What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To make sure the game is as polished as possible by the time it gets to full release. As this is our debut game, we need and welcome any community feedback, as we are still growing as a company. We are committed to bring the game to the full potential of our vision.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early access will be a roughly 6-8 month development process, unless there is any unforeseen difficulties slowing down development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In 5 major ways:

1: In order to build a good story and tutorial around the game play loop to ease the players in without having too much of a learning curve. Currently there is no tutorial, which makes it hard for players to learn the complex item and movement system.

2: The final game will have a cloud based ladder system that compares your progression against those in your region, and allows players to compete to show who is the best Bladesmith of them all.

3: For release, the game play loop needs to be fleshed out and provide a lot of content in terms of bosses, items, enemies, drops and rewards. Making sure the level curve provides enjoyment with change and interest with out too much redundancy. The game loop is fairly bare bones for early access debut.

4: In order to provide the best possible experience, it's best to see how people play the game and adjust the UX for release to ease the learning curve and make the VR mechanics user friendly.

5: Fix any bugs and polish certain key mechanics, such as our custom physics, player movement system, and battle system.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Game is feature complete for a basic subsystem. However a major amount of expansions and tweaks and balances need to be made to the systems, and a tutorial and story elements added. The jewellery, boss, ladder/leaderboard and rare item system will be added during early access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The plan is for the price to remain the same across early access and release, unless there is some unforeseen reason to change this.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Any feedback about game play, items, or game systems will be taken under advisement and potentially direct the development of the game to make sure we can make the experience the most enjoyable for the most amount of people.

The community is key for identifying any hard to find or nuanced, nagging bugs or edge cases. Feedback about user experience is key and will augment our in house testing.

Leaving comments, suggestions and bug reports on the Steam discussion board is the best way to help with this process.”
