Bloo Kid 2 has great music, nice graphics, and tight controls. But I just didn't find myself enjoying the levels (I made it through about 2 of the worlds) or the enemies. But for the price--especially on sale--it might be worth a look if you are fan of platformers and want to try something new.

I got this game for free. Its a nice platformer game with oldschool graphics.
I would actually like more depth added to it (use of weapons instead of jumping to kill).

Recommended especially when on sale.

Managed to reach 60 Fps with extrem overclocking on my r9 290x and my fx 8350 (yeah amd sucks i know) but i think that on a i5 6600 and gtx 980 would be pretty easy to run it at steady 60 fps.
Graphically speaking we can think Bloo Kid 2 as the spiritual successor to The Witcher 3, where incredible textures mixes with crazy phisix handling.
The gameplay is quite different from a simple platformer, infact usually u can jump only once, but Bloo Kid 2 offers users the crazy experience of double jumps as seen already on Las Vegas Ces preview.
Looking furter for a Bloo Kid 3 will keep playing this unique masterpiece, which i higly suggest to people trying to have a game experience based on deep dialogues and plots.

It's the best classic-platform based game ever!
Every single mode of this game is relevant and the challenge to do your best is real!
It couldn't be better. I haven't found a single bug.

Inspired by NES titles such as Megaman, Kirby's Adventure and Super Mario 3 - this platformer shows that level design is the most important thing a platformer need. That, in combination with a lot of collectables, makes for a perfect 2-D side scrolling platform game.

9/10

PROs:
- Superb level design
- Tons of collectables
- Achievements incentive
- Good music
- High replay value due to multiple goals within 1 level.

CONs:
- Mobile game, not designed for all screen resolutions (some balloons are impossible unless you tweek the screen resolution)
- Collecting stars is somehow unfair, depending on which difficulty you play. Once you selected difficulty, you can't change it anymore. Meaning, you can bypass the challenge by collecting all stars at EASY difficulty, then rush through Nightmare mode and collect all achievements. But if you started with HARD mode, it will be harder to get some of the stars and playing through everything again is going to be a bore.
- Game can be too easy at times.
- Some enemies are ripped from other games - most notebly the level 1 end boss which is the same as in Kirby's Adventure (NES). The mechanics of other bosses also seem similar to Batman (NES) and Megaman.
- Timer can be exploited by not moving in the beginning of a side-scrolling level. Simply don't move until the camera forces you to. It can save you around 5 seconds making that timer star yours.

Bloo Kid 2 made me famous! Bloo Kid 2 gjorde mig känd!

ENGLISH

Have the most Total Stars in nightmare mode on Bloo Kid 2! Everybody is so impressed by my awesome skills. The day when I took the record, paparazzis were everywhere, girls are screaming and companies wants to sponsor me with millions of crowns (Swedish currency).

After 5 whole hours I felt exhausted. All the pressure I got from all over the world was to much. My Bloo Kid 2 skills wasen't like it use to be, like when I was younger.

I started to do heavy drugs as Coffe and Candy, when I realice that my life was so much more to live for.

So I leave my past and start thinking about the future goals in life. Because if you always dwell on the past, you're probably not going to reach new goals and have awesome adventures in life.

SVENSKA

Upon first glance, this game doesn't seem like much. After player through the first Chapter, 7 levels, it's very much like a Steam version of Mario. With Achievements, time scores, etc. Great gamepad controls, small install, easy to play.

This game reminds me of my childhood. It is very uplifting, especially the music and the sounds.
The double jump is awesome and the superpowers are so cool! I really like the fire superpower, you are invincible then.
Another awesome thing is that you can go through water and you can jump on creatures, too.
I recommend this game because it's fun and it's very cheap !

Retro style 2D platfromer.

