About This Game

Suit up as an operative of the Ark Corporation, sent to the farthest reaches of the universe in search of habitable planets to terraform. However, after the long space journey you awaken from cryosleep to find that your ship has gone way off course and is disabled near a strange new world. With no choice but to descend to the surface and figure out how to survive long enough to complete your mission, you step into the escape pod.

Along the way you’ll gather resources to craft armor, weapons, facilities, and vehicles to help you explore the world and conquer its aggressive inhabitants. Your base of operations will evolve from a few basic facilities exposed to the elements into a hardened fortress full of advanced technologies that let you accomplish amazing improvements to your equipment and alter the environment itself.

Be careful, though; almost everything down there wants to kill you, including fierce laser space sharks, artillery-toting polar bears, wickedly quick jetpack penguins, and even crazier horrors. Out on the Edge of Space, you must adapt or you die. Good luck, ArkCo Operative!

I really want to enjoy this game, sadly I cannot. There are many UI problems and the whole thing seems too archaic and clunky to operate. Even with the tutorial videos I find myself struggling with basic things that even checking the key-mappings don’t reveal. One such example is how do you change the orientation of an object you are placing? How do you make that bed face left instead of right? The entire game is frustrating in this respect.

The developers appear to have disappeared. Even the Handyman Studios website has long gone down.

Edge of Space is far from a finished product, yet it appears that the Devs pushed a 1.0 release, a few fixes post release, then abandoned the whole game.

Most disappointing, particularly as the game was sold with “Official Terraria” themed objects suggesting it would be a game of the same standard. It is not.

Thoroughly disappointing and in it’s current state I would have to say a very clear “DO NOT BUY”.

Nearly kickstartered this mess. Glad I didn't. Wish I hadn't bought it anyway.

You will be plagued with trouble with this from the get go. Poor design choices coupled with lazy shortcuts and overall an incomplete and utterly unpolished final product.
If you manage to get through the awful tutorials and figure out the meat of the game, you still wont have any fun with it.
Not as bad as starforge but heading into that territory.

This was the first time I played this kind of games, a 2D side-scrolling sandbox game (dunno how to actually call it). At first it looked promising, and had me engaged for several hours. Then I got and started playing Terraria. After that I couldn't return and enjoy EoS as it made me realize how clunky, incomplete and buggy the game is at its current state.

Also, the game is dead. There hasn't been any updates for some time.

I actually enjoyed this game when it was in Early Access. I felt it had a lot of potential. To be honest, this and Darkout (another failed "sandbox-style" game) are the games that got me interested in the genre.

But now, the game has been released from Early Access incomplete - there is no story to speak of, some NPC quests are still broken, some recipes are still broken, overall balance is lacking, some deep biomes/strata are broken/bugged/non-functional, and the game is poorly optimized. It should have never left Early Access.

Add on to that, there has been no news on the game in six months (as of this posting), said news being a vague-yet-ominous post about a future announcement yet to materialize, the official game page has turned into a GoDaddy parking page, and the developer has reportedly closed doors.

I wanted to believe in this game, for Laser-Guided Flying Space Sharks with Human Teeth if nothing else, but in this state, unfinished and apparently abandoned, I cannot recommend it to anybody.

Buggy, unfinished game. Had a lot of promise but promise was all there was. Not recommended, devs pushed it out the door half-done and the company has since folded.

Basically a messy flawed and buggy game that I really wanted to help make great, but it struggled just to almost get to OK.

Cannot recommend this game.

Unfinished, but released. Hours played shows I tried to give it several fair shakes during the prerelease phases. I tried to contribute to the game via bug hunting, bug reports, guide on how to craft, etc.

Turns out I wasted that time, nothing really ever came of it but sadness and frustration.

This game was abandoned, and to add on to that, it wasn't even good to begin with.

This is not a bull review, i'm just gonna point the pros and cons, then move on with my day.
I haven't even played an hour, but i still feel as though i should make a review

-Amazing pixel artwork, when i first opened it up i legit said "Woah".
-Creative ideas, you know, the first thing I didn't think of was a flying, talking, robot shark in space
-Quantity, there is so much stuff to explore and find, it's ridiculous
-Natural spawns, I love how the first thing a explored was a zombie containment plant
-Plot, not much plot, you get lost in another planet, galaxy, whatever, then you explore it
-Jet Pack, Cool, and i love how you start with it and you can explore terrain easier
-Potential, this game has MASSIVE potential, it needs more stuff though

-What do i do, like seriously, I have no idea what i'm doing, none of my friends have this game so i can't ask anyone
-it seems like it's copying starboun-- no it can't be... can it?
-Your first weapon is a jello gun, you can't even kill a crab in 3 shots, it's so weak
-it takes a second to load up, and the frames are not great but not bad, and I have a pretty good Graphics card

-Entertaining tutorials
-A better jet pack
-A better gun
-And better frames

None the less, I still enjoy playing this game from time to time 👍

Developers realized their game wasn't working out and had too many issues to fix. But instead of telling their customers this, they rushed to a "Full Release" version that was hilariously unfinished in September 2015 so they could get the game featured on the Steam Store Front Page right before the holidays.

They strung it along further by releasing constant "Minor updates" up through December 2015. These updates weren't actually intended to fix their horribly broken game, but intended to keep it showing on the Steam Store Front Page as "Recently Updated" throughout the 2015 holiday season.

In January 2016, by all appearances, this developer had stopped all development. The community manager had left, they were inactive on Social Media and Steam, and nothing was done to fix the games issues.

In April 2016, they posted a vague "Please be patient" message on Steam via a private steam account (Which, to this day, doesn't respond to inquiries about the game). By "Coincidence", one month later, in May 2016, the game is featured in a Humble Indie Bundle. The April Post was done simply to make potential Humble Bundle buyers believe that the game is being actively developed and supported were they to check it's news page. The devs apparently had no intention of continuing work on the game, they just wanted to string folks along and milk every last dime they could from sales, even from within the Humble Bundle.

Their website and forums were taken down after the domain names are currently up for sale. None of their social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, ect) have posted anything or responded to anything. E-Mails are unanswered. No new activity on Steam.

This is a classic "Take the money and run" Early-Access scam, on par with what the developers of Towns did. This needs to stop. DO NOT buy this game. If you do, you support these practices. I bought into the game in it's Early Alpha stages and regret doing so. Spread the word about developers like this and be more discerning in the future about your Early Access Purchases. That's the only way this kinda crap is going to stop.

Its just to hard If anything I want to give it a thumbs up, but me and my brother cant get anywhere in it. It takes forever and there are too many things to kill you.

I just cant find any ores. I do still play this game because well I spent FUC'KING $20 on it. I dont recommend buying.

If you mine to deep you die and the zombies are too overpowered. One time I spawned inside a zombie base and died over and over!

Even though I got this on half price Its a 4/10
