Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Weaken the Hive not being limited to hazard origin only
  • Fixed the tile highlight effects overriding each other in some cases

Balance changes are the subject of the day:

-Added wearable "lanterns" you can find / purchase in Stowaway, Willowwatch, and Port Azure. Having them anywhere in inventroy will activate a light on your character.

-Fixed collision on "Provoker" shield that was causing camera issues

-Adjusted combat formulas for balance (lowered str weight for 1h weapons, increased for 2h weapons)*

-Adjusted damage on some Stormcaller Spells for balance (lowered base damage)

-Adjusted damage on some bows for balance (increased base damage)

-Stormcallers will no longer use Skycall Arrow unless flagged as Crowd Control in group manager (defaults to off)

-Duelists will not use Vithean Breeze line unless they're flagged as Crowd Control in group manager

(defaults to off)

-Added Paladin "Moon Bolt" spell line(rank I and II) - A Low damage, very short stun and spell interrupt spell (Level 2, Level 19)

-Fixed a handful of 'undestroyable' items to now be destroyable (because they can be re-obtained)

Combat formula changes:

Previously, all melee base damage scaled off of a formula that essentially used (strength x proficiency x 2) + (dex x proficiency x .5). This caused an unbalanced weight on strength scaling at high end, especially for duelists. (note that dexterity is used in many other areas of the calculation still).

The new formula does not multiply the strength portion by 2 UNLESS you're using a 2h weapon.

The result is a small DPS decrease to strength-focused duelists at high levels, bringing them in line with other DPS classes. At mid levels the result should be less noticeable - as always let me know if this is not your experience.

Stormcallers have been tweaked in the opposite direction, favoring strength a bit more and intelligence a bit less to keep them in that "hybrid" area and not push them one way or another:

-Some spell base damages have been lowered

-Some bow base damages have been increased.

For reference, prior to this change the following numbers were being reported (ballpark)

Int Based Stormcaller - 16k-17k dps

Str Based Duelist - 20k+ dps

Int based Arcanist - ~10k dps

The goal pre-raid is to have all DPS classes around 10k DPS (give or take), and these changes bring those numbers in line.

Gang Beasts - Spuddactyl

Gang Beasts patch 1.28 comes out today for currently supported platforms. The 1.28 patch addresses a recently disclosed security vulnerability that can compromise the security of games made with specific versions of the Unity editor. Unity has published resources for patching versions of the Unity editor with this vulnerability (this includes Unity 2021.3.33f1, the build of Unity that Gang Beasts patch 1.27 was made with).

To remove the potential for this vulnerability to be exploited it is important to delete older versions of Gang Beasts and install patch 1.28 as soon as you can.

Gang Beasts 1.28 also makes back-flipping less difficult compared with patch 1.27.

The 1.28 release does not include new stages or costumes or other content and modifications but we plan to give more information on development this month.

The key modifications and fixes made in the 1.28 build are:

  • Fixed auto-effort behavior in lists
  • Fixed game crashes when removing automation rules and switching between lists
  • Fixed game crases in shop screen on smaller window

As feedback on the early demo release has died down a bit I am slowly going to start going back to the Early access content. The first few things I work on will be pretty technical so it is likely I will push these things to the demo as well so people get a good idea of the game in EA state. However I will soon be going on to bits of the story that will not be in the demo and thus branching off to a beta build.

Why is he telling us all that? Well, just to make clear that..hopefully..I can release later this year and you will indeed get new content, new skills and new stuff to do once you buy the game ;)!

In the meantime I was feeling a bit artistic so:

Improvements

  • Added more enemy zone areas to make calmer regions feel more alive and interesting.

  • Could not resist improving sandstorm particles in several areas — it just gives everything more of that true desert feel. 🌵💨

FIXED: Corrected team AI bots looking like they are all from the same team.
FIXED: Randomize no longer apply any locked camos to the weapon if they are not purchased.
