I know i'm going to get a lot of hate for this but i don't like this game it's my least favorite sonic game

Ok so first of i don't like the story it has too many plot hooles and it tryes so hard to be dark and failes

The gameplay with sonic (and shadow) is worst then it was in SA1 but that's not the probele the problems are meck shooting and tresure hunting levels theas SUCKKKKKK if i realy whated to shoot some thing i whoud play Call of Duty hell ther is a new one evry ♥♥♥♥ING YEAR but the tresure hunting levels are the worst theu are so big and the radar dosen't work properly oh and evry space level is ♥♥♥♥ - final rush

The graphicks are too dark in my opinion

Overall 4/10

I played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Nintendo Gamecube, and the HD version looks amazing. I honestly thought the keyboard controls would be terrible, but my hands have gotten used to them already. Gameplay is good, though the story not so much. I recommend this game to anyone.

Amy's still annoying.

Now I love this game. More then OoT? No. Not even close. This was however, my second most played Game on the Gamecube. And I don't know how many hours I've spent playing it for that.

This was my childhood, and it's so good to see something that makes you feel good inside. I still raged at the same levels as I did back then, I still skipped some of the cutscense as I did back then. I did it more this time round because:

1. I already know the story
2. The graphics scare me a little
3. Kinda out of sync

You can use and X-box controller. THIS IS SOMETHING I RECCOMEND. Seriously, because mouse and keyboard isn't meant for this game.

Now the only downfall about this game is the CAMERA. My Goodness. It's possessed. Moves on it's own, completely throws you off, so you end up dying or... dying. You have to fight to keep it in check and where you want it. I don't know if you can fix that.

Now I've not tried the multi-player, because those are bring back some really salty memories of childhood with my cousins. But I do wish you could play online with other people, that would be nice.

Get the DLC, because you'll find a few bits from the Menu are missing, and you can't play Karate.

Now the main reason why I had so many hours was the CHAOS. LET'S NOT KID OURSELEVES.

Why haven't you got this game already?!?!?
Chao Garden 2 is the best Sonic game there is!
It also has great music, and City escape is <3

-I guess it has a story too, (The main character isn't Sonic)

Okay. I'm going to review this as a person who doesn't have any nostalgic attachment to the game. I didn't play it when it came out, I actually just got to play it now that it is on steam. That being said, this is also the opinion of a Sonic Fan who's been playing Sonic for nearly 18 years. Thing is SA2 just happened to never get to me, for some reason I wouldn't bother emulating it and never got to buy a Dreamcast.

So let's start. First of all, this game, like every Sonic game, has the germ of a good idea. When you TALK about Sonic Adventure 2 to someone who hasn't played it, it sounds amazing. Fast-paced, full of action, speed, attitude, good music and nice-ish graphics. What's not to love?

Still, SA2 has a lot of major problems.
- Glitches (too many for a finished game);
- Wacky controls;
- Poor level design;
- HORRIBLE camera;
- Really bad enemy placement;
- Bad arrangement between fast-paced and slow-paced stages;
- Bad story (not that big of a deal for a Sonic game, but it tries too hard to be plot-driven, you can't have bad plot if it's a focus on the game, period);
- The good stages are infested with scripted segments;
- and finally, 2/3 of the game is pure garbage. You HAVE to play as Tails, Knuckles, Rouge and Eggman to finish it, and it's atrocious.

It makes me so confused as to why people think this is one of the best, if not the best, Sonic game, when it clearly isn't. I don't like the heavy criticism the franchise has gone through since, idk, 2006 (and it's "revival" with game grumps), but this is NOT a good game. You can have fun with it, sure. The Sonic and Shadow stages aren't bad at all, they have some flaws, mainly the camera and controls and the scripted things, but when you get to REALLY play it and take control of the game, it's great (Metal Harbor would be the best example). But that's less than one third of the ENTIRE GAME.

Probably the best part about this mess isn't even the Sonic and Shadow stages, it's probably the Chao Garden.

Only waste your money on this if:
- You're nostalgic about it and can have fun with it even tho it's bad;
- You want to play the Chao Garden;
- You're a die hard Sonic Fan who just want to try every game.

Otherwise, you have a bunch of other options on Steam like Generations, the original trilogy & Knuckles, Sonic CD, the first Sonic Adventure. Hell! even Sonic Lost World is an okay game and more worth your money than this.

And if you want a really good 3D Sonic game just play the modern Generations Stages, or stay tuned for rumors saying Sonic Colors will be ported for PC.

While it's deeply flawed, and hasn't aged all that great, it is still fun to play, especially if you enjoyed it back on the Dreamcast/Gamecube. All these years, and it's still the last Sonic game to feature a proper Chao Garden.
