Current Status:

As described on our Kickstarter update, this first release basically allows our community to get started designing their parks, creating custom assets, and importing/sharing custom scenery.

Most modules are 70 percent complete. Each will be released in phases, with additional modules unlocked as we polish and add new features requested by the community.

Looking back, the game has branched out way beyond its original design, as we listened to our customer base. We have held focus group meetings with backers, interacted with forum members, and truly set out to build the ultimate theme park sandbox game, shaped by the community.

Full featured editor with easy to use transform tools and helper functions.

Dynamic Custom Scenery Builder. Using our build sets, or your own custom sets, create unlimited custom scenery that give your park a unique style. Objects created can saved with embedded meshes, textures, and thumbnails, then shared with friends. When finished simply drop into your library folder and they instantly become part of the custom libraries.

Extensive importing/exporting tools for easy file sharing. We have put extra effort into allowing players to easily share all their amazing designs with simple one click imports! Custom scenery, materials, lights, paths, parks and skies can be easily exported to a single file with an embedded thumbnail. When finished, simply drop into your library folder and they instantly become part of the custom library for easy inclusion into your projects.

Powerful real-time path tools. Please see the videos for a detailed view. This extremely powerful tool allows players to quickly build, layout their park with complex curved paths, walls, bridges, and foundations. You can even attach trees, meshes, or particles effects like torches that will be automatically created, and positioned, for you.

Particle Library - A few particle effects are included in this build, with the full particle editor coming in a future update. Particle effects are 80 percent complete.

Built in object libraries including shops, cafes, castle, and more... Easy placement makes creation a snap:

Flat ride library: PLEASE NOTE: Flat rides are static and just for aesthetics. The animation module is 60 percent complete and will be unlocked in a future update.

Light Library: Place lights easily with fully adjustable properties including color and attenuation;

Terra-forming. Our engine will procedurally paint your landscape based on user specified textures and parameters. 12 textures are used to accomplish the final result, so smooth transitioning is done for you. However we realize some may want to paint paths and since this tech already exists in the engine, we are looking at painting in an upcoming update (based on user request). Other than that, the terra-forming is very complete and powerful. Creating complex landscape is very simple, and easy to use.

Our next Phases Include
Phase 2:
Custom flat ride designer and animator, with ultra realistic physics. This module is one of our finest. It includes proprietary tools and technologies that allow players to build custom rides from scratch, with amazing realism, using patented technology. This module is currently 60 percent complete.

Phase 3:
Coaster construction. This module quite a lot already finished including on the fly rail type changing, coloring, station linking, rail supports, lifts, cat-walks, and more... However we want to continue to add additional features requested by the community.

Phase 4:
Music streaming with new custom DLC sound tracks.

Phase 5:
Custom train design. This module is extremely powerful and almost fully complete. Please refer to our videos for a detailed look. Here you can create almost any custom train imaginable, including importing your own custom meshes, built by you or downloaded from the community

Phase 6:
Keyframer. This powerful module is 80 percent complete and is for advanced users that want to hand animate objects and physics for that extra detailed touch. Please see video library for a detailed look.

Phase 7 Released - Custom Particle Effects, New Lighting, Dynamic Environments, and More!

Hello Everyone,

We are happy to announce phase 7 is complete. In this phase, we’ve integrated particle effects, fireworks, new lighting, dynamic environments, animated clouds, time lapse, weather effects, and more!

Theme Park Studio contains a very powerful particle engine. Users can create many types of effects using our extensive set of options and controls.

As with other modules of Theme Park Studio, particle effects are easy to use, plus fully customizable, appealing to both casual and advanced users. Casual users can enjoy a simple point-and-click method of adding particle effects to almost any scenery object, while advanced users have full access to the particle parameters for creating unique effects. We’ve introduced two new libraries: Particle Scenery and Particle Effects.

Particle Scenery

The Particle Scenery Library contains scenery objects easily placed anywhere in your scene. Like other scenery objects, simply click on the thumbnail and place the particle object in your scene. Some objects contain animated texture maps for finely detailed elements, like waterfall mist curtains. Other elements emit particles to create stunning animated visuals, like fountains and fireworks.

Particle Effects

The Particle Effects Library is useful for adding particle effects to existing objects in your scene. Adding effects is as simple as clicking on the thumbnail, and then clicking on the object in your scene you want to receive the effect. For example, if you have a cabin in your scene, click on the smoke thumbnail, and then click on the cabin chimney to instantly add smoke. The smoke effect is now part of the cabin. When you move the cabin, the particle effect moves with it. You can even attach particle effects to flat rides!

