What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have 3 main objectives with this early access.

First we want to ensure that this game – which is now almost feature complete - will operate smoothly on most platforms and configurations. Our team does not have a sufficient variety of configurations to ensure this safely, and we hope this will help us cover most cases.
The plan is to receive at least a hundred feedbacks, with a wide spectrum of different configs.

We also plan to ask Early Access members for a list of suggestions and remarks that we plan ti include in the game, to improve player’s feedback and understanding of the game. This is the second objective.

The third objective is to train our newest team member to special improvements that – even if they are not mandatory for good play experience – will improve the fun-to-play experience and challenge of the game, by adding more special rules, preparing the code structure for online multiplayer and improving the overall AI behavior.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The feedback process, based on our previous Early Access experience with another game, will take 4 to 8 weeks. This period of the year might lead to faster feedback as players have more free time and can thus play more.

The training and familiarization process of new team members is also expected to take 2 months, and has already started for the last 6 weeks.

Our initial plan is to get the final release ready by late August if the feedback is sufficient.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The main final version will have most common PC/Mac platforms and configurations covered and tested. Currently we have 9 of them tested (6 PC, 3 Mac) and the final version should work on two dozens different PCs and Macs most common specs.

Based on customers’ approval and feedback, the final version will have different individual graphics for the main key units in the game, and some map effects and 3D sprites will be added to the final version to give a different – but similar – look.

We shall also add 1 or 2 video tutorials directly inside the game menu (none now), as well as a more detailed game manual (none present so far, tutorial being handled by ingame windowed texts).

There are currently three languages in the game (English, French, Spanish), all proofed during the preliminary production so far. Two other (Russian, German) will be added during Early Access to be part of the final version.

Last, in the full version, players will get more feedback (more tooltips and explanation) and control on game's actions (e.g. such as allowing players to choose hits allocation instead of having them automatically assigned by the engine).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is considered complete and functional already, and should be enjoyable to play, with enough varied content. All the features listed in the "About this Game" section are already in.

The new graphics, the manual and the ingame video tutorials are not yet present but will be added during Early Access or right upon release to full version.

We still may have potential minor issues with rare configurations or machines, and that's what we want to solve here.””

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early access version will be cheaper than the final version, by about 20% less.
We hope that players supporting us at that stage will "offer" us their feedback in exchange for a cheaper game, which shall help us finalize the game as described above.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Steam forum will be the main point of collection of comments, remarks and suggestions.
Players willing to go deeper in the assistance will be granted access to a private development forum located on our company's forum.”
