Combining with an invalid item now won't abort combining

On the inventory screen, vacant slots are now not selectable to combine, use, or inspect.

releasing aim while in inventory will stop aiming after closing the inventory

aiming while the inventory is open is not possible anymore

I would like to personally thank everyone who have played and still support and wait for the full release of Dead Faces. 

The game has received a huge update featuring updated graphics, new engine update, new rendering, new systems, new mechanics, full localization for multiple languages and all features and settings most wanted. 

I want Dead Faces to be the best it can be therefore this was a necessary step, as i want to make sure i am giving the players the best possible experience at launch!

With that being said, i am extremely grateful for over 200.000+ downloads across Steam / Itch and the amount of love the game has been shown! I Appreciate all your feedback and have taken it towards my next step which is releasing a brand new Playable Teaser Demo which will feature the first 10-15 minutes of the full games release, that is coming to Steam in Q4 2025. Furthermore the old prologue will remain up on both Steam & Itch, until the new playable teaser arrives.

New trailers are also coming + more information about the full release coming to Steam but for now enjoy these new screenshots from the game!

Last Look along Woodward Boulevard - Garage Heathen
In this update:
  • Fixed arm bots and cannons not updating their behaviour based on the totems inside. Embarassing. Sorry for that!

  • Fixed the "dog" cutscene trigger sometimes not working

  • Transcoded all videos (should help if all video content was missing)

  • Added a speed boost for some puzzles in open environments

Workaround for stutters:

Some people have been encountering stutters/ death triggers firing on scene load, etc.

Please, try disabling forced Nvidias framerate uncapping.

This will force the game to 60 fps. I will be working on fixing this, meanwhile please use the workaround. Sorry again!
