Best not-original-hero, minions, strategy view and best of all - uses minion units, so you can add minions to normal defenses. Even more fun after equipping two pets and using the Demoness costume. 9/10

Great add on to Dungeon Defenders! The Summoner is like a new game; everything is different and fun to figure out! I baught it and played for hours right off the get go :) so here's a list of things I'll Pro/con about this

Pro:
- New experience to the original game (helpful tip: "2" gives you the RTS overview mode)
- Fun with multiplayer
- Can fix anything anywhere and still issue commands
- The Summoner simply looks amazing (that's an opinion of course but I think that deserves props)

Con:
- Can be overwhelming with larger maps (like the Servants Quarters and Endless Spires)
- The Summoner is useless without his/her minions (because he/she can't attack)
- Some commands have no hot keys that really need one (like offensive movement)

This character DLC is VERY MUCH worth the money. He's one of the best classes in the game for tower builds, he has intangibility and flight powers, he has interchangable perspectives of on-ground, and Real-Time-Strategy, and honestly the list of his versatility could go onward. The Summoner can't use weapons, but he most certainly makes up for it.
In Dungeon Defenders, you can normally only place a specific number of defenses, based on how many "Defense Units" the ones you make cost. The Summoner class has his own seperate pool of units for building to pull from, called "Minion Units". This gives players a HUGE advantage in building, as you can simply add Summoner minions onto any previously DU-only build. Honestly, this is probably the first character DLC you should buy, or even the plain first DLC you buy.

The Summoner introduces a change in playstyle that takes a bit of getting used to, but once you have it down it is a great deal of fun.

When playing as a Summoner, the game operates entirely as a RTS game. You have no means of manual self defense, and must accomplish it all with strategy alone.

Definitely not for everyone, but for those who can pull it off, it is a blast to play.

Amazing for players of games such as Command and Conquer and Dawn of War, or simply for amassing large armies.

I dont know what it is, but I seem to have the right mind for the summoner which I excell with and has long become my favorite class in this game. was worth every penny.

In short the summoner is almost completely defencless (cant attack like the other heroes can) but can have two pets to fight for them. your main mechanic is the ability to summon crystal versions of enemies from the game of which you can command in an RTS fashion (top down. click them and right click enemes to prompt them to attack the enemy, right click the ground to get them to move there and so on) it is a great class and i find myself almost exclusively playing it as it is the most fun.

A must have if your a fan of this game
