We're back with another big one! Here's the tl;dr!

  • San Celeste, a brand new Italian map!

  • Counter-Battery mechanics to spice up artillery gameplay.

  • A new Mortar Pit construction to protect your mortars.

  • Complete 🇫🇷 French game localization.

  • New death status on the scoreboard.

Read on below for more details and pretty pictures!

San Celeste

A new Italy map has hit the shores! This is a fictional map meant for 8-32 players, and so should be a good map for low population games!

As Sicily falls into allied hands, and the fight centers around mainland Italy, a US company is dispatched to secure the small island of Salina.

On the island, specifically in the town of San Celeste, the last die hard fragments of the ‘Livorno’ division dig in for a final stand What is supposed to be a walk over for the allies turns into a much fiercer battle than allied high command could ever expect.

The deep lore behind this map is that Razorneck started playing Mafia 2 and got inspired to make a pretty little Italian village!

Counter-Battery

In this update, we are adding a new (somewhat experimental) mechanic that we think will add some depth and complexity to the current artillery gameplay. We call this system "counter-battery"!

How it Works

When you fire an artillery piece, enemy players will be able to see a short temporary marker approximating the location of your gun.

The accuracy of this mark is dependent on the size of the gun, where larger guns (e.g., 10.5cm howitzers) have more accurate marks than smaller ones (e.g., 8cm mortars).

As the gun is continually fired, keen-eyed observers can estimate a position of the enemy gun and mark it for counter-battery fire. To aid in this, there is a new "Enemy Artillery" spotting type that can be marked on the map.

Motivation & Goals

In the current meta, long-range artillery pieces are virtually immune from attack unless the enemy can get a direct sight on them. This is at odds with the battlefield reality of the time, where sophisticated artillery ranging equipment was deployed to locate enemy guns with acoustic listening posts, a technology birthed out of necessity in the Great War, and significantly improved during World War 2.

We hope that this change will have the following effects:

  • Create a meaningful advantage to wise placement of artillery pieces (i.e., dissuading players from creating tightly packed batteries that are easy to locate and destroy).

  • Create a major advantage for mobile artillery (e.g., Wespe, Priest) since they are able to avoid incoming counter-battery fire.

  • Create another objective for artillery operators other than responding to fire request markers.

Trivia
  • This system was inspired by the Blitzkrieg series of games by Nival Interactive.

  • We toyed with the idea of adding physical constructions for the listening posts that would be more accurate depending on different triangulation characteristics, but we did not want to further burden logistics players.

This is obviously an experimental feature, so we will make adjustments if the outcomes don't align with the goals of the system. We look forward to seeing how this changes the artillery game!

Mortar Pit Construction

This new system makes unprotected 8cm mortars uniquely vulnerable to enemy fire since they are currently unable to be moved (we plan on adding the ability to move these later). To provide some protection from counter-battery fire, we have added a new Mortar Pit construction!

This is the first construction that uses the new "sockets" system that let's constructions slot into places where the placement rules would otherwise forbid it.

Sockets were developed for the upcoming mounted MGs, but it works perfectly for this new construction too!

Scoreboard Improvement

To help with situational awareness, you can now see who is dead or alive on your team on the scoreboard!

🇫🇷 French Localization

Sacrebleu! At long last, DH is now fully localized to French! This was brought to you by long-time historical contributor Frenchy (what a fitting name)!

A reminder that if you want to use the French translation, you must have your Steam Interface Language set to French! For a guide on how to do this, click here.

Looking ahead, We also have a nearly complete 🇯🇵 Japanese localization that should be ready to release in the next couple weeks.

If you want to help get DH translated to your native tongue, please let us know in the Discord! We are currently looking for translators for Portuguese, Italian and Chinese!

Changes & Fixes
  • Squad leaders can now only place constructions when squadmates are near. However, they can now also use their shovel to build. This should eliminate the annoyance of suddenly not being able to build if a teammate runs off.

  • Added a minimum hold time for following grenades:

    • F1 Grenade

    • L-Type Grenade

    • SCRM mod. 35 Grenade

  • Fixed M4A3E2 Sherman "Jumbo" armor values to be more historically accurate. This increases the armor thickness by about ~15%.

  • Fixed a bug where rallies would be overrun by friendly vehicles (this was a regression since v12.0.9).

