Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London
Ah, the art of a proper cuppa, quite essential, wouldn’t you agree? We’ve put together a little video to show you how it’s done, because no driver should let their tea take a wrong turn. You may just need this knowledge on the road ahead…

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London

Velkommen til København! Today, we’re taking a closer look at Denmark’s capital city, which has been worked on as part of our ongoing Scandinavia Refresh project for Euro Truck Simulator 2. So what changes can you expect to see? Let’s dive in!

First and foremost, Copenhagen has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, offering players a fresh driving experience through one of Scandinavia’s most iconic cities. This has by no means been a small feat, "The city of Copenhagen was my biggest project since I started working for SCS." Albert B., one of our Map Designers tells us.

Serving as the gateway to Scandinavia, Copenhagen’s location and the Øresund Tunnel serve as a vital link to Malmö and the wider Scandinavian Peninsula. “I tried to create the illusion of scale and distance" Albert tells us, "so when you drive by the tunnel or follow the coast in Copenhagen, you can actually spot Malmö on the horizon.”

But Copenhagen has even more layers to explore. “It’s a very modern and yet very historical city, and I did my best to show both sides,” says Albert. From winding through lively districts to passing stunning landmarks, players will notice how history and modern life come together on the road network itself. “The city is very modern even in its road network, which plays an especially important role in our game. Almost everywhere you drive, you can find a bike path leading there, it doesn’t matter if it’s the city centre or a faraway industrial depot."

In the heart of the city, drivers will be surprised to find an amusement park where a main square might usually be expected. What's even more surprising is that the Rework of Copenhagen will feature two fully animated rides. It’s the perfect spot to grab a unique screenshot of your truck. We really have to give a shoutout to our Assets and Animation departments for bringing these rides to life!

Just a short drive away, you’ll find the Copenhagen City Hall, the Christiansborg Palace and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Art Museum. All of these unique Landmark locations have been recreated in detail by our talented teams, so don't miss out on seeing them!

Copenhagen is also home to some truly unique architecture. The striking twin residential towers located near a challenging underground depot will surely catch your eye; but that's not all. Copenhagen is also home to one of the most innovative waste management plants, which is not only sleek and modern, but also doubles as a ski slope which overlooks the sea.

Yes, you read that correctly! If you choose to purchase your garage here, you’ll be located right in front of this one-of-a-kind landmark, just don't get any crazy ideas!

On your travels in the city, you’ll also be able to spot the Danish Architectural Centre, which is described as an international cultural attraction for those who want to experience and understand how architecture and design create a framework for our lives.

However, don't get too distracted by sightseeing, as there is plenty of work to be done! Copenhagen will feature a variety of depots, including an oil storage facility built on its own man-made island with sweeping views back towards the city, a food processing plant, logistics centres, recycling facilities, an underground depot and even access to the cargo section of the Airport. Copenhagen is filled with opportunities for truckers to discover and take on.

“I hope players can fall in love with this city just like I did,” Albert concludes. “It has been an honour to work on such a stunning place”.

Excited to visit? We look forward to keeping you updated on the development of this project, along with sharing more screenshots and insights into the work taking place. Until next time, safe travels, and bliv ved med at køre lastbil!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - [SCS] DuFF

When creating the upcoming Iceland DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, one road immediately stood out as absolutely essential - Route 1, also known as the Ring Road. This main road circles the entire island and serves as the backbone of Iceland’s transport network. For players, it will become the main route for most journeys, whether you are delivering cargo across the country or simply exploring.

Driving along Route 1 offers a chance to experience some of Iceland’s most iconic sights. From the roadside, you can get a glimpse of the spectacular Seljalandsfoss waterfall, pass through the coastal village of Vík, admire the icy beauty of Jökulsárlón lagoon, wind your way through the dramatic Eastern Fjords, and continue past the volcanic landscapes surrounding Lake Mývatn. Countless rivers, lakes, and valleys accompany the journey, ensuring every stretch of the road has something unique to offer. This is just a short list of the cities and landmarks you will encounter along the way!

The Ring Road is not just about scenery, however. With its many bridges and even an undersea tunnel, it showcases Iceland’s infrastructure and the challenges of connecting distant communities across difficult terrain.

While detours and regional roads will certainly play their part, particularly in the south-west, the Ring Road remains the essential artery for travelling longer distances. It is the heart of almost every adventure you will take in Iceland.

