Controller Support For Menus!

Controller support has been continuously improved over and over ever since release but I never got to making them work for navigation. With this update, you can now navigation through almost all menus. Some of the pages may only have a Back button in which case you can just exit with whatever the default back button for your controller is.

I am aware about the Cop moonwalking in the Achievements page when a controller is plugged in — small issue, I'll get to it later on.

HP Logic Rework

In true developer spirit of hating on your code over time, I've since reworked the HP logic. Game play will not be affected if things are working properly but there was a bug introduced where players do not take burn damage-over-time. It has been fixed so don't get too happy about that. Do let me know if there are more bugs!

This update has been in the works for a while! Has a fleet of changes meant to streamline the game, make playing it easier and less janky, it also has loads of new artwork! Read on for the fine details.

Studio Sirens remains dedicated to providing updates as issues are being logged or addressed. We are primarily utilizing the #「❗」bug-reports」channel on the Official ARK: Aquatica Discord. For the sake of identifying issues, please provide as much information as possible on your report for visibility and accurate reporting (ie: version number, platform and all applicable logs or information).

Patch notes (v360.14)

General Notes:
  • Added server setting to control the ability to place Floating Foundations in air

    • In GameUserSettings.ini, under the ServerSettings section: PreventFloatingFoundationsInAir=True

    • The Floating Foundations setting is enabled by default, the command line above would disable this setting.

  • Fixed Floating Foundations being placeable too high above the ground when not underwater

  • Fixed not being able to place Cannons on non-Aquatica maps

  • Border walls no longer causing random deaths

  • Fixed various foliage and mesh hole issues

  • Continued FPS optimization

Dinos/Tames Fixes:
  • Fixed being able to place structures on Ocepechelon saddles

  • Fixed water dinos not being able to target Cymathoa

  • Fixed Abyssal dinos losing their Underwater Walking ability on game restarts

  • Dinos who were not intended to be able to equip infected barnacles by design are now unable to equip them.

This update will require a minor server downtime of 1 hour to official ARK: Aquatica servers. Servers with the highest population will be prioritized.

We're thrilled to finally share TavernHold with the world! After months of late nights and countless iterations, our Steam page is live, and we couldn't be more excited to start this journey with you.

Who We Are

We're a tiny team of two developers working on what started as a passion project and has grown into something we believe is truly special. One of us is diving in full-time while the other juggles part-time development alongside other commitments. It's been challenging, but seeing TavernHold come to life makes every obstacle worth it.

What Makes TavernHold Different?

While there are excellent games in both the tower defense and management genres, we noticed a gap - what if managing your economy wasn't just about funding defenses, but about running a living, breathing business that happens to be under siege every night?

In TavernHold, you're not just placing towers and watching enemies march. You're:

  • Serving hungry travelers during the day, managing tables and rooms like a real innkeeper

  • Assigning workers to gather resources, build defenses, or craft items - every decision matters

  • Desperately scrambling to repair your inn after last night's attack while new guests arrive expecting service

  • Manually controlling a ballista tower when things get intense (because sometimes you need that personal touch!)

This creates a unique tension where success in one phase directly impacts the other. Neglect your customers? No gold for defenses. Focus only on combat? Your inn falls apart, and travelers stop coming.
