"Mononoke no Kuni” will be showcased at WePlay Expo 2025, held in Shanghai from November 22–23, 2025!

WePlay is one of the largest game and pop-culture events in China, bringing together indie games, AAA titles, creators, streamers, and fans from around the world.

Aegis Force: The Scorian War - Aegis_Force_CM

Greetings soldiers of Genua! Remember our OG demo where Callon & Orvus go on their first mission in the border town of Lendene? The team has been working hard incorporating all the art, UI, VFX, sound design, and cut scene updates we worked on for the Ruiners Pass demo into our original prologue so we can combine the two into one amazing "first chapter". Stay tuned, we're getting close to finishing testing...

Technical Updates

We released two additional patches in October where we added in the new cathedral playable area and also fixed some combat and directional bugs. One of our most common bug reports was not being able to use potions to heal characters outside battle, and that is fixed now :)

What's coming up?

  • Polish prologue updates and bug fixes

  • Adding language selection screens and translation text (working on French, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, Spanish, Russian at the moment with more to come)

  • Integrate new cutscenes

  • Continue visual polish of cathedral interior and resolve camera angle issues

What's Coming

We're putting the finishing touches on the prologue update and will share with all of you once the first chapter is completely integrated and ready to play. We've still got a long list of things to do to make the playing experience even better and your comments help us build this out further! TRAIN CREW - Mizotsuki Rail (Acty)

-Fixed an issue where setting the automatic uncoupling device to the “Couple” position before coupling caused the train to become unable to proceed once the cars were mechanically connected.

*Correct procedure: the automatic uncoupling device should be set to the “Couple” position after the actual coupling takes place.

-When the automatic uncoupling device is set to either “Couple” or “Release,” it will now return to the “Drive” position after 5 seconds (spring-return type).

-Removed the ride-quality scoring that occurred at the moment of coupling.

-Fixed an issue where the “Door Hold Open” switch stopped functioning after coupling when “Forced Driver-Only Operation” was enabled.

-Door switch can now be assigned to a single key for opening/closing.

-Door switches can now be assigned to separate keys for left/right operation.

(Left/right is based on the direction of travel.)

*When using separate left/right keys, doors can currently be opened without inserting the door key.

-Fixed an issue where the sunshade did not move after coupling.

-Added a TimeTable folder next to the executable file.

It contains the timetable and diagram (same as those distributed on the website).

・強制ワンマン設定時、連結後に開保持SWが動作しなくなる不具合を修正しました。

・ドアスイッチの開閉を同一キーに割り当てても動作するようにしました

・ドアスイッチの開閉を左右別にキー割り当てできるようにしました。(左右は進行方向基準です。)

※左右別のキー操作で開扉する場合、現状鍵の差し込みをしなくてもドアが開くようにしています。

・連結後に遮光板が動かない不具合を修正しました。

・実行ファイルの場所にTimeTableフォルダを追加しました。中にスタフとダイヤグラム(ホームページで配布しているものと同じ)が入っています。

Welcome to the v1.4! It's sure been a long time coming (half a year!) and I'm glad to finally get it out there! You can read the patch notes below.

Within the next week, I'm gonna be rolling out a patch to fix any bugs we find / make balance changes. Also, I'll be making a nubby news post pretty soon to talk about the future of the game. Until then, enjoy!

Big additions in V1.4:

==========

-Added the cosmetics menu to the game! In the cosmetics menu, you can unlock and use a bunch of different cosmetic nubby skins to play with in game AND you can also unlock and play with a bunch of new item skins to spruce things up a bit! Both nubby skins and item skins are unlocked using stars. There are some special nubby skins and item skins that are unlocked by getting achievements and making progress in the game.

-Added new supervisor: "Dwarf Tony". Unlockable with stars.