This DLC is still in development, and we look forward to sharing more about it in the future. By now, don't forget to support us by adding the Iceland DLC to your Steam wishlist. Also, remember to give our X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok a follow or subscribe to our newsletter, so you'll receive all of the updates about our games! Until next time, keep on trucking.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Tiktak

A few weeks ago, we shared a blog post about Kiruna, a city in northern Sweden that is being recreated in the upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Since then, we've learnt some fascinating news: Kiruna's 113-year-old wooden church was relocated due to the nearby underground mine. We thought this incredible real-world move deserved a closer look - so today we're bringing you the story behind this remarkable transportation and how we quickly decided to reflect it in the game as well!

Kiruna is known, among many other things, as the home of the world's largest underground iron ore mine. As we mentioned before, this massive site will appear as a depot in the upcoming map expansion - our very first underground depot in ETS2.

However, the mine's ongoing expansion has put parts of the city at risk, including its most iconic landmark: the wooden church built between 1909 and 1912, once voted Sweden's most beautiful building. To preserve the town's heritage, a new city center was constructed, featuring the carefully restored and relocated historic clock tower. The next step was even more ambitious - moving the 672-tonne church.

After months of preparation and safety testing, the church was relocated in August by the Dutch logistics company Mammoet. In its entirety, it traveled roughly five kilometers on steel beams carried by two trains of 28-axle Self-Propelled Modular Transporters, over the course of two days. At nearly 40 meters wide, the move was an extraordinary feat of engineering, requiring even the roads to be widened in advance. Thanks to meticulous planning, the church reached its new home successfully.

We couldn't overlook such an incredible achievement and knew it had to be represented in-game. Our research team gathered visual plans of the new site, allowing us to prototype the area and the church's placement. From there, our talented assets team built the model, and our map designers updated the city of Kiruna with its newly relocated landmark. The whole process took about seven days, bringing this historic move into Euro Truck Simulator 2.

We're happy that we were able to relocate the church in time for the upcoming map expansion, allowing it to shine in its new home within the game as well!

If you are looking forward to exploring Kiruna yourself, make sure to add the Nordic Horizons map expansion to your Steam Wishlist! Stay tuned for more updates from this map expansion by following us on TwitterFacebookInstagramBluesky, and YouTube, or by signing up for our newsletter. Until next time, we will see you on the road!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - [SCS] DuFF

We're incredibly excited to share another update on our ongoing work on the Coaches project for Euro Truck Simulator 2. In our previous post, we shared a broad overview of what this project is all about. Today, we’d like to shine a spotlight on one of the first vehicles we’re working on for this DLC: the Scania Touring.

The Scania Touring is a long-distance coach designed for comfort, safety, and efficiency. First introduced in 2009, it has become a popular choice for operators across Europe and beyond. Depending on its configuration, this model can carry up to 50 passengers, making it a reliable companion for longer journeys. Known for its sleek, modern design and strong reputation in the industry, the Touring continues Scania’s tradition of producing high-quality, dependable vehicles for passenger transport.

Our team is working hard on recreating this coach in the game. From its distinctive exterior design to the carefully considered interior, we’re putting a lot of effort into ensuring that the Scania Touring is brought to life with great attention to detail. As always, this process involves a lot of collaboration between our vehicle artists, designers, and programmers, who are working together to deliver a model that meets our quality standards.

Of course, the work is ongoing, and what you see here today is still a work in progress. We’re excited to be able to share these early previews with you and to give you a first taste of what’s to come.

This is just one of several coaches that will eventually be part of the Coaches DLC, and we can’t wait to show you more in the future as development continues.

We hope you are as excited as we are for the upcoming Coaches DLC as the development continues! For the latest updates, be sure to follow us on our social media channels on X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok, or sign up for our newsletter. If you're looking forward to hitting the road in style, don’t forget to add the Coaches DLC to your Steam Wishlist!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Tiktak

We have great news for all European truckers. The 1.56 Update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is officially here! Let’s take a look at what’s waiting for you on the roads of Europe.

Before we take you through all the new features this update brings to the game, we would like to thank everyone who took part in the Open Beta and reported issues on our forum. This really helped us fine-tune the update and make it ready for the full update release.

Height Blend

The Height Blend effect is a technique used to create more realistic and visually appealing transitions between different types of terrains or surfaces, like grass, dirt, or stone. It works by utilizing a height map texture, a grayscale image that represents the elevation of a surface, to determine how different textures blend together.

