Miksi Early Access?

Due to the free-form nature of Defenders of Cardom's upgrade system, it is extremely hard to balance new towers and enchantments as the game's scope grows. Along with this, the final vision for the game has a large amount of very varied levels and mechanics, which brings lots of bugs and balancing issues.

Early Access will allow us to grow the game to a much fuller and well balanced extent, as our limited resources greatly restrict our QA abilities.

Roughly 10 - 16 months, depending on final scope of the game's content

The core gameplay loop is finalized, but the game needs a lot of polish still. I plan to greatly expand upon the number of levels and cards, scope of the hub-world, and adding in smaller mechanics to both levels and the hub-world.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The early access version has all the mechanics listed in the "About this" section. The current number of levels and size of the overworld is still small, but the levels that are finished are considered fully developed.

The price is planned to be increased following its release out of early-access.

Miten yhteisö otetaan mukaan kehitysprosessiin?

Feedback in terms of card, level balancing, and bugs is extremely important for polishing the game, especially as the scope of the cards in the game increases. Suggestions for new cards or mechanics is also important. We plan to carry out regular balance surveys, and eventually create a community Discord in order to gather feedback and showcase development.

Defenders of Cardom is a deck-builder tower defense game. You play as The Squire, who is on a quest to stop The Dark Lord's reign of terror!

Strategic Deck Building!

Build a starting deck and refine your strategy in order to defend against hand-crafted waves of enemies!

Hone and adapt your strategy mid-level with deck-builder roguelite inspired deck building, which creates varied playthroughs, even on the same level!

Adventure Across Cardom!

Freely explore the world of Cardom in the hub-world, which incorporates RPG elements in order to tell the unfolding story of the Defenders of Cardom!
Meet quirky characters and learn about the light-hearted, slightly satirical, kingdom of Cardom (or not, the story is totally optional).

Unique Levels!

Every level has its own unique boss, map, waves, and sometimes even mechanics! Each level provides a fresh experience, whether it be with the level-exclusive boss fight, or interactable objects with special mechanics, each level has something new!

Play forever in Endless Mode, which has its own unique maps and carefully crafted, procedural wave generation, providing limitless content!

Tons of Cards!

During your adventure, you can unlock dozens of different cards! Every card unlocked brings a whole new world of strategic opportunity!

Hero cards are your "towers". Using their unique abilities and attacks, they each fill their own distinct role in your defense!

Enchantment cards enhance a heroes abilities when used. Unlike other tower defense games, upgrades can be applied to any hero in a sandbox style upgrade system!

Spell cards are flashy, fun, and satisfying effects! They vary from small utility effects, helpful boosts, and some can even wipe out entire waves!

Mix up the way you play!

Customize and vary your playstyle with one of many relics, which each give a distinct bonus, but not without a drawback...
