About This Game

Most other TCG play either with "virtual" cards or with "real" cards ( paper ). With DRAKERZ-Confrontation, you will enjoy the best of both gaming experiences in playing with your "real" premium cards , you will experience new sensations , halfway between the board game and tactical game cards. The calculation points and the cost of cards, entirely managed by the computer allows you to stay focused on the basics: the fight.

As your virtual cards (no need to camera), they are accessible from your account on any connected computer.

DRAKERZ - Confrontation is an online game where players from around the world embody Drakerz , the riders of Drakos . Alongside these mythical creatures, half-dragon, half- chimera, players compete in epic duels to register their name in the legend of Oniris , the dream world .

Drakerz really wants you to spend money, as half the monsters are locked behind paywalls (and there arn't that many to choose from). However, the game is poorly translated from French, is kinda buggy under its clean interface, and the card text isn't easy readable at higher resolutions. The unskippable and insulting tutorial tried to break on me twice, and the game itself crashed once for no apparent reason. The option to buy physical cards and combine them with a web cam for augmented reality is interesting, but given the above problems I really can't advise anyone to give it a try.

This is NOT a free-2-play game.

It's a DEMO of a game. You find the exact same limitations in demos as the 'free version' of this game places on you.
To put it bluntly, you are not going to get more time out of this product than you are from a demo of any other game UNLESS you start buying boosters.

The question then comes, of course, is it worth it to buy boosters?
For me, looking at prices and taking my experiences while trying out the mislabeled DEMO, the answer became a resounding NO.

Doing the story missions (which I did to get every unlock possible in the demo) was somewhat ok. A bit repetitve at times, due to the limitations of the game, but at least the battles were somewhat balanced.

Ability to get cards for free seemed limited to the few you got in the limited amount of solo-play missions available. The only currency in the game is hard cash, and it's not something you can 'earn' by playing (not in any games I tried at least), but purely something you pay to get boosters.

Most of the time when I queued up for online battles against other players, it told me that nobody was available to play against. So I had to alt-tab and do random stuff in a web-browser while trying to even GET games going online against other players.

Any of the battles I tried against other players were horribly horribly mismatched. There was no way the deck I was supplied with as a 'freebie'(or demo player) would compete with the decks of people I met (every one of the ones I met seemed to have paid and played for a while, given their levels and cards).

Randomization also have a huge effect on battles, meaning what initially looked like a balanced battle (as the ones I encountered in the solo missions) can turn onesided very quickly by a combination of cards gotten and mana orb placement. Battles that are already onesided can become extremely pointless beyond hope because of this too (like where my level 3 drake was put up against a level 30 drake by the matchmaking).

Unless you are planning to spend ALOT of money over a period of time to buy boosters as time goes by, steer clear of this one. The variety also seemed close to non-existent in the games I played, despite meeting levels and drakes of different types.

The poor balance, non-varietyof battles, lack of ability to progress without paying for it (coupled with the prices per time you actually consider if you should purchase something) ultimately turned me off from the game once I found out that I had exhausted the demo of its potential in a matter of 4 hours...

Some cute ideas, but ultimately flawed in execution on how they go about trying to handle the 'distribution model'.

Pros:
Great artwork.... and that is pretty much it.

Cons:
Lowsy launcher (had to restart it multiple times: their site is also very slow to load)
Terrible translations to english
Basic tutorial
Extremely unbalanced gameplay (you better damn pray to RNGesus)
Unbalanced "characters"
Errors launching and then errors ingame after about 20 minutes

Verdict: not worth your time unless you want to pay the people who made this game to get off their sorry asses and try again.

You can only play in Aug reality if you pay for it.
This doesn't deserve to be on F2P with such a misleading description.

The first 3 times I start the launcher nothing happens after I click the 'Play' button (in French).
Normally I would have deleted the game by then, but I decided to give it the fourth try, and guess what, it succeeded!

And then massive wall of text in French appears.
FFS I gave up. Sorry for not understanding French.