New Procedural Skies and improved lighting:

This update also includes new procedural skies and improved lighting. The new dynamic skies include animated clouds, time-lapsed lighting, lens flares, weather effects, dynamic time of day rendering, and even Crepuscular Rays, which together produce stunning results.


We added some performance optimizations, with more to come. Depending on your hardware configuration, some of you may notice a significant performance increase when running parks with guests.


Finally, we have been working hard to implement community requests while developing the phases. In this update, we are starting to roll out Undo. In this phase, you can undo coaster rail transformation and deletion. We will continue to work hard to fulfill backer requests over the next phases.

We look forward to moving on to Phase 8 and appreciate our backers working with us during Early Access.

Phase 5 Released - Custom Train Designer, New Path Builder, Updated Controls, and More!

Hello Everyone,

We are happy to announce the Phase 5 update has been released. In this update we have released our in game custom train builder. This innovative feature, found exclusively in Theme Park Studio, allows players
to quickly and easily create custom trains by snapping together pieces from the train build set. You can even mix and match pieces from different styles and coaster manufacturers, allowing you to invent your own designs,. Finally, you can paint each piece for the final touch.

We have also paid special attention to the voice of our backers. We understand that many casual users wanted a simpler path tool and updated controls. We are striving to make Theme Park Studio the ultimate theme park designer and respect our backers interests, so we built a completely new path tool. It is based on our popular coaster editor, and is very easy to use. With just a few clicks elaborate path systems can be designed with sidewalks, bridges, fences, pads, and intersections. We have even included stairs and the ability to dig into the terrain.

We also created a new control scheme called 'Basic Controls' This new control scheme provides a simpler control mechanic, and also includes helper functions like auto level at low altitudes. There is a checkbox option in Tools/Options menu that will enable/disable this feature, for those favoring the original control scheme. You will also find other control settings in the Tools/Options panel including scroll speed, rotation speed, edge scroll, and more.

Finally we added some in game design tips, to help players along their journey in creating amazing theme parks.

Below is a detailed list of new features and improvements:

'Theme Park Studio Professional Edition' is scheduled for use in 2014 by Intamin Amusement Rides to showcase their newest coaster designs.

Theme Park Studio includes Steam Workshop integration. You can now browse through libraries of Parks, Rides, Custom Scenery, and Environments built by the community, without ever leaving the program. There is also a new 'Publish' feature, for uploading your creations directly from Theme Park Studio.

Theme Park Studio has been in development for 1 1/2 years and integrates our proprietary game engine and IDE used in the serious games industry.

Using our rich toolset, players begin by sculpting their terrain, creating lakes, rivers, and raising knolls and mountains. Next, the opening gate is set and paths are placed with our easy path tools. No staggered or sharp edges here, just smoothly curved pathways procedurally built on the fly. With the click of a button, fences are created, stairs are generated, and trees are procedurally placed. Now it's time to build some rides. Coaster creation is both easy and flexible. Hi all, i thought it would be time to just write a small review about TPS from my point of view.
First of all i'm a huge fan of TPS from the beginning mainly because it is so different from all the others out there.
TPS is for me the first simulation game in which i can truly create my idea's from scratch and bring them to life.

I have been creating some flat rides already (Break Dance, Move It24 and Turbo Polyp) which i think look amazing and could bring them to life within TPS without having to know any difficult scripting language. For the casual player it is possible to just click and place these created objects as well and change all of them to your liking even without creating it yourself.
TPS is the ultimate themepark simulator for me and even during this early access stage the possibilities are huge.
Flatrides, Coasters, Theming, Particle Effects, Lights and the list goes on.

I read many people saying it is too difficult to handle but in fact it is not. In TPS you can create any park in a simple to use way but yes you have very advanced features as well which might look more difficult too handle at first but these are not needed in the first place to create a great park. Once you start playing around you will quickly find that even the advanced features are easy to handle once you know how to use them. Every game or software package has a learning curve, it either be big or small. Even in the days of RCT you had to find your way in the game before you could use its full potential.
Anyway TPS has come a long way already and with all the improvements already made and more to come i would definitily recommend this game to anyone who likes to create their own Ultimate Theme Parks. As a side note the graphics are just amazing in TPS, keep in mind to meet your computer and graphic card specs as most issues reported are related to not meeting these specs.

