Hey, everyone.

It came to my attention today that many versions of Unity were susceptable to a security vulnerability. Since it was reported, a patch had been created that removed the vulnerability. While it is unlikely anyone has been affected by it, your safety is important so I have applied the patch and pushed out a new build of the game for you all to keep you safe.

I'm still working on a bigger patch but here's a few small fixes :)

  • Small Day 2 dialogue changes
  • Corrected a delay on some enemy encounter animations in Chapter 1
  • Fixed an issue where the dog would leave the party after battling beetles (Dog became more scared of beetles than superheroes)
  • Added shortcut option home on retrieving the medicine

Update OCT-2025: The game is not dead, im working on a complete rebuild. Im switching to the industry engine used insted of building my own, and for the sake of playability im rebulding the core game mechanics.

I think you going to like it. At the moment I have the core game loop working.

I'm building the rest of game mechanics around it. The game will be isometric (yes, isometric) style and turn based. Most probably it will be released as a separate title, a successor to the original.

Hey everyone!

Working hard on the game over here - not the past few days, since I had a big party and had to prepare for it, but I am ready to get back to work now. It is good to take a break!

Power-Ups

The next thing I am working on is power-ups that will drop from enemies! This is very much needed, the game's "flow" is kind of lacking a dynamic element. Power-ups will add that "oh look, this will change things!" element, especially because they will drop from enemies, making it dynamic on the game's end and not in control of the player, adding proper feel. There will, of course, be a hard and soft pity system so that they will drop usually around the same rate (based on the wave). My concern is that it will make the game too easy now, so I may need to make some adjustments in post (or work really fast on new challenge modes and reasons to play them.)

There are 4 different power-ups. Each once will make an AOE explosion that will mainly just do knockback to look cool, and boost your move and jump speed a bit. This will help players move around more consistently and spend less time trying to cover both sides at once.

Each power up will also have a main effect:

  • Regen Health Rapidly

  • Regen Stamina & Mana Rapidly

  • 3x Income Boost from enemy kills

  • Insane Poise Damage

Also, when dropped by enemies, you have 20 seconds to pick them up (or around that), so if you're an "off-screen andy", you will have more of a disadvantage not really getting these. (unless, of course, you get the new "Aberrant Horseshoe" relic, which will pull in all power-ups from across the map ;) ...and there is also a blessing to boost the drop rate.

Floor Is Lava

Have you played the latest challenge I added? The floor is lava! It's pretty fun, now you are building out the play area as you go. You can kind of walk into the lava, or try to dodge along it, or grapple-jump across too, so there are a few methods of travel. Also, the Amantacoumpass suddenly is much more of a threat, as they crash downward and break the floor!

I don't like the way it is organized right now, I will do an overhaul of how these challenges are laid out and clarify the rewards for doing them (and add more rewards). Maybe something like Megabonk, where when you beat a challenge you unlock a new small element (maybe lock some blessings behind unlocks??), for sure part of new weapons & items, relics, ect. Also challenges should be stack-able so you can play with as many as you want, and increase the challenge rating.

I also fixed the unity engine error where certain kinds of lights wouldn't work, so now I have more access to some new visual tools! That's what makes the lava here really pop visually, as otherwise the texture would look kind of ugly.

Back to work

I'mma get back to work. My real job has also been a little more than usual as of late, so updates may slow down somewhat. Nevertheless, the game seems to be working now, and I think I got what I deserve from it so far. I don't need to do any more promotion for the game at this point, I just need to make a better game!

  • beer adds time to the timer (5 min.) and lowers anxiety for 20 min. in-game time.

  • Anxiety level rises every hour of in-game time.

  • Sped up time a bit more on high anxiety level.

  • If anxiety level is at 0 for 30 min. in-game, anxiety level will rise to low.

Bugfixes
  • Rock noise below players feet fixed.

  • Screen text during act 3 needed to have creepy droning noise removed.

  • Fixed inventory screen showing wrong items on load game.
