The ladder

English Advance → German Roots → Norman Roots → English Adept → Latin Roots → Greek Roots

Start at Advance if school let you down or English is new to you. Otherwise start at German Roots.
If your first language is a Romance one, take Norman Roots before German Roots.

What is in the set

• FlashBoss — the base game, and with it English Advance (500 words: the English of everyday
  tasks, forms, notices, instructions, offices) and English Adept (1,000 words: the articulate
  vocabulary of an adult reader). Both are free inside the game. They are the floor and the ceiling of the
  course.
  
• German Roots — 1,000 cards, 47 clusters, 48 lessons. The Germanic half of English: the plain
  words, the compounds whose seam has gone invisible, the native prefixes.
  
• Norman Roots — 1,000 cards, 48 clusters, 49 lessons. The Old French layer that arrived in 1066,
  with the Germanic and Latin twin of each idea, and the French spellings you learn to spot.
  
• Latin Roots — 500 cards, 30 clusters, 31 lessons. Every card teaches a paired cousin word beside
  the headword: the prefixes, the great root families, the suffixes.
  
• Greek Roots — 1,000 cards, 56 clusters, 62 lessons. Greek in English with the Greek script on the
  card: the roots, the number and size prefixes, the -ology and -meter endings.

Inside the course, and beyond it

German Roots and Norman Roots sit inside the course — the two layers English is actually made of, and the
reason it has begin and commence, ask and demand. Latin Roots and Greek Roots
sit beyond it, for the linguistically curious: part of the course, and past the point where anyone needs
them. By the end of that pair an unfamiliar technical word comes apart on sight.

Together

5,000 cards across 262 clusters, 217 reference lessons, five tiers in every pack. A boss fight at the end
of every cluster, eight answers on the numberpad. Every card carries a definition, two example sentences,
and notes with the parts the word is built from. Every pack carries the British and American spelling
split as a layer, set by your spelling preference or your English voice.

Card text is English whatever the interface language. That is what the immersion is.
