Reworked jumping controls!
Now more intuitive and user-friendly than ever!



Here’s how it works: first, click anywhere on the map to lock in the direction you want to jump. Once that’s set, the jump power begins charging up. The initial angle is calculated automatically, but you can fine-tune it by moving your mouse up or down. When you’re ready and the timing’s right-click again to launch!

That's the theme of the new maps!



Bleak, grim, and downright dangerous! Step into the wasteland where water isn’t your friend - it’s radioactive and will slowly eat away at your health. Scattered around are barrels leaking radiation too, so keep your distance if you want to stay in one piece!

New weapons!
Sniper Rifle

Perfect for long-range combat! It deals a solid 60 HP of damage - meaning a clean headshot will instantly take out your target. The only drawback? It fires about a quarter of a second slower than the other weapons. But in the right hands and at the right moment, this thing is absolutely lethal.

Radiation Bomb

A deadly throwable that unleashes a lingering radioactive cloud lasting for 5 turns! Any player unlucky enough to end their turn inside that toxic mist will suffer between 25 and 35 damage - so unless you fancy glowing in the dark, stay the hell out of it!

Moquito Jar

Not to brag, but this might be my finest bit of madness yet - seriously, what other game lets you weaponize a jar full of mosquitoes? Throw it somewhere near your opponent, and at the end of each turn, the swarm will move toward the closest player. Anyone surrounded by the buzzing cloud takes between 1 and 10 damage. It might not be much, but it’s definitely annoying - just like real mosquitoes!

New unlockables!



When you play on post-apocalyptic maps, you’ll have the chance to earn unique outfit pieces - keep collecting them to complete the full, badass post-apocalyptic armor set!

Reworked bot logic!
The bots just got a serious upgrade! Their intelligence has been improved - they’re now more dangerous, more aware of their surroundings, and far less likely to accidentally take themselves out. This means smoother, smarter, and more engaging matches - whether you’re playing solo or in multiplayer with bots!

New music!
Fresh new tracks have been composed exclusively for J-Jump Arena! by the talented Scumulous!
These new additions join the existing soundtrack, bringing even more variety and energy to the game. You’ll hear Scumulous’ original music in both the new Postapocalypse maps and the classic Canyon maps - perfectly setting the mood for every battle!

Sandbox mode!
A relaxed mode with no real objectives - just pure fun! Jump around freely, experiment with weapons, and test out all the game mechanics at your own pace. Perfect for practicing or just messing around without any pressure!

Additional maps!
Aside from the brand-new post-apocalyptic maps, six new duel maps have been added across the existing biomes! And that’s not all - there’s also a brand-new race map set in the swamp biome!

New translations!
The game just got even more accessible! German and French translations have been added, allowing even more players to enjoy the experience in their own language.

Other Fixes and Changes...

Here’s a list of smaller - but still noteworthy - tweaks and improvements made since the last update:
  • Players on fire now lose between 10-20 HP (previously always 15).
  • The mine’s trigger aura is now less visible.
  • Updated weapon descriptions to clearly show each weapon’s damage.
  • Fixed several bugs related to weapon spawning in Duel Mode.
  • Default mouse sensitivity has been slightly reduced for smoother control.
  • Added a new rain effect to Swamp maps.
  • Swamp maps now start with pre-spawned mosquito swarms.
  • Improved ragdoll mechanics.

Who was able to clear all the new stages?

We hope everyone has had a fun time raiding each new stage in our newly renewed Demo for this October Steam Next Fest.

There were many changes to the game for the Last Squad members, improvements to the interface of the game and new content added. We are still receiving all the feedback that you are sending us, so we can refer to that before our next update.

Thank you for all the big support and all the wishlists you have given us!


What Has Changed

  • Gameplay Adjustments: Complete rework of all 6 heroes, Rebalance for both multiplayer and single player modes, Character level-up system and hero traits rework.

  • New Features: 2 new maps (total of 6 new stages), 1 new boss

  • Quality of Life Improvements: New Results Screen, Enhanced Options Menu, Improved Game Entry Screen and Character Selection screen.

  • Visual/Audio Updates: Improved modeling of each hero, new visual effects for hero skills, improved map visuals.


What to Look Out For

With the hero rework and new stages we would like to check how much more fun and balance the game has become. We would like you to play with your favorite character and clear the hardest stage!

Beware it will not be easy so make sure you grow your character appropriately and train your skills.


Tips & Tricks for Surviving the Demo

  • Keep a good track of your ammo, and make sure to search for the air supplies.

  • Don’t be afraid of using skills, but mind their cool time.

  • Check the hero traits in the lobby and make your favorite hero stronger.

Death, Dying, and Incapacitation Overhaul

The adventurer lifecycle has been rebuilt from the ground up. Death, exhaustion, recovery, and post-quest states now interact cleanly with the game’s core systems, resolving long-standing edge cases and logic conflicts.

This work touched nearly every major gameplay system—party management, quest resolution, and data persistence—and provides the structural integrity those systems needed.

Engine and Shader Migration

Epic Tavern has been migrated toUnity 2021, requiring the complete recreation of all shaders within Unity’s node-based Shader Graph. This rebuild restores compatibility, improves rendering stability, and brings the project onto a sustainable modern toolset.

Data and Tooling Integration

The Google Sheets for Unity connector has been repaired and updated, restoring live gameplay data editing and balancing tools.

GOG Galaxy integration has been updated and stabilized for current SDK versions.

Helrift - Scottwillib

We are moving closer to a closed public test! Right now, we are focused on internal testing, identifying and fixing bugs, refining systems, populating maps and ensuring everything runs smoothly before opening the doors for wider testing.

Internal Testing

During a 3-hour playtest from character creation to visiting the Dockmaster to travel to Aresden or Elvine, we identified 12 bugs and 26 feedback items. All issues are being addressed to make the game as reliable as possible, allowing for wider testing to focus on PvP and balancing.

Bugs need squashing!

We also added Bronze Armour to strengthen early-game balance and progression. It bridges the gap between starting gear and tougher encounters on Traveller's Island, giving new players a smoother, more rewarding path through their first quests and encounters.

Making Helrift Faster and More Reliable

After a few 3:00am finishes Vamp has built a brand-new Gate System for Helrift! Think of it as a smart front door to the game: it handles player logins, keeps track of accounts, characters, guilds, and even cosmetics, and then guides players to the right part of the world. By separating the “front door” (Gate System) from the world itself (Game Servers), Helrift can now:

  • Handle lots of players logging in at once without slowing down the game

  • Keep player data safe, consistent, and free from duplication

  • Easily expand the world in the future with more game servers

Backend and login improvements

We’re moving to Steam logins and work is underway to make this fully functional.

Additionally, items are being separated from characters in the database, meaning item operations happen independently. This removes the possibility of duplication and allows us to track individual items across the world.

Game Content and Features

Occlusion

In top-down combat, it’s easy for other players or mobs to become hidden behind buildings, trees, or terrain features.

With the new occlusion system, characters that move behind objects can now be seen. This allows players to maintain situational awareness without breaking immersion, particularly during fast-paced PvP battles.

Clothing Dyes

Whether you want to match your guild colours, stand out in town, or just express your style, clothing dyes give you the freedom to look the way you want.
