You’re the goddess of nightmares and the daughter of Hades and Persephone, rulers of the Underworld. Which is to say, you’re very busy. Your duties include delivering nightmares to mortals, attending Messengers’ Council meetings, and honoring the long-standing alliance between the Underworld and Olympus.

Amidst rumors of a Giant uprising, the alliance has never been more crucial. If the gods’ old enemies make a move on the pantheon, it could plunge the realms into a brutal war. Your parents are keen to deter them by marrying you off to Ares, the Olympian god of war. Presenting a strong, united front could stop the slaughter before it starts, not to mention grant you status and power. It doesn’t hurt that Ares is an old friend, a kind god, and a handsome one too.
