It's been a long time coming - we are now walking on the road to Medic: Pacific War's eventual launch. Welcome to the briefing for Operation Lifeline, Medic.

In this devlog, we're going to talk about the "missions" we're planning for the Operation, a small talk about the launch date, and the most-awaited part of this - an invite to our inaugural Feature Playtest.

Our First Mission - Feature Playtest #1

Before anything else - it's imperative that we talk about our first mission. This coming November 7th, we'll be holding our first-ever post-Demo Feature Playtest, where you'll get to test out our newest features and provide feedback for us to shape Medic: Pacific War into your much-anticipated experience.

Feature Playtest #1 Details

On our inaugural Feature Playtest, we'll let you test out our latest additions/changes to the game. Please note that these features are not yet final and may be removed/changed/tweaked based on your feedback.

  • Arena Mode Gameplay Tweaks - We’ve made adjustments to pacing, flow, and the overall feel of Arena Mode. With refined feedback systems and revised info displays that make each rescue more intense and realistic, we believe that these tweaks are meant to reward awareness and precision under pressure.

  • Proximity Detection of Wound Types - You’ll now discover wound types upon approaching the injured, or at least within the range of one, instead of learning about them when you interact with them. This subtle yet impactful change increases immersion and urgency, compelling you to take action more closely.

  • Additional Simultaneous Wounded Soldiers - The number of simultaneous wounded soldiers has increased - forcing you to decide, prioritize, and adapt quickly when every second counts.

  • Further Optimizations - We’ve implemented broad performance improvements across both Arena Mode and the Story Mode Demo. Smoother gameplay, improved frame rates, and better stability during the most demanding moments of the battle are expected for most, if not all.

How to Participate in the Playtest

  • Join our Official Medic: Pacific War Discord Server by clicking the button below.

  • In the #playtest-Invite channel on Discord, click on the reaction on the message posted to get the "Playtester" role. After you receive the role, you will see the Feature Playtest channels under its own category.

  • Wait for announcements in the #playtest-announcements channel, and the scheduled date of the playtest.

Operation Lifeline - Road to Launch

Now, about Operation Lifeline, Medics. This is where everything comes together for us, the grand tour before the day. With the first Feature Playtest mission already briefed, there will be many more to follow. Check out some of the events we've planned for Operation Lifeline.

  • More Feature Playtests - the first one won't be the last one. We plan to run at least two more Feature Playtests in the future, with additional features and improved quality based on the performance and feedback received from each one.

  • More Demo Updates - as we go through the playtests and all the feedback we will eventually receive, we'll update the demo to show the results to everyone. This should effectively continue hyping up everyone towards the release of the game.

  • Demo-centric Community Events - the demo isn't just a one-off release with continuous updates, it's also our current weapon for anything event-wise. We are planning to run events based on the demo, including competitions, speedruns, and whatever else possible for you to keep coming back to the current build of the game.

Moving the Launch Date

We’re moving Medic: Pacific War to Q2 2026.

We know we’ve shifted dates before, and after more than five years in development, that can be frustrating - thank you for sticking with us.

We’re taking the extra time to finish the things that matter: tighter pacing and AI, clearer gameplay loop and UX, more realistic yet enjoyable medical system, broader optimization for all types of PCs, improved stability, and the content and polish that make a first playthrough feel unforgettable - not just “done.”

We’re genuinely excited about where the game is heading, and we’d rather ship the version you’ll be proud to recommend than release something that isn’t worthy of your support.

In the meantime, we’ll keep rolling out feature playtests, demo updates, and community events so you can see - and shape - our progress interactively. Your patience and feedback are the lifeline of this project.

The Backrooms: Reset - germz

* Added Level 18 "Nostalgic Memories" and it's corresponding achievement.

* Level 17 now transitions to Level 18.

* New entity, "Shadow Entity" added to Level 18.

* Steam Overlay now works.

* Reduced camera render distance from 10000 to 1000 to improve performance on levels with lots of 3D objects. It should not even be noticeable.

* Added Vending Machine ambient sound to all vending machines.

* Fixed sound not playing when continuing a game.

* Small bug fixes.

Known Bugs:

* Something is causing frame drops on Level 18 when looking a certain direction, and I cannot find the cause (yet). Frames do not drop below 30 fps, but it is noticeable and jarring.

* Sound is not turned off when turning sound off in the options menu.

* Display options menu requires clicking twice to activate/deactivate the first time.

* Display changes revert back to default on any level load.

* If the player is looking straight up, the screen goes black.

Known Issues:

* The exe file is not signed, so Microsoft and antivirus software do not like it.

* Requires Microsoft Edge Webview2 to run the game, which comes packed in the game file folder.

(Your Windows PC should have it already installed unless Microsoft Edge was uninstalled, or never installed.)

We have added new monsters, enhanced the gameplay experience of Chapter One, fixed the levelfun carpet bug, fixed the level-250 flying bug, added guidance hints for multiple levels, introduced the newly remastered Level 14, and revamped the new UI interface.

The Legacy - Second Reality
Greetings, Survivors!

This update brings important changes and improvements to The Legacy, focusing on optimization (a 10–15% FPS boost), overall convenience, and game atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who helps us hunt down bugs, share feedback, and suggest ideas — it’s thanks to you that The Legacy keeps getting better with every update. In the next patch, you can expect plenty of new crafting recipes, a reworked storyline, a completely new save system, and the very first type of transport!

We continue to work hard on every aspect of the game. Special attention is being given to the storyline, the addition of interactive NPCs, new crafting recipes, items, food, water, and expanded world interactions.

In addition, this update launches a Halloween Event that will last until the next patch. Across the world, you’ll find magical pumpkins — breaking them can reward you with random rare or common items useful for survival, as well as experience points.
We’re also developing a skill system that will let you spend earned experience and levels to unlock abilities that make surviving and fighting enemies easier.

All this and much more awaits you in the current and upcoming updates.