Thumbs up and keep up the good work Pantera! Looking out for what is all coming next.

I always used to play RCT3 (probably like everyone else). And I have to say this game is very well structured. I will give you a list comparing this game to RCT3 so you can have a better understanding of what each game brings to the table SO FAR. I say so far because this game is still in development, and it could change. Here is my opinion:

Theme park studio wins this one, it has way better graphics, and antialising makes the game look a lot better as well (if you have the graphics card for it). The water reflections look great, and the coaster detail is a lot better. HD!

RCT3 wins. RCT feels like an actual amusement park game, because it has a lot of features like the peeps, stands, money, financing, etc. This kind of stuff made you feel like you were managing your own theme park. Theme Park Studio is still in development, so they might add some more features like this soon. It just feels like more of a sandbox than an actual theme park game.

Theme park studio is by far the best editor I have come across. There are so many possibilities for coasters, you can truly make it your own. Each track segment can be edited to your liking, so you can truly make any coaster you have in mind. It is also very easy to use, with some pre-loaded segments like a cobra roll or a loop. When it comes to flexibility, TPS wins.

Although I have big expectations for TPS to have a great sound library, currently i would say RCT has better sounds. They are more consistent, and they have better variety. For example, on the megacoaster, the lift chain sound on TPS does not make much sense at all. Also, there is no fading so sounds seem to come out of nowhere sometimes. I do expect them to have better sounds in the future though.

I'm going to be honest, the TPS user interface takes some getting used to. The RCT user interface in my opinion is more understandable, and it's easier to use. TPS just kind of seems all over the place. Maybe they will update this soon, i just find it easier to play RCT instead of TPS. But then again, it's also about personal preference.

That should cover most of the basic categories. In my opinion, I prefer Theme Park Studio over roller coaster tycoon. TPS is still on the early versions, and it has A LOT going for it once they start adding people, and adding more management features. Don't get me wrong, I will always like rct, but tps seems like the next step up. That is all! I hope this helps some of you clear up some differences.

This game/simulator is UNbeliavable. For an early access game, this is impressive and has passed and exceeded by far my expectaions. I can't believe what this has come out to be. Here are the pros and cons:

+AMAZING graphics
+variety of roller coasters (more coming)
+variety of flat rides (more coming)
+terrain tools
+lighting effects
+EXTREMELY customizable pathways
+fencing and sidewalk options on pathways
+Surprisingly easy controls
+oculus rift support
+Can ride rollercoasters in 1st and 3rd person
+WELL worth the money
+steam workshop-you can create and import items into you're park
+many more-I could easily go on. and on, and on

-Buggy controls
-sometimes random fps drops
-sometimes crashes randomly (save you're work!)
-no "undo button" (would LOVE TO SEE THIS!)
-No fullscreen-Always in windowed mode
-Sound needs improvment. During the lifthill, it sounds like an airplane is about to take off...

So, it comes down to the final question: Do I reccommend this game? HANDS DOWN YES!!! This is the BEST value for what you get and show them that you love this and tell them that you like what their doing by BUYING this game. If you don't have this game, you're missing out...seriously. I'd also suggest buying it from their kickstarter extension because it's a better value-that's what I did:

Theme Park Studio is a great game for those who like games like the RCT series. There is a learning curve to this game but the more you play it the more you will learn to love the game. The learning curve is about like going from RCT2 to RCT3 except you are now going from RCT3 to TPS. There are still minor problems but that is why this is still in a beta type game play. The developers have listened to the players about the problems and this game is night and day different from the first day this game became active. There are still 2 more phases to go so I am excitedly but patiently waiting for their release. The one thing I love about this game is that you are not limited to what you can do. If you are patient, CREATIVE, and willing to learn the sky is the limit for you with this game. The freedom with the roller coaster design, animation, buildings, and even making your own flat rides the possibilities are limitless! If you are not creative and like things cut and dry you will find this game difficult. But give it a try I think you will like it. I do!

Theme Park Studio has come a long way since the very first stage with the release of the current phase (particle effects). With this release amazing effects are possible, from dynamic skies to waterfalls and more.

During the development of this game many things were changed or added at the suggestions made by the community; the coaster builder was made easier along with the building of paths. You can curve your paths, add items along the path automatically which was not available in other games. Edge scrolling was added, the controls have the option to be made easier (basic in the tools/options menu).

