Starter Pack DLC Released

Dear Players,

As we continue to attract new players to the game to allow our team to spend more time working on Kingdom Wars updates and expansions we have released the second planed DLC.

Please rest assured that we are not making our veteran KW players pay for any new content - these DLCs are meant mostly for new players or for these who want to support our small indie company.

Also we took precautions not to turn KW into a pay-to-win game, these DLCs were designed not to cause any balance issues, and are limited in their benefits.

And so introducing the second DLC - the "Starter" pack.

Enter the world of Kingdom Wars with an amazing starter pack including everything you need to bypass the grind of the early game and start building an empire with an army of Dwarven Mercenaries and a powerful Dragon under your command.

Start Pack DLC includes:

-Two extra city slots
-20,000 resources
-Ice Dragon
-20 Dwarven Units
-24 Hour Attack Protection

Server Update - Login Issues Fixed

Dear Players,

Many of you have experienced issues logging into the game world this past weekend. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, and greatly regret that we weren`t able to address this problem on Friday.

I`m happy to say that this morning we have performed a server upgrade, and after a quick downtime the game servers are back online - and login problem will not happen again.

Thanks for your understanding, and once again - I hope you can forgive us for the delay, this bug came out of nowhere when relative specialists already left office for the weekend, and we couldn`t figure out what was going on. First thing on Monday we addressed the problem and performed needed server upgrades.

About This Game

Kingdom Wars is a free to play 3D MMORTS with real-time siege combat, without the pay to win element so common in the genre. Having evolved from Dawn of Fantasy: Kingdom Wars this strategy game offers lively online world, where players gather resources, construct majestic towns, and impregnable strongholds, direct citizens, complete quests in the service of mighty nobles and fiendish rogues, and eventually manage a global empire. All within an online realm that grows, works, lives, and breathes even when you log off. All this in glorious 3d world with stunning level of detail and epic scale - with vibrant towns and thousand strong armies. And of-course let’s not forget the glorious siege battles all in real-time! Developed by Reverie World Studios, Kingdom Wars is the result of several years of hard work by a new Toronto based studio, with members all over the world.

Innovative MMORTS Approach
  • Wage war with neighboring regions or complete countless hours of quests as you unveil the dark secrets of Terria while managing a persistent kingdom and economy with thousands of other players. Socialize, trade, forge alliances and - best of all - battle against other players across the world, defeat their armies, and burn their towns!
Not Pay to Win
  • With Kingdom Wars free to play release our goal was to create a game of skill, not bigger wallets. We have followed player suggestions and tried to avoid the common pay2win traps. In Kingdom Wars majority of micro-transaction only effect cosmetic changes or unlock bonus content, that does not effect game progress and player interaction. All the other options are limited to one time use, to prevent anyone gaining unfair advantage.
Multiple Games Modes
  • Two additional singleplayer modes - including open-ended Campaign mode, and content-packed single-player Skirmish mode with both Lay Siege and Castle Defense maps - guaranteed to satisfy players of various tastes and gameplay styles.
Stunning Siege Combat
  • User-friendly Siege-oriented gameplay adds a whole new dimension to the battlefield as you ram the enemy gate, scale the walls, and place automated defensive systems, such as: stone tippers, boiling oil, and wall-mounted catapults.
Three Distinct Races & Styles of Gameplay
  • Kingdom Wars features three distinct civilizations: Elves, Orcs and Men, presenting a unique approach to these iconic races with three distinct styles of gameplay. Each race is complete with its own lore, language, world region and terrain, dozens of distinct units and buildings, hundreds of unique technologies, and each even has a different approach to economy and building style.
Fully 3D Dynamic World Map
  • Travel the MMORTS world using a beautifully-designed 3D World Map featuring scale replicas of all the NPC strongholds, quest areas, and the player's homeland.
Original Base Building Approach
  • Each player’s Stronghold features hundreds of buildings that look and behave like a City-Simulation game, but without any micro-management, giving the player more time to spend on the battlefield. In addition each race offers a different approach to building strongholds.
Complex Economic Model with Corpse Looting
  • Combines the complexity of nearly a dozen gathering possibilities, different for each race, with automated simplicity, allowing players the options to micromanage their economy, or leave it to run itself in times of war.
Realistic Weather and Season Change
  • The gaming world comes alive as you build and battle during winter or summer months, as you push your armies through heavy rain or snow storms. Your economy significantly changes from summer to winter, when different strategic options are available during different times of day and severe weather makes certain units useless.

