What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are just two developers working on the game - both currently working 9-5 jobs as civil engineers! Having devoted most (if not all) of our free time over the past three years developing "The Enjenir", releasing into Early Access will allow us to dedicate more of our time directly on development and speed up the process of adding all of the awesome features and mechanics we have planned for the game!

We feel "The Enjenir" is the perfect type of game for Early Access, and will benefit massively from continuous community engagement throughout the development process and help guide our focus on the important features requested!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We have a very clear vision of what the 1.0 fully feature-complete release of The Enjenir will look like. We estimate that it will take 12 months of Early Access development to achieve this vision. Once released into 1.0 - we are more than happy to continue supporting The Enjenir with brand new missions, content and mechanics - if the demand is there from the community of course!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our main goal during Early Access development, will be to ensure that for the full 1.0 release, all gameplay mechanics are as fully fleshed out as they can be, controls are improved and optimised based on player feedback, and we add as many of the top requested features as we can!

We also plan on properly expanding on the lore and overall story driving the narrative in the game, bringing more life and meaning to ‘The Enjenir’ world. This includes the addition of the "End Game Island" which is effectively the final boss / mission of the overall game - providing the player with the ultimate engineering challenge to beat!

Localisation is another priority during Early Access, as we are aiming to support the game in a of different languages and will be adding more languages throughout Early Access.

We will be providing a full roadmap of the different features we are looking to implement during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in beta and has all the core gameplay mechanics fully functional. This includes the 3D gridless building, ragdoll character platforming, as well as the fully unlimited creative sandbox mode. For Early Access launch, the game will be gameplay and mechanics-driven, giving you a wide series of missions to complete.

There is a free demo available right now, which provides you with 15 missions spread across two levels, as well as a comprehensive tutorial. Here you will be able to effectively play the game in its current state, albeit with limited and restricted features and levels - we’re excited to see what players think of this slice of life view of the game!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Players opting to purchase during Early Access will benefit from a discount compared to the full release price, as well as a further discount if bought during the launch period.

Although we don’t have concrete plans in place regarding the full 1.0 launch price, we do believe in rewarding early adopters who have helped us shape the game during Early Access. We expect the 1.0 build will include a wide number of new features, content, missions etc - which will more than justify the difference in price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Due to the sandbox nature of the game, community engagement throughout the development process is a key objective for us. We will be gathering feedback and engaging with players through Steam and our official Discord server, and are more than happy to discuss upcoming features and potential ideas to implement in the game directly with players.

We also plan on running different types of events, as well as community-driven polls to help us decide what features we should look at developing and prioritise.”