For example, where a grassy hill slopes into a rocky cliff, the height blend effect ensures the textures mix naturally based on the terrain's height and slope, avoiding harsh or unnatural edges. For map designers, it eliminates the need for many decals, which previously had to be added to achieve a believable look, saving time and effort.

Under the hood, our team has converted, tweaked, and visually checked over 1,300 materials from our library to ensure seamless integration. During our testing, we didn't observe any significant impact on performance. There is only a minimal increase in memory usage, caused by the newly added texture.

HS-Schoch Tuning Pack DLC Update

With this update, the HS-Schoch Tuning Pack is also receiving a substantial refresh and expansion! Our teams have been working diligently to update this popular DLC, adding new features and addressing many of the community’s requests. Let’s take a closer look at what is coming your way!

Accessory finishes:

  • Chrome

  • Paintable (can now be customised in any colour of your choice)

  • Matte paintable (also fully colour-selectable)

Grilles and Light Bars:

  • Roof bars will have new LED and non-LED versions

  • Front light bars will now feature LED, non-LED, and even strobe versions

  • Bottom grilles will also be updated, with slot-based options as well as an LED version

We are also bringing you two brand-new paint jobs. All of these new additions will give you more freedom to match (or otherwise) the tuning parts with your truck’s paint scheme and overall look!

Since the release of the HS-Schoch Pack, several new trucks have been added to ETS2. With this update, we’ve made sure to include bars for all the vehicles that were not part of the game at the time of the DLC’s original launch. We’re also excited to announce that big auxiliary lights will be receiving improvements, and this will be available to everyone as part of the base game update.

We truly appreciate your passion for customisation, and we’re happy to bring these improvements into the game. We can't wait to see how you tune up your truck with the HS-Schoch Pack! Read the full dedicated blog about the update here.

Special Transport DLC Update - CZ LOKO

Exciting news! With the upcoming 1.56 update, we will introduce new cargoes from the company CZ LOKO, a renowned manufacturer of locomotives, both to the Euro Truck Simulator 2 base game and also as part of the Special Transport DLC, allowing players to haul one of the heaviest cargoes we’ve ever introduced into the game.

In the base game, we will be adding the MUV 75 and EffiShunter 300 locomotives. While these aren't the largest or heaviest machines you'll encounter, don't underestimate them - make sure your truck is well-prepared to handle the load. The MUV 75 tips the scales at over 14 tonnes, while the EffiShunter 300 weighs in at a hefty 36 tonnes.

Our Special Transport DLC roster is expanding with a true heavyweight, the EffiShunter 1000, a massive locomotive built by CZ LOKO. Truckers will haul this behemoth on a lowbed trailer. Just how big is it? The total height (including the trailer) reaches an impressive 5.3 metres, with a length of 16 metres and a width of 3.1 metres. Navigating corners with the EffiShunter 1000 in tow will demand precision and nerves of steel.

Your truck will need a powerful engine for this job - the locomotive alone weighs 80 tonnes, plus another 10 tonnes for the trailer. That's 90 tonnes of pure challenge rolling behind you.

You'll be able to deliver the EffiShunter 1000 along three routes: Berlin to Szczecin, Kassel to Hamburg, and Bremen to Travemünde. Each journey will be escorted by two escort vehicles to help ensure a safe trip from departure to delivery. Still, it's up to you to avoid any mishaps - and to keep this stunning locomotive free from so much as a scratch.

Schmitz Cargobull Trailer Pack DLC Update

We are pleased to reveal an exciting addition to the Schmitz Cargobull Trailer Pack for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Our collaboration with Schmitz Cargobull continues to grow, and this update introduces new trailer types and features that expand your hauling experience.

The highlight of this update is the Schmitz S.CS High Capacity Transport (HCT) configuration. This features two trailers connected with a dolly. Schmitz Cargobull now becomes the second brand in Euro Truck Simulator 2 to feature a 32m HCT trailer setup.

Also arriving in this update is the Schmitz S.KO City chassis, equipped with a steering axle, which provides greater manoeuvrability in tighter spaces. While this feature is primarily aimed at navigating urban environments, in Euro Truck Simulator 2, you are free to take it anywhere you like.

In addition to these trailer configurations, we’re also introducing new lighting options across Schmitz Cargobull S.CS, S.KO, S.BO, and S.KI trailers. These lights proudly display the Schmitz Cargobull logo, adding an extra layer of authenticity to your setup.