GOOD
+ Good controls. No clunky jumps or movement.
+ Music is very good, graphics fit the retro style. Simple but well made.
+ Duration: Finishing the game doesn't take long, but collecting all 360 stars is actually hard and takes a long time. Includes extra game modes (nightmare, boss rush, time attack), but they are quite pointless.
+ Difficulty ramps up from easy to moderately hard. If you want to collect all stars, things will get even harder.
+ Includes references to old classics (Sonic, Kirby, Mario, Donkey Kong or even Altered Beast)
+ Cheap.

BAD
- The options menu is lacking. No resolution options or button remapping.
- Some setups may experience screen tearing. Can be solved enabling v-sync externally, as the game doesn't provide the option.

A great retro platformer which could be right out of the 16-bit era - pixel art, chiptunes and boss fights! The levels are well designed and offer good replay value, especially for achievement hunters. What also really appealed to me is the loving attention to detail you see throughout the entire game.

10/10 - would get all stars again

This is a straight up run, jump, collect the stuff and get to the exit game with a boss at the end of each set of levels. There are several goals for each level such as collect all the stars, kill all the enemies, finish before the clock runs out, etc. There is a single checkpoint about half way through each level.

It is quite fun, and frustrating at times, in a good way. The controls are tight and I have no complaints about the game play.

Two minor points:

1) When you pick up a heart or a power up (or when the power up fades) the whole game freezes while it makes a sound. This is apparently by design and not a glitch. It only last about a half of a second but it throws my timing off and I sometimes get hit because of it.

2) Occasionally, and randomly, the whole game starts chugging and stuttering for a second or two. It doesn't seem to be related to the number of enemeis on the screen. I don't know what language it's written in, but it is possibly just garbage collection. It only happens once, or rarely twice per level and it doesn't usually cause too much of a problem, but is very noticable when it happens.

I've been playing almost two hours and I'm not quite half way through it. It defintely gets tougher and takes longer as you go, and I've made no special effort to complete any of the goals yet. I'm just getting to the exit asap on this run.

This is a port of a mobile game, but it's virtually unnoticable. It plays as well as any other PC game of this type.

Edit: And then I get to the mine cart levels about 3.2 hours in to it and quit. I still had $3.39 worth of fun and still recommend it if you don't mind long, trial and error, jumping from cart-to-cart sequences, but after about 25 tries I have moved on.

Edit 2: I got bored and powered through that terrible cart level. Then a few levels later, there was an even worse cart level (much worse.) I nearly threw my gamepad several times, but I was commited at that point and finally made it and finished the game on normal in 5.3 hours. Probably one full hour of that was the two cart levels.

I don't think the cart levels should be there at all since it's otherwise a straight platformer, but it's still a fun game overall.

The Good:

- Decent level design
- Nice retro graphics
- Interesting enemies
- Great music
- Spot-on controls, controller support

The Bad:

- Generic level settings
- Poor FPS in fullscreen as well as windowed mode
- You are literally playing as a guy with only head & feet
- The game stops for a second when picking up health, which can distract you
- Extra items/collectibles are sometimes in areas you can only reach by jumping onto an enemy. If you fail, you have to restart the whole level to try again
- Bosses are too easy
- Way too short time limits. After it runs out, you can still keep playing but you will not receive the time bonus at the end of the level, which makes 2 playthroughs of all levels mandatory (One normal, one speedrun) if you desire all achievements.

Overall, 7/10

For those who love 2D platformer-style back, Bloo Kid 2 is a required purchase, considering the price.
The levels are replayable without problems, beautiful graphics as well as the old-style gameplay.
(Below is the Italian full review)

Bloo Kid 2 è un platform stile retro, interamente 2D, corri, salta e nuota attraverso cinque mondi composti da 12 livelli ciascuno.
Scoprendo segreti e distruggendo brutali boss!

Il gioco originariamente è nato su smartphone, poi è stato riportato sul grande schermo, con oltre 15 livelli extra.

Feature:

Cinque mondi da 12 livelli ciascuno

Grafica in stile retro

colonna sonora chiptune completa

Battaglie epiche

tonnellate di segreti

Parere personale:
