Why Early Access?

“All of us in our studio are huge fans of roguelike games, and have followed many of them through their Early Access. We believe that creating a fun and creative action roguelike with dozens of hours and content and an exhilarating co-op experience, requires a deep connection with fans of the genre and the community. We believe Early Access provides a great avenue for that interaction, in a way that ensures that the game’s vision meets the player's needs and expectations.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We want to make sure that Champion Shift’s full version is released when we feel, together with the community, that the player experience is as good and fun as it can be. Reaching the appropriate milestones in our roadmap while incorporating player feedback is central to our path forward, and we want to make sure the game achieves a high level of quality, depth and fun before a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Champion Shift will include lots of features and content we will be developing during the Early Access, and will be introduced in our development roadmap. These include additional game modes with leaderboards, new boss fights with an ever increasing level of over-the-top action, at least 4 more Champions, with more to come as content updates after the 1.0 release, additional story elements to guide the player through the world and story, the Primal Power system, which serves as a way for players to customize their builds, and much, much more. This roadmap will be constantly updated and adjusted as the game evolves into its final shape, and we will do it step by step with all of you in our community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Champion Shift’s Early Access features a core Roguelike and Bullet Heaven gameplay experience we believe has tons of fun elements, and at the same time, is ready for feedback from players. At the moment, the game includes both single player and 4-player online co-op, 6 Champions, 6 core stages with additional variations, and over 50 unique abilities. Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are planning to adjust it to a higher price once the 1.0 version is released. This price increase would only affect new players, and in no way affect existing owners. So by joining us in this Early Access, you can get the game for a reduced price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The feedback from the community has been incredibly useful in the development of the game, and we look forward to continuing this two-way communication with all fans. By constantly gathering feedback in our Discord, talking online to players and implementing the positive adjustments this process creates, we aim to deliver on the vision that is Champion Shift.