I will keep this as a 'No' since I can only judge this game by its Launcher. At least until the game has a bit of acceptable translation.

As far as I can tell, it's not F2P (there's no way to get more cards past the common ones without paying), it's really just a demo until you buy a starter. And buying a starter deck alone isn't actually possible, you have to buy two at once.

The gameplay is interesting and different enough, though there is a large element of luck as with most CCGs. The story mode ("legend mode") is limited to the first 6 battles per drako, and you have access to 3 drakos.

The translation is okay... It's not the sort of professional standard I expect from games, with errors in many places and some things just plain not translated, but it's really obvious what's meant so it's not much of a hinderance.

Overall, you can have some fun with it (as with many demos) but this isn't really F2P.

Pile of rubbish, many problems, lightyears before even being in Alpha. Terrible support, point blank ignorance.
So ignorant they locked the forums on here so you cant even ask for support or bug report.

They stepped up to this so very far from even prepared. Dont waste your time.

The game uses it's own launcher that is really slow at first and then does not work. Stops after about 10 minutes. Maybe if they fix it I'll try again. Stop commenting about it being slow because it's so popular. That proves they aren't ready or capable of supporting their game yet.

UPDATE: Finally got through the launcher and everything. Hit play and the game crashed. Too much effort and it still isn't working.

The persentation isnt what it really is. The idea is great, the execution is a joke. So many errors, bugs, glitches...

I wish I could delete such a game from the free to play list; every time I see this game in it I feel sick.

4/20

Not genuinely "Free to play", in my opinion, as it requires you to go out and buy cards before letting you do anything at all. Literally was only able to make an account then it told me to go buy a real pack of cards, which aren't even sold in my area let alone in English as far as I know. The game itself, or at least the first screens it gives you, is also in full French and doesn't seem to have an option for English either, even though it says it has English fully integrated. The concept is good but the company behind it didn't do it justice with this game.

I can not download it. Don't bring such a big game when you don't have enough servers where people can download it. You won't be able to download it from steam. You can download a 2 MB launcher and then have to use their launcher to download the 2GB game. The launcher is still french after your change your language to english.

The download doesn't work for us! It starts and suddenly stops.

I finally managed to download the game and I was disappointed so much. Don't waste your time here.

Despite the entire issue with the games initial download and installation (to call it horrible, nightmarish and painful would be understatement), I found the game to be really interesting.
The game essentially has two components: an augmented reality one, using a webcam and physical cards and a virtual only game (which currently is what you are playing on steam). The actual gemplay revolves around using your creature to battle the other player, using a mixture of physical attacks and spell cards. In many ways, you can think of it as using cards to fight with pokemon.
Be warned that the game is, in essence, pay to win due to the CCG nature of the game. Furthermore, since you are drawing from a deck, you are hit a little bit by RNG as well.
On the negative sides, I find the English translation to be lackluster and the developers really need to spend the money to fix that before it would be accepted by an English speaking country. Furthermore, there are a lot of bugs in the game as well, but seeing how this IS an open beta version of the game, then I'm fine with that at THIS time.
Overall, I found myself rather impressed by the game and I am currently considering putting some money up for it on kickstarter.

lol the worst launcher ever. Is this game even in english?
I have very fast internet but the website take ages to load, most stuff is in French?
I think i'll give this game a try when its translated properly, fix your launcher and have a proper translation/ speed for English speaking countries... The artwork however looks pretty nice though, sadly unplayable.

DRAKERZ started of as an augment reality trading card game, in which you need a webcam and actual physical cards to play the game, but they added a 'virtual mode' which you can play the game with a keyboard and mouse without the webcam and physical cards, which is good because options are good. Playing the game for a bit i had fun playing it, and i love how there is movement and directions to worry about and control rather than only focusing on numbers and stats, plus it looks great graphically speaking. If your having problems with the download (i also had it) just reset it and hope it doesn't get stuck again (unfortunately that's how i solved my problem but solved never the less)

UPDATE: The only con you will see in the game from what other people are saying is probably the unbalanced matches. That's about it.
