you lose without even realizing time had slipped from my mind, like the abstract concept that time is. I was lost as the window of the game warped like an age old CRT monitor, as layers of pixels and painted on cars stopped me speeding away from natural and mechanic, brutally harmful enemies shooting lasers and pins and rolling thunder, the dialogue of characters that headed over 2 screens max told me who they were, who I was, what this world was within 5 easily lost minutes.

Play it, if you get as much fun out of this as I did you'll be playing again in future, it's more than a retro-kick back, it's more than an aesthetic...despite being all about the aesthetics and aural sensations. It's entrancing. Illegal rave just outside of Bolton in a half abandoned industrial estate feelings.

And I've not completed it! I've warped the marketplace -sell organs/buy a good time via escort to up my diminishing health/buy a few more gameplay minutes from what's left of my organ-fund/get out and try to collect more addicts-, I've driven around every floor...I always die or JUST run out of time.

In that way NPPD Rush makes me recall legendary flight/trading sim Elite or its sequel Frontier, there's no winning without manipulating the game's mechanics in stores. It's simple in every element, but put together like two dozen basic melodies in hardcore pop-punk perfection, which is anything but simple.

Below you'll find both a video and written impression of the game
N.P.P.D. RUSH takes the duel stick formula, toss in some rock and roll and a bunch of cyber punk themed pixels in your face. It's a fast paced, challenging and overall enjoyable game. With that said, it's not with out it's flaws. There is a lack of features, as well as no controller support. As a twin stick, I feel controller support is quite important. There doesn't seem to be a huge degree in variety, as it's really just shooting a bunch of stuff, but luckily, shooting a bunch of stuff this game does well, and it is quite fun.

I'm not 100% if it's worth the full asking price, as low as it is, but if you are intrigued it's not terrible, just not perfect. Otherwise, I would recommend keeping an eye for a good sale, as it is at the very least, worth a check out.

- Suitable sound track for the game's theme
- Shooting dudes is fun
- Challenging
- Well themed

- Can be repetitive to some
- Lack of features
- No controller support
- Lack of variety

Sound and Music?
Where do I start. This game tries to be retro without trying to be cool. It must have started as an inside joke to put this on the market. The story is about as bad as some low-rent 90's arcarde games. The graphics are just a step above ColecoVision. The music is bad and the sound is jarring. And the name... which ties into the "storyline"... looks like the sort of thing you put into a sweepstakes name field to crash their database. Buy it for the cards or don't buy it; I hope it doesn't get achievements and throw off my completion percentages.

I take my hate of to the guys who made this game by trying and doing it with a retro style look, but they just maybe went overboard. My eyes hurt due to the crazy colors that couldn't make me concentrate on playing this game. Also the gameplay is very confusing. It's good to play once, but once is good enough.

Retro games can be good if done right - that is taking the best parts of retro games and eliminating the bad parts. While the style and sounds are good, the game has a timer in it, and a very short one at that, just like the really old arcade games from the 70's and early 80's which only gave each person a few minutes to play, no matter how good they were. I hated this back in the day and I still hate it now. Without that timer it would be an interesting game and might have some longevity to it. Death, however, comes quickly, especially when you are rushing around trying to earn enough money to extend the timer slightly.

This game isn't for everyone but will appeal to some. Just not me. I like to enjoy a game at my own pace and be rewarded for playing well, not rushed through just because it's "retro". Some things are better left in the past.

Possibly one of the strangest, most interesting and challenging games I've played recently. I would recommend picking it up for how cheap it is, just to experience its strange atmosphere and fun, bullet-hell gameplay.

Not very good at all, don't be fooled by the neon and the interesting visuals. Very poorly designed. Disorienting in a way that does not compliment the design at all, just messy. Poorly executed. Swing and a miss.

fly around at high speeds unable to see or do anything.

Seriously, that's what this game is about. I do not recommend this game to others. First of all, the resolution is terrible and there is no options what so ever in game. Second, the "arcade like" visuals are just too much for me, I am unable to see what's going on and when I'm being damaged and all that jazz.

I am all for a fast paced game, but I can't say I would ever recommend this unless it got settings, controller support, toggle new graphics option, other characters, etc

There is just so much missing to this game, I think.
