Hey bros who've been following our interactive movie game series from 《Back》! Our brand new fan-creation project, ​​"Mourningwood Lodge2:Hidden Voice", is set for an ​​early release on October 25th (this Saturday)​​.

​​"Mourningwood Lodge2:Hidden Voice" from the Beyondtells a story that happens beforethe events of ​​"Mourningwood Lodge". In FBH1, Wang Hui ultimately met his end as a sacrifice, but long before that, he was already involved in other paranormal incidents.

Furthermore, this prequel will secretly contain hints related to a future installment in the Mourningwood Lodge series (let's temporarily call it Mourningwood Lodge 3).

As a fan-creation product, we've been able to optimize some of the issues players raised regarding FBH1. However, the lack of significant branching paths is something that's genuinely tricky to address. Just as I explained in a previous announcement, this product was developed by creating the fixed video content first, and then building the game around it. It wasn't filmed following the traditional interactive movie game approach of designing for multiple branches and endings from the start. So, for those of you who place particular importance on extensive branching narratives, please be advised and consider this before playing. That said, the game doesfeature multiple endings.

Additionally, some gameplay mechanics in this title coincidentally share a high-level design similarity with another product that launched last week.

This game contains horror segments. As for how scary it is, that really varies from person to person.

Finally, thank you all for your ongoing support. Whether it's the fan-creation products we're currently developing or potential future adaptation projects, our goal is singular: to raise funds for the production of 《Back4》. The script for 《Back4》 is already complete, but production cannot start yet as we are currently in the fundraising stage. But this is something I am definitely committed to making happen.

Hi Everyone,

Another quick patch while lots of fixes and changes make it into the main release build (and also do the demo build). Changes below:

[h4]Gameplay[/h4]
  • Fixed an issue where the playercould get stuck between a tunnel and the level geometry, causing a soft lock as the player cannot move nor transform to get out.

  • When the game auto-saves, you now see a "Game Saved" alert on screen to indicate this happens. This is just before the boss fight, so it only affects the entrance to the boss fight in the Demo (though, in the full game, there are more places this can trigger).

  • While in a boss fight, you can now Pause and Exit the game. Now that it's clear an auto-save happened just before entering, the confirmation screen now shows when the last save happened.

  • Fixed seeing the Map hint during a boss fight.

[h4]Audio[/h4]
  • Fixed Sound FX volume not using the saved levels during Main Menu.

  • Removed the high pitched click at the end of the UI Move sound effect.

[h4]Lexicon[/h4]
  • Lexicon entries are now hidden by default, and will be revealed when you either see the enemy/boss, or obtain the item/pickup/upgrade. This does mean the auto appearing version from Main Menu can have lots of "????" entries. But it's overall a better player experience to discover these during play, and also adds some mystery (especially in the full game, where there's many more entries in the Lexicon).

  • Lexicon screen now shows the current "tab" and also the previous and next tab on top, to help clearer indicate how you're navigating through the lists.

  • Added a count to the top right of Lexicon screen, which shows how many you've unlocked for the current category. This should help easier track whether any Lexicon entires are missing.

Last progress report before the Update

All the renders for the upcoming update are finally complete, and I’m currently working on the animation renders. This update will feature plenty of animations — and the theme this time is all about wholesomeness. No corruption, no darkness — just pure, heartfelt, and loving scenes.

My goal is to release the update on October 31st. I chose a safe date to make sure everything comes together smoothly, though I’m hoping I don’t mess up too many things while finishing the animations. It still feels surreal that Bright Lord is nearing completion. I’m proud of how far it’s come and genuinely excited for what’s next.

And as always, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my biggest supporter — Anonymous. Your support means the world to me.
