Buy DCS: A-10C Warthog - DLC

“DCS: A10C Warthog is a tremendously – and at times obscenely – demanding game. You will experience cranial overload, and you will, unless you're a devout ED disciple, curse the developer for being so damned cryptic. But for those who favor stepping into the shoes of a real pilot who flies but a single plane, and for those who are willing to commit fully to a program that may well take months to evolve, this is the current peak of the genre.”
8/10 – IGN

“DCS: A-10C Warthog isn’t for everyone—this is a simulation that demands dedication to reveal its true worth, and only those prepared to put in the time and effort to mine its treasure trove of avionics challenges will see that reward. The Hog is a relatively easy aircraft to fly, but doing so while battling armed forces with this brutally realistic weapons delivery platform is one of the most challenging—and intensely satisfying—undertakings you’ll ever face in a PC flight sim.”
92/100 – PC Gamer

Insanly detailed in every way, from A-10 model itself to the detail in it's handling.

This game is the apex of flight simulation and will probably end up spoiling you due to the level of detail.

It's perfect, but READ THE MANUAL. Otherwise, this game isn't for you. It's way too hardcore if you don't take the time to learn it. Yes, you LEARN this game. Not play it.

If you want a challenge get this game.

At some point in the cold war people were very afraid of the russian tanks and somebody had the bright idea to build a big ♥♥♥ gun to kill them. The gun was cool, could kill tanks, but couldn't move and was an easy target for said tanks... But some smart engineers thought, WAIT, what if this gun could fly around and shoot tanks from the air!?

The Warthog was born.

DCS:A10C manages to capture me now for nearly a year and I swear everyone should get this and try his hand, not just a few hours jumping in, but really trying! It truly deserves the title 'Study-sim' and the amount of ♥♥♥♥ you can do is unbelievable. Even after a year I still discover new functions, quirks and little tricks.

But even a noob can have great fun just shooting that gun on an airfield or just try his hand at landings. Once he gets past setting up his joystick of course. :)

Question : You guys want to know how difficult it is to learn to fly this beast?

Answer : You gotta have to write down a check-list upon starting-up, before take-off, Navigation, Landing & So-much more! You gotta have ALOT of time spent into learning this plane. already spent 50+ hours learning this beast!

Remember that our plane has an eject button

From dodging SAMs at 20 ft above the deck to firing Mavericks from 10 miles away to dropping into a 30mm gun run in a 30 deg dive, this sim has it all. Granted, this is a study sim, so it's not for everybody. But if you want to know what flying a real A-10C Warthog feels like, you're not gonna get any closer unless you join the Air Force as an officer and hope the A-10 program doesn't get shutdown. Plus the BRRRRRTTTTTT is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ic. 30mm/10 would BRRT again.

When I was a little boy and first time saw the movie Top Gun I wanted to become a fighter pilot. Due to bad back I was never able to make it as a real life fighter pilot though, and ended up being a tank gunner instead. Since then I had kinda forgotten my ambition for fighter planes, until I started playing DCS. The warthog module especially has become a dream come true for me. The immersion is just unreal. You actually feel like flying a plane. I have since bought myself trackIR and Thrustmaster's warthog joystick to increase the experience and I just love this module even more.

Now all I wish someone would just make an F-14 module and my life is complete :D

This is a well modeled module very detailed for serious flight simmers.

Its also a button simulator...

But keep in mind that playing this module is HARD unless you read and LEARN the huge manual, plus you also need a HOTAS joystick (atleast above average Joystick) or this game isnt for you, coz there is a LOT of switches you need to use before going attack.

For serious flight simmers who got a "great" joystick, I do recommend this....if not, its just going to be very time consuming.

Holly crap, do not get this game with the idea you will be out there like Maverick from Top Gun. This is a sim that will force you to lean the systems and then how to fly. Once you have that all down you can learn how not to get shot down by an SA-6 or SA-11. If you don’t know what that is and don’t want to spend the time learning keep on looking for another game. Also if you get into it, plan to spend some money. After breaking down for the Warthog HOTAS (Joystick and throttle), MFG Crosswind flight pedals and Oculus Rift I realized I might have a problem and should seek out group therapy for my addiction. If you get into this sim it will consume you as well as the 600+ page manual (Office max will print bind and ship for about 50$) you will be spending a lot of time with this aircraft. If you’re still reading you should have already realized this is the sim for you and downloaded it!!

Words cannot describe how amazing this thing is. For those who afraid to buy it because it's hardcore and all, know this:
I've started getting into sims not too long ago, and was in for Space sims, wasn't at all concerned with plane sims at that point. For price reasons in my country, I've happened to get my hands on the holy grail of joysticks (HOTAS actually...), the Thrustmaster Warthog. When I've bought this amazing stick I knew back then that it's built to pair wonderfully with this sim, Though I was too afraid to buy this sim yet because I've thought it's too hardcore to be fun. So at the start I've played the space sims, Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen's alpha (that game actually made me buy the stick in the first place). Later on, mainly due to the shortage of simulation games fit for such a joystick, I've tried War Thunder. Only recently I've felt I cannot delay it any longer. So I've picked up this sim. And oh boy, I'm glad I did. I might end up knowing (theoretically of course) how to fly a jet. How awesome is that?? Besides, The game might be hardcore, but it isn't frustrating as I thought it will be. The learning of the plane systems is actually fun! I could go and destroy stuff with this plane's giant-♥♥♥ machine gun in 2 days! To summerize, this is really, really a well made sim, it isn't for beginners, true, but if you have at least some experience with controlling a flying vehicle in other games, this will be a very good addition. For the money you get a lot - 40$ for who-knows just how much time of just learning all the stuff, not to mention mastering and all... Gametime for money here is extremely good. And damn, the kills are so satisfying. Not because they're insanely hard, but because it feels so real. 11/10 I don't regret buying this for a split second.