And with the release of phase 7 many great particle effects were added.

One of the greatest Games ever was and still is the RollerCoaster Tycoon Trilogy.
RCT3 banned me on my PC because I really love RollerCoasters of all Kind.
To build them and to take a ride on my creations (since RCT3) was great!

BUT RCT was yesterday, TODAY is "Theme Park Studio" from Pantera Entertainment!

TPS is a Early Access Game that means the Game isn't finished yet and it also means that you don't have to wait till Full Release (which will cost more than now), you can buy it right now and play it and if you want, help the developers to make it better and better!

The whole Set of Tools is really powerful you will seek for that in thousand other games but you will not find them!!! Some are very easy and some are more advanced!

The WorldTool is great. Build your world with Brushes and paste everything on it (Trees, bushes, flowers) you can also search for a heightmap and load it into TPS! With one click you have the "ground" of (maybe) Europe or Africa or just a little part of our World you can "play" with!

Build Paths and let them go thru your Park like a silly snake! And STOP the Path with just hitting ESC! Make your path small or wide, let trees, benches, lanterns etc. be added automaticly!

Build finished Flat-Rides or build your own with different kind of shapes and let this shapes rotate, move and so on with powerful animation Tools!

The Coaster-Editor is really awesome! Choose your Coastertype and start to build the craziest Coaster ever! My personal favorites since the finishing of the complete Phase 3 is the Mine Train and the Wooden Coasters!!!

Every part you set into your world can be moved, resized, rotated and saved for later needs in your librarys!
Let your library grow and grow and build YOUR ultimate Theme Park that you ever wanted to have!

The ONLY thing that is NOT possible in your Park is BECAUSE YOU did't imagine that!
People with the biggest imagination (or craziest) will have the best Parks :)

Everything you need to do is to back up those Guys at Pantera Entertainment directly on Steam or give them back up on kickstarter (where you have more options on being part of this Project and also to get the Platinum Edition)
Belive me: You will say: EVERY cent I paid for it is worth!

As a Roller Coaster Fan I really like Theme Park Studio.

I'M currently creating my buildings, which I want to use in blender and it is very easy to import this creations into TPS. Of course you have to take some topics into acount, but when you have imported this models, it is fantastic to walk through this models and watch them from all sides.

As this "walking" in blender is not possible in a real time walk, I'm wondering how TPS could do this. Great work! It is also very easy to build your roller couster around this buildings and to drive with this coaster and to see the fantastic world you built by your own.

Of course TPS is currently not ready and there are still much things to do, but it is great to see the game growing with every release. The community is really helpful and I like to share my models within the workshop.

For me it is essential, to start already know and I thank the developer for that, because creating realistic buildings needs time. This is exactly the time I need to create my building and to learn in parallel the usage of Theme Park Studio. When TPS is then ready for release, I hope, that my buildings are also ready, to easily add them to my park and walk virtually through it.

But please don't expect a game which is already finalized. It is currently not. Take the advantage to include your ideas and be part of the creation of this game. I think it is really worht the time!

theme park studio is more then just a game it is the ultimate simulation game that lets you build any coaster imaginable the flat rides are amazing the graphics are awesome the trees look real this game reminds me of game that i used to play was roller coaster tycoon 3 its is WAY BETTER then rct3 i personally recommend this game to any one who loves buliding a theme park i rate this game out of 10 to 10 p.s keep up the good work tps

If your idea of a Theme park game is mainly focused around how much profit your park makes then Theme Park Studios probably isn’t the game for you. If on the other hand you see yourself as a very creative person who like to let their imagination run wild then you have come to the right place, Theme Park Studios will be one of you best buys. Theme Park Studios isn’t even finished yet and it’s pretty amazing already.
Once you get started and get used to the control system, which to be honest are pretty simple, then you can start to create you dream park with almost no limit in terms of creativity. Everything has its own menu and is simple to use, you can even import your own 3D objects with no fuss at all. You don’t have to know any form of code.
If you think this is the game for you keep in mind that it’s not completely finished yet and you can help test it. If that appeals to you then go for it. Enjoy!

GREAT GAME! Its really good. Really the only downside is it takes some geting used to and theres not a lot of types of roller coasters to choose from.

