Not gone, but a lot has been going on (That Ryhmes...)

Hey everyone. I know it's been quite a some time since we have posted or patched the game.

It's been a very complex ride after the release, and I will go more into it in another post.

What I wanted to get out there was that we are still alive and we have not just abandoned you, but there were logistical things that had to take priority.

In my next post I will ellaberate on that more directly, as I can not at the moment. But to say the least, please bare with us.

About This Game

Suit up as an operative of the Ark Corporation, sent to the farthest reaches of the universe in search of habitable planets to terraform. However, after the long space journey you awaken from cryosleep to find that your ship has gone way off course and is disabled near a strange new world. With no choice but to descend to the surface and figure out how to survive long enough to complete your mission, you step into the escape pod.

Along the way you’ll gather resources to craft armor, weapons, facilities, and vehicles to help you explore the world and conquer its aggressive inhabitants. Your base of operations will evolve from a few basic facilities exposed to the elements into a hardened fortress full of advanced technologies that let you accomplish amazing improvements to your equipment and alter the environment itself.

Be careful, though; almost everything down there wants to kill you, including fierce laser space sharks, artillery-toting polar bears, wickedly quick jetpack penguins, and even crazier horrors. Out on the Edge of Space, you must adapt or you die. Good luck, ArkCo Operative!

Key Features

This one of those games you hear about that open to Early Access and then drop the game as soon as they get some money from it. These developers should be blacklisted by companies as con artists. This game should be taken down from Steam.

Terrible game. Unpolished. no clear instructions. Horrible controls. Disgustingly random. So many unnecessary and pointless things. If I tryed I could come up with more bad things about this game but I don't even want to waste my time on this game.

The amount of unfinished game in this is a slap in the early adopters faces. There is a reason I have decided no more earlyy accesss games and this game is one of the reasons.

I've played Terraria for years now and have been searching for games alike to Terraria. Ednge of Space is a great game to play if your a fan of Terraria or basically like sandbox games. Its a decent game, but other than the content in Edge of Space, I'd love to see the game Improve.

Time for a new review!

Game has advaced quite a bit. I see improvements in every aspect of the game, and I have not had it uninstalled verry long. (4-6 months?)

Artwork is charming, and extremely detailed. Please dont expect crappy 8 bit GFX like Terraria, this work is especially beutiful when you zoom out and see all of the things happening around you.

The planets where populated before but there was sort of a dead feeling about the planet. It is now springing with life and everything us useful, and well though out.

The AI blows Terraria out of the water. Everything has its own attack mode. None of this flying eyeball crap. They really seem to be flying, and your shots seem to really knock them around in a physically correct manor. (physics engine?)

Compareing this game to terraria or Starbound is silly though. It is like comparing Super mario to metroid. (2d platform game yes, same game NO).

Wish there was controller support. I made some profiles for Xpadder and Pinnacle profiler that the developer stickied. It seemed to work OK, it would be neat to see it as a core feature though. Might open the door to releasing this on Xbox1 and PS4 with the right untiy exporters, and default bindings. Then we could play with a lot more people :)

Community is nice. Developers are nice too, and they try to respond in a timely mannor in the forums to serious posts. (seriouscat.gif)

If you have ever been a fan of platform games, weather it be Donkey-Kong in the 1980's or recent games like starbound, you should give this game a shot!

For 75% off what do you have to lose?

The other reviews are bad because they want this to be Terraria 2, or Starbound 2.... It is a completely different game. Most of the other reviewers seem like a bunch of bed wetting little kids too, so please take that for in account when you read them. I think the oldest one is about 9 years old it seems.

Also THE MAKER OF TERRARIA IS A BIG FAN OF THIS GAME !!!! They even let this game have the Sketon thing as a cameo boss for Terraria fans.

The community here is a lot more mature as well. Most of the Terraria fans are really young children. This is more of an adult game, with its own style, and its own gameplay!!

Tl:DR... THIS IS NOT TERRARIA 2... THIS IS NOT Starbound 2!!!! This is a completely diferent game with simular elements.

BTW I own Terraria, and Starbound... This is a great addition to my collection. The rest of the platform survival games are really nothing compared to this game and its community.

Personally, I like it.
It's not like I played a ton or anything but its still all gud. I got it early when it was $12 and it wouldnt run on my old af pc. So I got a new one and tried it out. Terraria in space boi. I somehow got anyother copy of the game for free. idgaf what other people say but If I were you I would wait for a sale before buying dis game. Just sayin!

If you really want what this game says it gives, Starbound is a better option. But if you really want it wait for a sale. A summer sale. This summer sales its on 3.74 maybe you can buy it. I don't know. Or If you really dont want to spend money on it come to me. I have a copy I would trade with you.
5/10 Would wander aimlessly again

I bought this game almost the same day it was released as early access, at first i really enjoyed it and it showed a lot of promise. But it quickly became appearent that the developers really didnt have a well thought out plan for their game. I've seen the leveling and crafting system completely overhauled several times over and in the end they settled for a complete illogical mess.

They then added dungeons and bosses, which are also a complete mess and some of the most boring things i've ever encountered.

They added some more biomes with quirky and severly annoying and overpowered creatures. They are incredibly annoying and can spawn in large numbler right on top of you. They move erraticly and in all manner of illogical ways and this combined with the horrible combat system makes it all just painful. They didnt add enough biomes in the game either so the last one is just a barren lifeless landscape with nothing to explore.

Considering the vast number of other good sandbox sidescrollers out there i really dont see any reason for you to purchase this one, especially not now since the dev's have completely abandoned it before completetion.

Permabanned on forums for pointing out, the devs pushed out beta updates, which added content, but locked that content behind drops that were unattainable, so noone could test said new content, this was about a year ago.
Since then they pushed to release and have since bailed, even the Community manager moved to pastures new, while the dev team hire themselves out as 3rd party coders (sorry that should probably read as 3rd rate coders).

Full release still has a lot of unfinished content, and serious game breaking bugs, esp where multiplayer is concerned, so far the devs have blamed " logistical things" for their abscence, with a more detailed explanation forthcoming...but coming up for two months later and those things are still restricting them, but doesnt stop them playing a lot of Overwatch...go figure.

This game had the potential to be good. It isn't. Sloppy control elements, lack of explanation, bad controls and no map in a 2d world builder. If you are interested in this genre of creativity and open world steer clear.

I wanted to Like it Honestly.

But its not complete by anymeans an EA Title that should of stayed in EA till was complete when you purchase this there is no end the the devs never completed the other zones. Still has bugs Multiplayer has it issues the UI after extended play will lag forcing restart of the game.

Truely do Feel let down.

One off the best examples of why you should not buy Early Access games. What the other reviuwers say is true. Dont buy early access.

Don't touch this game with a barge pole. There are too many things to list that are broken; while I can accept this with early release game, this title has been released as finished.
I write this review after I had been waiting for an update/patch to arrive, hoping it would transform the game in to something I always hoped it would be. Approaching half a year later, with very little from the developers, it's time I made sure others don't make the same mistake I did, purchasing this game.

Save your money buy Terraria, which coincidentally has just received another great update.

This is a truly horrible game. I bought it in the very beginning when it was first released and soon realized that it was not ready to play. I walked away from it for a good several months and then tried again, same deal. Then I waited about a year and tried again, still ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I finally tried it again a few months ago and found that it was no longer in beta and still just a horrible piece of ♥♥♥♥ game. Do not buy.