Read more about this update at our dedicated blogpost here.

Camera Zoom - Hold/Toggle

The 1.56 update also brings a small but welcomed accessibility feature. Players can now choose whether the interior zoom function requires holding the key (the default) or can be switched to a toggle mode. This option not only adds convenience but also improves accessibility, offering a more comfortable way for all players to take a closer look at the details inside their cab, in the mirrors, and around their truck. Players can find this feature in "Options → Gameplay and Options → Accessibility".

DLC Browser

We are also introducing a brand-new design for the DLC Browser. This redesign aims to make browsing and discovering additional content for your game easier and more enjoyable.

The updated browser now features improved categorization, with clear sections such as Featured, Bundles, Map, Cargo, Trailer, Accessories, and Paint Jobs. The main layout has been completely redesigned, increasing the number of items displayed per row from three to four for a cleaner and more modern look.

The DLC browser is just the beginning of a feature with the potential to grow and evolve further. While it may take time and further development to see how far it can go, the vision is to make it possible for players to explore and enjoy all our DLCs without ever leaving the game. We plan to continue gathering feedback, and this feature might get some future adjustments.

Career Creation and Start-up Flow

We gave the career system a big refresh, which includes a new UI design and improved navigation. The old table-style list of careers has been replaced with larger, card-like slots that give a cleaner and more modern look. Your active career will always appear at the top, with your other careers sorted by most recent playtime. The first slot is reserved for starting a brand-new career, and switching between your careers is now quicker; simply double-click on a card to jump right in.

Whether you're a new player or a seasoned veteran, the career creation process has also been redesigned to be simpler and clearer, focusing only on the most important options and selections needed when starting a new career.

A new Truck Preference screen has also been added between selecting your headquarters and the opening cutscene. Here, you can preview all available trucks in a rotating 3D view that spins automatically, or you can rotate them yourself. You'll be able to cycle through brands, switch between different models, or even press a “random” button to let the game surprise you. We hope this new preference screen gives both new and experienced players a detailed look at each truck and its key specifications.

We've also refreshed the Edit Career screen, which now focuses only on details that really matter for your career. Many of the older fields have been moved elsewhere, keeping the editing process simple and uncluttered. To make things more convenient, clicking on your career from the desktop top bar now opens a new Driver Details screen, where you can view all the important info about your career and even change your avatar without having to return to the title screen.

This redesigned approach not only makes career navigation smoother but also gives the whole experience a cleaner, more modern feel. Whether you're starting your very first trucking journey or managing multiple careers, we hope this update makes your career management more streamlined and accessible. As we gather more input, this feature could see further improvements down the road.

Management UI/UX Improvements

In the Company tab on the Desktop, the Driver, Trailer, Truck, and Garage Manager screens now feature a redesigned company subscreen. The refreshed company subscreen shows the company name and logo alongside key statistics, a redesigned seven-day profit graph, and highlights of the most profitable assets. It also introduces an economy summary pop-up for quick performance review and a company properties option for editing the name and logo.

We've also added a quality-of-life improvement to the relocation screen: when both a driver and their truck can be placed in the same garage slot, a checkbox allows relocating them together in one step. To improve accessibility, the Garage Manager and Driver Manager are now unlocked from the very start of the game, rather than only after purchasing a truck.

Finally, the Driver Manager subscreen has been polished with a clearer layout, including a new XP bar that lets players track their NPC drivers' progress, and a simplified job information and skills overview, where you can assign a collective preferred training policy for newly hired drivers. Our plan is to keep gathering feedback, so in the future, this feature might be further refined.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - [SCS] DuFF

As part of our ongoing Scandinavia Refresh project for Euro Truck Simulator 2, we'd like to share another exciting update with you. Today, we invite you to explore new routes through Denmark. This addition not only expands your options on your journey but also enriches the landscapes, settlements, and landmarks you’ll encounter along the way.

With this update, we'll introduce Motorway 16 (Hillerødmotorvejen) and Road 26 (Primærrute 26), offering a fresh inland passage across Denmark. These routes add a more varied and authentic experience to your travels, complete with two brand-new gas stations to keep you and your truck rolling on your adventures.

One of the highlights of this new connection is the road through Viborg. Here, you’ll find one of the newly added gas stations. Viborg’s placement makes it an ideal stop for both short and long hauls, offering a chance to refuel before continuing your journey deeper into Denmark.

