We Need No Kings - Bobby Two Hands

Our first large content update is here. Weirdness allows you to slowly build up a population of weird members of your society. Normal people get unhappy when weird people do their thing, which can harm your village’s growth rate, but weirdness comes with its own advantages. They have access to new clothing and entertainment, which if you can provide them makes people happier in general, and certain weird buildings have uniquely powerful effects. Healing both the body and the mind become possible, in limited quantities, allowing your village to endure hardships others couldn’t. Those cured become weird, but that might be your entire goal, adding another weird villager to your little sub-community.

The game also begins on more complex animals, with the dodocado. It has a life-cycle, with an egg, slow maturation and eventual death by old age. It can be hunted to extinction, or all its eggs poached, but if it is harvested responsibly it can provide useful food and clothing options.

Other than this, the start of some NPC-village improvements are now in, with the villages following set decoration patterns, which they tailor to their available resources. They will plant flowerbeds around roads and statues, and choose the plants and decorations based on what the village has on hand, to make each village match its economic conditions.

Gameplay
-New Magic plant: Weird Healer. Makes people weird (which has advantages and disadvantages) if they use it to heal (max one heal per day)
-New Magic plant: Tree of woe. Makes people weird (which has advantages and disadvantages) if they use it to cure dissatisfaction (max one heal per day)
-New Skill: "Sung Stories" allows singers to satisfy social need too, requires base level singing
-New Building: Haunted Harp. Lets you play music to satisfy 'strange compulsion' of weird people and give mood buff. Requires Sung Stories
-New Building: Icecream parlor. Requires a fruit taken from a freezeflower
-New Building: Apothecary. Lets you make potions of pain relief so your injured villagers can be kept happy while they heal up
-New Creature: the Dodocado. Flees when attacked, reproduces by itself but can be hunted to extinction
-You can now remove stress traits by spending a level up (provisional, may be adjusted if it's OP)
-NPC-run villages now have improved road/decoration/flowerbed placement, by connecting individual pattern blocks together based on available and affordable decoration options
-Small improvement to NPC cargo ship AI (higher price-setting)
-Added a policy to make villagers gift cash instead of items
-Added a game option for villagers to book passage on departing cargo ships, leaving an underperforming village for a higher performing one (relative to happiness target, so successful tiny outposts showing promise can grow)
-New Building: Large bonfire. Made by the player or the village, reduces the need for warmth in nearby villagers
-You can set limits on the "distribution" policy to prevent giving resources if all citizens have enough (still can't individually target, to avoid unfairness)

-Mammoth animation complete
-Fixed some graphical positions being a bit offset from their true location
-Workplaces can now have signs to indicate who owns them (can be disabled in game options) (give your cafe/bakery/evil air extractor a cute name)
UI
-Islands names are adjusted in brightness and size to reflect inhabited vs empty
-Max UI scale increased to 200%

Character Renaming: Added option to rename model characters.
Improved Character Management: Enhanced loading and management in Library and Phase Pal scenes.
Chat Functionality: Ensured reliable chat loading.
Chat Positioning: Default chat box placement to left/right of character, with horizontal window size adjustments.
Window Resize Fix: Prevented resizing during character selection or menu/chat display; auto-expands horizontally at smallest size.
Clean Layout: Removed unnecessary scrollbar, fixed overlapping text for a cleaner box layout.
Menu Spacing: Added spacing between top option and search bar, disabled unnecessary menu scrolling.
Animation Fix: Resolved character stuck in dragging animation when menu appears.
Single Menu Instance: Prevented multiple menu instances during drag or other actions.
Display Fix: Corrected multiple avatars appearing in a single display box.
Endeavor: Rite of Passage - Natmos20
- Updated majority of campaign levels to increase the number of enemy encounters. You must explore the map in order to experience the additional action. This hopefully will increase the action/fun without overly increasing the difficulty. Let me know what you think.

Stellar Navigator - Stellar Navigator

Hello Everyone,

A bit of an early and extra update on development this month because I wanted to share a few things that are going on!

Minor update one available through opting in

Development work has been concluded on the first minor update to Stellar Navigator. However, before it goes live on the Public branch it will be running in the Public Beta Branch ("publicbeta"). How this branch differs from branch that requires sign up is that anyone can get access to it by going into their Steam settings and opting into the beta. Moreover, this branch will include more stable release candidates for the live application. Ideally, it will be a much better experience, but this ensures that everyone has the chance to test it out if they wish and provide their feedback and raise any bugs. Think of it as a larger test group where you get to try all the new shiny things.

ARK: Survival Evolved - AlphaNav
Good afternoon,

We are continuing to make posts through the weekend to continue to provide transparency regarding issues reported through the #「📩」support channel on the Official ARK: Aquatica Discord. Studio Sirens remains dedicated to providing updates daily as issues are being logged or addressed.

Our top priority remains to fix an issue with the game engine on the live version of ARK: Survival Evolved (360.1) ; proving to be complex, a solution continues to be developed in order to address mods from instantly crashing and we look forward to posting an update when possible. Once this specific issue is addressed, only then will the team be able to chase down specific mods with issues that may require an update with the updated devkit.
  • We are looking into issues that relate to shader issues built into the engine

  • We have been able to identify content that was pushed to the base game that may be conflicting with mods

To continue to remind everyone of the current solution, the team was able to push a pre-aquatica release version of A.S.E. This allowed people to return and play a version of the game before the launch of ARK: Aquatica and progress has and will continue to be made to address lingering issues.

The branch is called "preaquatica". To navigate to the branch: 

  • Right Click ARK: Survival Evolved in your Steam Library

  • Crash fixes in relation to current official server instability, in the meantime, an automatic restart solution has been implemented.

  • Tridachna fix to enable taming in PvE

  • Kibble mash not craftable in inventory

  • Cymathoa taking damage from rocket launcher

  • Incorrect icon in taming tracker

  • Vulcanithys fight updates

More known issues in the pipeline:
  • Character bugs out when using the Tek Trident after spawning in single player (GCM).

  • Low FPS/Low performance issues

  • Raft/Motorboat issue: When picking up a foundation from the motorboat while on it you are teleported to the centre of the map

  • Bug that causes characters to disappear when moving servers between clusters.

  • Stinger ship issues

  • Level holes in large pools of lava

  • Water beacon issue requiring reactivation

  • Hydrosphere issues

  • Skiff loss issues per update, we ask that players do not craft Skiffs during this time until this can be addressed.

  • Transferred DLC dinos issue, losing references and vanish or become undeployable when loaded on non-native maps

  • Missing Linux Binaries on v360.1