This game is beautiful in every way, buggy every now and then but beautiful and it has what many games are missing today which is character.
Pros - The Developers are doing there upmost best to work on this game even though there was a big crash last year where everything was wiped. The Developers and Admins are very active usuasly.
Cons - Watching your army get washed by the major orc captical (This is more of a bad joke but it happens lol)

I only have 2.5 hours in the game, but I used to play it on my brothers account for him before I used steam for games, I only actually had Steam originally because I needed a Valve Account to play TF2 on the PS3.. So I used the one my brother made for me. But yeah, I put a little of 200 hours on it for my brother, he ended up deleting the game when I got my own PC so, and the PC I got wasn't able to play the game, so I ended up forgetting about it. So about a year or two ago, I found it again and started playing, I had a better computer then, and so I played it every now and again usually only for about 5 minutes just to check up on my village, and rebuild my defenses. So I didn't do much. However from when I used to play, it was still full of Microtransactions so it wasn't like it's not the same as it is now, and I loved it then and still do, you also have to remember, back then there were a decent amount of hackers... not as much as War Rock but they were still there, and they weren't all that blantant, no free gold, just faster troop movements and probably slightly faster build speeds. So it wasn't really that noticable unless people were recording them invading, and their accounts got looked into by the devs, Most of the time they didn't get banned, the devs just patched the game to disallow the hacks being used. Nowadays I rarely see anything about hackers in the forums, so it doesn't seem like an issue anymore.

At first i thought this was a top down Facebook game, but its not half bad :D
Fun? uhhh YES
Doing siege's on enemy towns and other players is great! (a bit boring sometimes tho)
Command a huge army!
Or a MEGA Economy :P
(Up to you)
Gameplay BORES me to death most of the time...
but attacking someone, something, etc has a fair share of good times aswell! (I even became an empire...sorta)
To the point, its Kingdom Wars,Attack him! they Attack You!
so on..

The bugs alone ruin this game, that's without the dated UI and poor AI.
The most game breaking bug I found (and posted about) where you can buy a building and sell it for more over and over again. What does this mean? You don't need to accumulate resources, you simply puchase all your solders via trade and upgrade them to max level with gold. It is a simple number fix yet it has not been changed despite there being a few bug related patches. Either the devs don't listen or they just don't care (or both).

So heres a quick and honest brake down of the game. This game offers a ton of replay value, rick lore, cool faction units and epic pve and pvp battles rangeing from seiges or open feild. The world feels active and alive and as a pvper on a good day i can fund my cites easy from pvp loot. And a huge more, but this game has a ton of game breaking bugs the devs have promised to patch since I played in beta. A huge lack of a support team the updates have stoped to a hault no cummuncation to the players. Pvp system is buggey most of the time ui is very out dated the match making for the game is lacking big time as a pvper my self I haft to spam click the auto search sometimes it feels 100 times before I even get any thing and then that person just pays out. Most days I cant find any thing and the fact that there is no auto search function that I can pop and go do somthing else it bothers me alot having this account and 2 others I've pvped on. I should ot haft to click over and over again. But putting that aside if you are lookinf for a ftp mmo rts that you can pass the time with and not haft to pay to get any thing back this is one of them. Tbh this is the first mmo rts I've played on steam that was not 100 % pay to win. I think kingdomwars would be defined as pay for time you can get crowns very easy in the game. The only benifte i see it giving is faster build times. So that said I've played this game through 5 so called mistake server wipess and I can say I never regreted playing. But with a bunch of new rts mmos going into alpha next mnoths peeps I would say leave this on the back burnner for a bit. It might explode on its self ride safe and long live the orcs!

This is not worth your time, at first glance a "MMORTS" sounds fun. But there are huge problems with pathfinding, ever see a army you spent hours building up walk into siege fire and die? this game will do it. most of your battles will be farming the same area of the map repeatedly for "crowns" a currency you can farm or buy from the shop. I spent two days building an army and had no way to get any more crowns, the minimap in your battles is horrendous and isnt even working in real time, it ♥♥♥♥ing updates off of refreshes every couple of seconds. the graphics are so poor you sometimes cant pick out smaller units from the terrain.
I dont even know how to structure all of the problems. If it was one or two big things fine, its an indie dev. But there are so many small things wrong with the game that the act of playing the game forces you into a battle with the game itself, you have to fight the bad game design to play this. and thats a real shame, i want to love it.
