Be The Hunter! FREE DLC, Fixes & More

June 27th, 2014

The most anticipated update is finally here! Enjoy the whole story from a different angle. Take the role of the Hunter and catch the Runner before he escapes. All tracks were rebalanced exclusively for Hunter Mode to bring you a true hardcore skill-based experience.

Take the challenge! To oppose an outstanding runner you must become a superior chaser. To get all three stars in Hunter Mode you need not only to run through the track but to collect all bonuses and perform all tricks before catching our infamous escapee.

You want more? No problem! In the upcoming weeks we plan to add Technopark Bonus Tracks for both game modes.

Oh, we also implemented some bug fixes. Those who had game crashes during the intro should be able to play now.

Please, check out the updated version of Vector. Do not hesitate to describe your technical issues in an appropriate thread , if you still have experience them. Your feedback is important for us!

The Hunter Is Nigh, Also Other Cool Stuff

May 31st, 2014

First of all, we sincerely apologize for being silent for so long. From now on I'll do what I can as a new Nekki's moderator on the Steam Community Forums. You can address me any questions you need to be answered.

Many developers in Nekki can't pay enough attention to Vector, because of intensive work on… Vector|LAB! We are proud to announce the sequel to our beloved game! Our hero wakes up in the middle of experimental scientific complex and tries to find his way out. But what about other subjects? Why are there no personnel? What awaits him on his run? You will get all the answers as soon as we complete the game. Right now I want to give you this pretty art . It's just a glimpse into the lab. More stuff coming soon!

Since winter we've been using all our resources not only to improve old ideas, but to create something brand new. We are planning to release all the downloadable content mentioned before and even more! Hunter Mode is to be released before the end of July. After that we’re going to polish Level Editor. It’ll be available with support for Steam Workshop and Steam Cloud! Keep in mind, all these cool features will be released as FREE updates.

About the Game

Vector is an exciting, arcade-style game featuring you as the exceptional free runner who won’t be held down by the system. The game opens with a view into a totalitarian world where freedom and individually is nothing more than a distant dream. But the heart of a freerunner is strong, and you so break free. Run, vault, slide and climb using extraordinary techniques based on the urban ninja sport of Parkour all while being chased by “Big Brother” who’s sole purpose is to capture you and bring you back.
Inspired by the practice and principles of Parkour, Vector’s intuitive controls please players of all levels, and sophisticated level designs challenge the most demanding players with fast-paced timing puzzles as the traceur “flows” over the rooftops.

Vector for Steam will become even more unique thanks to controller support (already implemented) and two new game modes that will be delivered as free DLC soon after the release:

- Hunter Mode: Tired of being chased? Start fighting on Big Brother’s side and hunt down opponents to shock them with your trusty taser!
- PC exclusive Level Creator: Build your own dystopian stage with Nekki’s user-friendly editor or tweak the game rules changing the game’s XML files!

The best parkour-inspired action game! Vector lets you break free and run! Don’t get caught!

Now i must admit that i thought i was going to like this game and i do just wasent prepared for how much of my time it was going to take up.
Started playing the game and thought "Ok the graphics are ok,sounds ok and the gameplays ok",then something happened i got addicted to the simplicity of the game and also trying to beat the levels with all the challenges and items found on those levels.
The game just gets more challenging the further in you get and although you dont really understand whats going on (something about running with some information you shouldent have) it doesnt seem to matter as its all about the chase and trying to get to the end of the level having done and finished all challenges set before you.
Now i know its a game that has been available for tablets and the like but it does have a place on steam and is quite a challenging little game to play (i still havent finished all challenges myself and need to play again as i really want to best every level).
There are items to collect and moves to buy (these are esential in getting that perfect score on later levels as the moves are part of the levels) and also one special item that will help with the gaurd who seems to be constantlly chasing you (on one level i could actually see him wearing a red shirt as in STAR TREK as on one level you seem to leave behind that many of them dead-either they make a jump you do and fail or they make a slide you do and fall to oblivion)
In closing its a game that will divide opinion and should be taken for what it is an enjoyable little game that somehow put a spell over me until i had just acheived that one more perfect level.

Good game. Simple, funny and challenging. Interesting achievements, which are reasonable and possible to get. I'll play sequel for sure.

Parkour at its finest. Simple game with great graphics. Vector is quite challenging for something that only requires cursor keys to play. Also, I enjoy the fact that I'm learning a ton of the unique Parkour moves without physically doing them myself.. I've seen too many bodily injuries from all of the Parkour Youtube videos for me even to consider putting myself though that sort of punishment.

A very nice game

Likes:
-A unique method of story telling
-Cool art style, its 2-d but can appear 3-d.
-Simple controls

Dislikes:
-Its a little restrictive, tricks and sprinting are only doable at certain parts
-Microtransactions
-The guards are a little glitchy at times for me

All in all, its a great game, I don't believe its worth paying $7.00 for, I bought it at a sale for 99 cents I think, thats a perfect price because this game is fun and a cure of boredom if you don't want a big, complicated game. It is definitely a step up from the mobile version in in-game currency value, and fps (its so much smoother)