The game is great! Amazing detail and smooth coasters. The new sound effects are realistic and textures are very high quality. The game does sometimes stop for about a miniute when I try to make a custom coaster train but I understand that the game is still early in development which is why it is early-acces. Overall it is a great game. I do realy want to see water rides in new updates because it will make some parks so much better (not that they are bad). 9/10 :D

As a major roller coaster tycoon fan I had to give this a try. The first thing that struck me was how much customization you can give your coasters over RCT. Gone is the grid of RCT! With TPS you can freestyle your coasters any way you want to. I'm excited to see more re-creations of real world rides on the workshop. Right now (phase 4) there's many coasters to choose from that you can build such as wooden and steel. I haven't really touched onto the scenary and flat rides however, so I'm not sure how they are, but I've heard good things about the customization of those.

-Easy to use interface
-Lots of customization
-Workshop integration
-Build amusement parks!

-None really, just be sure you know your purchasing a early access game. I bought this game for $15 on sale during the winter sale. Not sure if it'd be worth $30 at its current state though.

9/10! I recommend buying it when it goes on sale.

This game is awesome even though it isn't finished yet. However you are limited to what you can do right now until further updates. So if you plan to get this game then you might want to wait if you think you're going to get the game then do everything you want in it. I give this game 8/10. Will edit when game is finished.

Early Access Review
For people who loved playing RCT3 in the past. This game beats it in so many ways.

It runs really well and the game can handle more stuff in your park than in other rollercoaster park games before.
For players who like to create and import their own 3d models into the game. This game cuts the process of importing by a very large amount. It is as simple as exporting the model and importing it into the game. Much hassle by a long shot.

The game is still in development, but with each new phase, highly requested and relevent options are given to the players to make their park more lively.

Sadly there isn't any "peeps" yet so your park looks rather deserted till they finally implement it.

The coaster creation system feels new and may take just a little to get used to how it works, but after an hour or so of messing with the options it will feel like second nature.

Overall I give the game an 8/10. It still needs improvement and I do find bugs once in awhile, but I logged around 100 hours and enjoy being creative.

Here is a picture of my recreation of Disneyland, CA that I have been working on. Almost everything is my own CS and the game has yet to slow down at all. Very well optimized to handle these things

This game is simply the best theme park game. The shear ammount of things you can do is huge. I played alot of rct3 and after a while i seen this game, and once that happened, the game wasnt released and i waited patiantly for the game to come out, and i bought it as soon as i possibly could before roller coasters were released. The game even without roller coasters is amazing, so if you buy this game, be sure to learn everything you can because there is a learning curve, but once you get passed that you will be impressed. This game isnt like rct3 where if you wanted to make a unique roller coaster with hills and loops exactly the way you wanted you couldnt. Now in this game if you want your drop to be so steep, you can. So if you want an amazing theme park game. This is your game.

Fantastic Game!!!


Lot's of Flexibility with Coaster Building
No / Optional Grid allows for smooth inclines, declines, turns, and banks
Impressive Custom Scenery Features


Very, Very unintuitive. Even somthing as simple as placing paths can become a challenge
UI needs a lot of work


Overall, I reccomend this game. It's very enjoyable, despite that it is difficult to enjoy. However, this game is on Early Access, so my dissapointments will probably be fixed. It is safe to say that I will be revisiting this game for years to come!

So what can i say hmmm

if your looking for a new version to RCT3 then this isnt the game for you,
if your looking for a mix between rct and no limits then yes this game is for you.
i say game but its more of a simulator than a game but all this could change as its early access.

its still pretty early in development imo but it seems to be a good foundation so far.
im happy with my purchase as i know that later down the line i will be putting many hours into this as the content gets released.

atm 4/10 but this will change by the time beta will be here.

good but lacking in content atm but still promising

This game is a godsent for fans of the genre.
If you liked any of the rollercoaster tycoon games then this is a no brainer to buy.
The biggest thing you have to over come is the learning curve with the controls of the game which should only take about an hour or so. once you figure it out its amazing.
big upsides about the game.
-Fantasic Graphics
-Extreme flexibility for your coasters
-Ability to make your rides EXACTLY how you want them to look

With the new Train Editor coming in the near future and more rides and coaster types, this game gives your the most customization in the rollercoaster game to this day.
Confusing interface (which hopefully will be changed in the future)
Adding custom audio is a huge pain in the neck
Fairly large learning curve

Tons of potiential for this game
Best Rollercoaster Sim on the market
