Its a great soundtrack, thats no suprise, but I do have to warn whoever reads this, that the OST is extremely outdated!

I recieved the OST as part of a backer reward long before the game made its appearance on steam (I bought it again on steam to support the devs), and the list from then is exactly the same as we have now here on steam. Now, that wouldn't be much of a problem if there wasn't any new music added to the game, although there HAS been music added in the game since 2 years ago, In fact, ingame I hear alot more of the new tracks than the older ones.

To be completely fair, the new tracks ARE tied together with higher tier/more dangerous planets and systems, as well as much of the actual storyline, so they just might of not added them to the OST yet.

All in all, its still a good OST, just warning everyone that it does not reflect what you will hear ingame for the most part (unless you stay on Gentle tier planets forever, and never touch the Story).

Decided to play starbound in real life.
Bought this soundtrack.
Started digging a moat in an empty lot to build my house.
Police showed up, told me to stop.
Told them "Do not fear, natives! I will protect you!"
Went to Jail

One of the best soundtracks made for a game!

Wow... this is just a breathtaking soundtrack! Starbound wouldent be complete with out it. Over 60 tracks for only $4.99 such a steal! Some tracks were heart touching and some you could play air drums with :3. Overall this is astonishing and is cheap to buy! This Also contains a whole bunch of experimental tracks not available in the finished game! All together the soundtrack contains a whopping 60 tracks for a total of 5 hours and 44 minutes of play time.

A typical digital album nowadays has about 12 to 15 songs for about $12.99
Most of these include singing about love and loss and jail.
Basically the same thing over and over again.

This OST has 60 instrumentals for $4.99
These tracks are largely ambient music that contain a feeling of serenity.
Your imagination can create so many scenarios from ambient music like this.

It also helps you concentrate on your all-night assignments without pulling up the actual game.

That would be very, VERY distracting.

And distracting is bad.

Bad bad.

Especially on a paper due that afternoon.

Absolutely glorious. One of Starbound's greatest defining features is its music, no matter what you think of the game itself, the soundtrack is amazing.

Pros:
- Epic soundtrack
- 60 songs for only $5. Thats a really good deal for any soundtracks/songs!
- Not just a bunch of 30 second long audio clips
- Good quality

Cons:
- Does not actually include ALL the soundtracks. Its missing key things like the "Forest" experimental tracks, and is missing other tracks I have heard so far (Of course its the ones I really want to hear too!). Chucklefish really needs to work on updating this. -Update: I have heard rumors that this will be fixed soon

A wide variety of moods and themes all done really well. Can't say I like every track, but if you enjoy the game, you'll probably find at least a few you like to hear.

I definately recomend this soundtrack, and it certainly includes some of my favorite pieces made for game/movies

One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, and I did compare it to one of my favorite games of all time, Shadow Of The Colossus, which is a must play to every one that calls thenselves a gamer.
This soundtrack, was not the simple "stay calm" from Minecraft, the "stay within' the biome" in Terraria, or even the fear and the feeling of the adrenaline pumping to your sistem in Shadow Of The Colossus, Starbound keeps you connected to your character 24/7, and the why I was always silent and calm my entire (old and deleted, thanks to God) series on YouTube, were I'd stay jerking off whoever did the soundtrack.
Doesn't feel like what would come of an Indie game, but more a triple a game with their huge (I'm looking at you, Call Of Duty) budget, which is spent in those graphics and history, that is, like one of the DooM developers said, "it's like history in a porn movie, it's there, but you don't really care" which may be in other words since my memory is sh*t.