-Added "The Nubby Trials" as challenges to the game. This is a set of 5 difficult challenges where you attempt to beat a normal 80-round run. The main point is that every 10 or so rounds, the game activates a "trial" that is basically a mini challenge. Trials range pretty heavily in effect, and they're all meant to throw a curveball in how you'd normally play the game to encourage using all your nubby knowledge to beat a run, instead of relying on your typical go-to builds. There are 5 trials per difficulty level of the nubby trials, and 5 difficulty levels. This means that there's 25 total trials to overcome in the entire nubby trials series of challenges.

-Added steam achievements

Item & Perk additions:

-Added upgraded versions of ALL food items (including new food items added in this update)

-Added common food item: "Jelly"

-Added common food item: "Tri-Bagel"

-Added new item category, "Evil", exclusive to nubby trials. Evil items cannot be moved, upgraded, sold, or otherwise destroyed.

-Added 8 and a half new "evil" items, exclusive to nubby trials

Item & Perk Tweaks/Reworks:

-All ultra-rare black market items have been moved to the rare item pool.

-Slight rewording of donut item description.

-Slight rewording of starfruit item description.

-Soup crackers (rare tier food item) moved down to common tier

-Chip and broken chip now give you +1 reroll instead of instantly rerolling when you eat them.

-Reworked mollusk item. Mollusk is now a common, non-corrupted octony exclusive item.

-New mollusk effect: Nubby launched -> Mutates into a random common item that is not currently in your inventory for the rest of the round.

-New mollusk+ effect: Nubby launched -> Mutates into a random rare or ultra-rare item that is not currently in your inventory for the rest of the round.

-Reworked asbestos item. Asbestos is now a common corrupted item.

-New asbestos effect: 4 pegs halved -> Mimics the non-upgraded effect of the item in SLOT 2, but keeps its own trigger.

-New asbestos+ effect: 4 pegs halved -> Mimics the upgraded effect of the item in SLOT 2, but keeps its own trigger.

Bug Fixes:

==========

-Fixed game-ruining issue where some players weren't able to get past the title screen without the game crashing. (Note: This is a half-fix because this issue is due to save corruption in the autosave save file. While I cannot fix the issue of save corruption itself, I made some tweaks that ensure that you won't get permanently locked out of the game if your autosave file does unfortunately get corrupted.)

-Asbestos insulation particles now affected by defined particle settings

-Fixed loud "popping" noise that occurs when many asbestos insulation summons are destroyed simultaneously

-Fixed physics bug where nubby could get stuck on the upper left/right corners when playing on the hunter tony supervisor

-Fixed board-clear fireworks particles crash

-Fixed skip tutorial button crash

-Fixed squirmy having a 1/51 chance to metamorphosize instead of a 1/50 (as advertised). Nerfed to unplayability.

-Fixed the raygun perk's delay in its spinning animation.

-Changed The Mystery Box Perk's name to "The Mystery Box Perk" instead of "Mystery Box Perk".

-While playing as octony, the squid item price is now 5 coins instead of 6, like it's supposed to be.

Other changes:

==========

-Seeded runs no longer update supervisor highscore or update supervisor wins count.

-Added a button on the title screen that links to the nubby wiki

-If you try to play your current ongoing autosaved run in a newer version of the game (e.g. when you update the game), your autosave file will be deleted when you try clicking the "load game" button on the title screen, instead of deleting automatically. It will also give a small dialogue box that explains that your autosaved run was deleted due to incompatibility. This is partly a fix for the save corruption softlock mentioned above, and also to prevent bug report false alarms.

-If you beat all challenges AND all new nubby trials levels: changes color of challenges gui background, challenges screen background, and you get a sticker!

-You can no longer move items around in your inventory while the board is restocking

-For the "food effect" sound fx in cafe nubby, the audio will play at normal pitch when an effect successfully triggers instead of 1.3x normal pitch

-Removed the soup crackers "item transform" sound fx

-Adjusted upgraded flame thrower sound fx (lower pitch)

-Lowered volume of supervisor unlock jingle sound fx

-Added item sound fx for asbestos

-Added item particle effects for asbestos

-Added item sound fx for uranium rod