Heading westwards, the route passes near the charming town of Skive. While the main flow of traffic skirts around the settlement, keen-eyed drivers may notice four of the “11 Stars of Skive” (more information on page 50) along the way. These four sculptures are: Torvet, Tegnet, Vestenvinden, and Kraka, which stand proudly as artistic landmarks, giving drivers an extra layer of local flavour to admire as they pass through.

Further along, the road reaches V. Vilsund, home to the second new gas station. Here, drivers will also cross the impressive Vilsundbroen bridge. In real life, this is a drawbridge that occasionally opens for passing ships. While it remains fixed in our in-game version, we are still proud to bring this important regional landmark to life for players to experience.

The addition of Roads 16 and 26 represents yet another step in our commitment to refreshing and enhancing the Scandinavia DLC. By continuing to expand and improve these areas, we aim to ensure that your trucking experience remains immersive, diverse, and as realistic as possible.

We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon as work on the Scandinavia Refresh project continues. Until then, keep your eyes on the road and enjoy exploring Denmark’s newest connections!

Make sure to follow us on our social media X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok, or subscribe to our newsletter to receive all of the latest news about our games!

That's it for today! Have a good one and as always, keep on trucking!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - London

With the upcoming arrival of our new Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, we know many of you are curious about how the bus and coach experience will work across our in-game world. A big part of that experience is, of course, the bus stations themselves.

These locations will serve as the main hubs where players pick up and drop off passengers, and they’ve recently been receiving extra attention from our team as we prepare the in-game world for coaches. From refreshing old prefabs to introducing brand-new stations, we spoke with two of the developers involved in shaping ETS2 for this upcoming module.

"When work on Project Coaches began, there were already 7 prefab bus station models used in over 100 locations across the ETS2 map." Dominik, Producer of Project Coaches, explains “Our plan is to completely rework 6 of them, as they are almost 10 years old, while one of the newer prefabs from our Road to the Black Sea DLC will receive a light refresh. Some layouts will remain similar, but others will receive brand-new designs, based on real life locations. Unlike the older prefabs, which were surrounded by fences or walls, the new ones will allow us to remove them, so stations can connect more naturally with the environment. It may sound like creating those stations in the first place was work wasted, but it wasn’t, those prefabs served well as placeholders, and thanks to them, we can now rebuild and have over 100 coach stations ready across the map.”

However, not every bus station you’ll encounter was already in the game. In fact, many new stations are being added to improve overall coverage across Europe. “We checked the station distribution and tried to cover as many blank spaces as possible, and also add coach stations to most of the main cities,” explains Dominik. “Sometimes our map designers had already built custom coach stations, similar to custom depots. In other places, we didn’t have anything close to the city centre or to the real coach station location, so we had to improvise and use a small stop, which in reality is sometimes used by coaches.”

Of course, some stations stand out more than others. When possible, we’ve aimed to recreate famous or landmark coach stations. “Whenever there was a possibility to include a real-world landmark coach station within our map scale, we tried to use it and build a completely new station. A perfect example is Hunedoara in Romania, which is a completely unique landmark location. In some cases, we could even add a new road and fit a reworked prefab with a few notable landmarks around it.” explains Dominik.

Kain, one of our Map designers, adds: “Some custom stations will be harder than others to navigate. Our testers are making sure they are difficult, but not impossible, to manoeuvrer in. In some stations, you may encounter other vehicles already parked up, this will be a rare occurrence, but will make that stop much more challenging.”

Beyond visuals, the functionality of bus stations has also been improved. “With the new prefab stations, we did research on regulations for how much space is needed for coaches to manoeuvre. With the addition of smaller stops, players will have a really different experience depending on where they are” adds Dominik.

We’ve also seen some players on our forums asking whether the map updates coming with Project Coaches will be exclusive to those who own the DLC. We’re happy to confirm that any changes made to the base map or existing map expansions will be available to everyone who owns ETS2 or the respective map DLC, regardless of whether you own the Coaches DLC itself.

The work doesn’t end at release. As Dominik tells us, “We plan to long-term support Coaches by adding new stations to future DLCs and reworks, as well as to the current base map.”

We hope you enjoyed reading about the ongoing work for Project Coaches for Euro Truck Simulator 2. If you're excited to get behind the wheel of a coach, be sure to add this upcoming module to your Steam Wishlist. We look forward to sharing more news with you about this addition as development continues. Until next time, safe travels!
