Due to a critical bug in the new version, some players are experiencing UI freezes when upgrading buildings.

We have decided to temporarily roll back version V1.0.1 to V1.0.0. We will fix the bug and thoroughly test it as soon as possible before re-releasing V1.0.2.

First demo update is LIVE - black hole issue is fixed!

Hello everyone!

First and foremost, thanks for all the wonderful reactions and bug reports! It really helped us tackle the critical problems. The most common report was the black hole issue, and good news— we fixed it! Furthermore, we improved the asteroid collision and water visibility, so you don't lose track of them as easily.

We're really happy with how the Curiosmos demo was received, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you!! It makes us extremely excited to expand the universe.

With ByteRogue's full release on July 24th coming soon, I would like to provide info on what this entails.

The game will be launching on Windows, but it has been tested to work on Steam Deck through Proton (hopefully Valve verifies this at some point). If you have played the demo, your save file should carry over to the full version through Steam Cloud.

The full release will feature 9 game modes, including the base Beginner and Standard modes as well as 7 challenge modes, each one remixing the rules in different ways to keep the experience fresh. The last challenge mode may provide a nice little surprise as well. ;)

The game will be fully priced at $2.55 USD, but will have a launch discount. We'll also be selling a bundle that includes our previous game Earth Overclocked.

Looking forward to releasing Chronicle Bench's first project in over 9 years! It's good to be back!

v0.1.2 patch release brings numerous updates to the "Connected" build, mostly focus on bug fixes but also includes some new features as well as tweaks to existing ones. Enjoy!

Fixed
  • Shovel+enemy impact now replicates to clients

  • 3rd player in lobby will now spawn correctly

  • Dynamite position is now replicated properly during throw

  • Enemy collision and AI are now disabled when they die

  • Players are now blocked by enemies

  • Dynamite exploding in player’s inventory will release its slot

  • Picking up certain items will no longer disable inputs for active item

  • Enemy health is no longer visible after it has been killed

  • Disruptor throwing no longer toggles the item on/off

Changed
  • Disruptor is now a placeable instead of a throwable object.

  • Removed friendly fire

  • Significantly decreased shovel damage

Added
  • Reload sound

  • Tonic item (health potion)

  • Player headlight (to see equipped items in the dark)

  • Boss can now be hit with shovel

  • Cannot rejoin lobby after leaving game or lobby. Restart game to fix
