About This Game

This is the Free-2-Play version of Dwarfs!? You can download the game and play the core game in Arcade mode, plus all the Tutorials and the Challenge modes completely free, forever. No charges, no subscriptions - just free. If you like those modes and want more, you can either pick the modes that you feel like playing and buy those individually - or just buy the whole pack to unlock everything.

Dwarfs!? offers an addictive, fast paced arcade-like experience, with plenty of difficulty levels and game modes to play, in the tradition of great games such as “Lemmings” and “Dwarf Fortress”. As the new overseer for your underground Dwarf base, your job is to manage the small colony and make it as rich as possible, before they meet their inevitable doom! To survive as long as possible, you’ll have to steer and guide your greedy little fellows to the richest points in the caves, while avoiding all the dangers – so they don’t end up destroying your Town Hall and its essential supply of beer. They explore for you, they mine for you and they fight for you - but if you don't keep an eye on them, they'll do what they do best: die for you and take everyone else with them. But, if all else fails when the Spider Queen comes for you – use the Outpost’s Dwarf Cannon and shoot Dwarfs at her!

There are only 3 certainties in this world: death, taxes and that Dwarfs always dig too deep!

Key features:

  • Fun for all ages and skill levels of gamers, with randomly-generated caves so the game is different every time.
  • Madly Addictive Arcade Mode: 4 difficulty levels ranging from casual to crazy hard-core, time limits from 5 minutes to endless, randomly-generated caves and all the gold and monsters you can handle!
  • Base Defense Mode: Tower Defense gameplay, except you don’t have a tower. And your Dwarfs dig the routes. Then you defend against waves of monsters!
  • Rush Mode: Can you handle Dwarfs spawning at insane rates and digging everywhere?
  • Dark Mode: This time, the only light is in the tunnels your Dwarfs dig. Spooky!
  • Campaign Challenges: Tutorials where you can learn all about being a Dwarf Overseer in a few minutes and Challenges where you can put those Overseer abilities to the ultimate test.
  • Leaderboards: Compare the size of your beard (and your scores) with your friends and the rest of the world.
  • Sandbox Mode: Create your own caves!
  • Codex: Alongside the integrated help system is the Codex – the fount of all Dwarf knowledge! Contains everything you need to know, including video tutorials for the budding Overseer.
  • Medals and Achievements: Lots and lots of shiny stuff to collect and show off to your friends!
  • Fully Integrated with Steamworks™
  • And Zombies. Not to mention goblins, skeletons, spiders, dark elves and more.

You feel like a mama duck trying to lead all of your stupid but loveable children to Gold and Glory, while hopefully not trying to get them killed by water lava or monsters. I've played F2P for a while with little complaints on the content, I'll definitely get it on sale.

With that tl;dr about my feelings out of the way...

"Lemmings" meets "Dwarf Fortress" is overselling it just a teensy bit.

Have you experienced the frustration of having to abandon one child you're playing with in order to hurry into the kitchen and put a child lock on the under-sink cupboards because the baby found them? Whoops, while you were doing that the first kid climbed onto the coffee table and is getting ready to jump off because he thinks he's Superman. Oh! Don't forget about the neighbor's boy you're babysitting for the weekend... because he's about to flush your wallet down the toilet.

This game is that.

9:24 PM - Nadia: I'm chasing stubby beardtards around literally everywhere
9:39 PM - Nadia: All in all, there's a certain amount of strategy, quick thinking, generous use of the game's time controls, and a little bit of SHEER PANIC involved
9:55 PM - Nadia: tl;dr: Dwarfs!? is an exercise in paying in-game currency to micromanage a bunch of terminally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stubby bearded torsos flinging beer and pickaxes

Dwarfs!? is a strangely addicting game. If you enjoy arcade games, where the main objective is to beat your high score (or someone else's high score), you'll probably love this game.

The way you score is by getting as much gold as you can, while trying to stay alive--but, you're dwarfs aren't the brightest and will insist on digging into caves filled with water, lava, and monsters, so you'll have to keep a close eye on them, which becomes harder and harder as the game progresses.

The F2P version has the two easier difficulties unlocked and each can be played in 5, 15, 30, and 60 min sessions (but beware, you cannot save the game mid-session).

The only problem I've encountered is in long games, where you have thousands of dwarfs in the field at one time, my computer starts to lag--which makes the game very difficult and frustrating to play.

Overall, this is a fun, simple, casual game that can keep you entertained for hours or opened for a quick 5-minute session.

[NOTE: If you buy the full version, your personal scores and achievements will transfer, but the F2P version has different global leaderboards, and your global score will not transfer.]

[EDIT: For those wondering, I personally own the full version (non-F2P), which is why my play-time on the F2P version is so low.]

Concerning the DLC...
Dwarfs - F2P Skirmish Pack (Recommended): Comes with 3 modes (Sandbox, Rush, and Dark). Rush and Dark modes bring new challenges to the game and can be a lot of fun. In Sandbox, you can experiment. In Rush, dwarfs spawn CONSTANTLY and you can only let 200 die. In Dark, you cannot see where caves or minerals are located.

Dwarfs - F2P Difficulty Pack (Recommended): Unlocks the two harder difficulty levels (Hardcore & Tedi Hardcore) for Arcade mode.

Dwarfs - F2P Endless Mode Pack (Not Recommended): Exactly like Arcade mode, except it's endless and you're allowed to pick the map size as well as the difficulty. Beware lag. Also, no high score is recorded.

Dwarfs - F2P Summer Carnival Pack (Extremely NOT Recommended): Was a prize for a Steam summer sale years ago; a very simple mini-game that is completely different than the base game.

Dwarfs - F2P Base Defend Pack (Not Recommended): A cute little tower defense mode that's rather different from the base game.

Came for the 'DWARFs' Killing Floor achievement and subsequent axe, but stayed for the gameplay/difficulty.

Ooh, those greedy dwarves! They put "F2P" in the title of their game and then ask for money to unlock game modes.

I got this game for the sole purpose of getting the Dwarves Axe achievement in Killing Floor. I was pleasantly surprised by this game...It's easy to understand, but difficult enough to keep you working! Fun and adorable graphics, and best of all: free!

So, it's free to play... you have no microtransactions that will ruin your game. You can just download this in less than 10 minutes and start playing. It's pretty relaxing and the graphics are toony and nice when you zoom in. Chose from 5 to 60 minute matches. I came here to get my KF Axe, but stayed for the cool gameplay and achievements.

>I'd rate it a 8/10 (although seemingly low, really good game, but maybe not everyone will like it)
>Pros: F2P, small size, fun and can get from very simple to very complicated having to control a lot of stuff that goes on around the place as you get more and more miners, cute graphics
>Cons: None, really. It's good.

A fun puzzle/sim type game that puts you in charge of a group of dwarves to dig a mine and combat goblins, it reminds me a bit of dig dug, I enjoyed playing the game and think you might aswell so you should give it a go.

Note : Brand Confusion Scam

I already owned Dwarfs!?

Then they re-release this with a different name, and sell chunks of the game as separate dlcs, I think they are different games, I own such a large collection, and as I organize everything realize I paid for the same game twice.

BS - deleting files and hiding this from library