  • Fixed missing vertical tilt on Gundlach periscopes for a number of vehicles (e.g., T34, IS-2, Cromwell, Churchill).

  • Fixed one of the ISU-152 periscope overlays to be more historically accurate.

Map Changes

Ponte Olivo Airfield
  • Reduced Allied respawn interval on first objective line from 15 to 10 seconds.

  • Increased objective lock down timer for first two objectives from 10 to 12 minutes.

  • Increased Italian Cannone 47 limit from 5 to 9.

Gela
  • Reduced Allied ticket multiplier from 32 to 30.

  • Semovente 47s are now unlimited.

  • Increased Italian Cannone 47 limit from 5 to 8.

Pegasus Bridge
  • Moved static mortar placements further back to allow them to be used earlier in the game.

Renthem
  • Fixed missing AT weapons for Germans.

Myshovka River
  • Fixed skybox from blocking mortars fired at high elevations.

  • Rebalanced tank and role loadouts.

  • Made minefields more forgiving.

  • Reduced team ratio imbalance.

Yaryshivka
  • New overview map.

  • Minefields adjusted.

  • Equalised tickets for both teams.

Albion Online - Ekki Mukk

Season 29 will be remembered as a season shaped by ruptured alliances, unexpected retreats, and finales decided in minutes. Each region told its own story, but all shared one thread: no coalition, no guild, and no plan came through the final weeks of the season unscathed.

Albion Europe
Season 29 on Albion Europe unfolded like a saga of broken oaths and bitter ambition. GIRTH opened strong with a clean sweep of the top three places, but the alliance soon splintered when Skoggangr broke away after clashes with Heralds of Valhalla. Raids followed, setting the Outlands ablaze and reshaping the political map. As Take Care surged toward first place, the real drama played out just behind them: Heralds of Valhalla holding the line, Utopia launching a costly campaign for third, and Skoggangr stalking the podium with growing momentum.

In the end, GIRTH’s fractured unity held long enough to secure a full podium sweep: Take Care first, Heralds of Valhalla second, and Utopia third, an achievement rumored to have cost them over 5 billion Silver. Skoggangr, though shut out of the top three, became the season’s defining disruptor and a looming threat for Season 30. A special shoutout to every guild that hit Crystal Rank this season, with a record of 24 guilds in total reaching the top spots!

Albion Asia
On the surface, Albion Asia lived through one of its quieter seasons, but only because the true fighting happened in the off-season, when the region’s major guilds united to crush an attempted eviction. Entering Season 29 with their coalition intact, the field settled quickly. All Rise built a commanding lead and never let it slip, while Stellar Alliance and PURE GOLD held steady behind them despite whispers of internal strain and guilds eyeing independence.

The finale delivered exactly what the standings foretold: All Rise secured their second gem, Stellar Alliance locked in second, and PURE GOLD completed the trio. Yet the stability feels temporary. With words of war once again brewing on Albion Asia, will the fighting last past the off-season and make it into the season itself? The storm is coming, and everyone knows it.

Albion Americas
For more than 2,700 days, Make Albion Great Again chased a title that always slipped away. Season 29 finally gave them the opening they’d waited nearly eight years for. They pushed into the lead early, holding firm through constant clashes with Rogue Natives and the turbulence between the N10 and BOBER alliances. As the finale approached, rumors spread that Rogue Natives might try to rally the server for one last attempt to stop Make Albion Great Again’s long-delayed ascent.

But when Invasion Day began, that plan collapsed instantly. Make Albion Great Again wiped Rogue Natives in under a minute as territories activated, then shut them down again at Murdergulch Gap before any counterattack could form. From there, the season had only one possible ending. Make Albion Great Again claimed their first-ever championship at last, with Rogue Natives in second and INTERDITS in third. After years of near-misses, persistence finally carried Make Albion Great Again across the finish line.

With Season 29 concluded, the Outlands feel more unsettled than resolved. Alliances frayed, grudges deepened, and many guilds now face the consequences of the choices they made along the way. Before the next season begins, congratulations go to our champions: Take Care, All Rise, and Make Albion Great Again!

Season 30 starts with a lot of unfinished business, and it won’t take long for those tensions to surface. Check out the full Season 30 schedule, and don’t forget to tune in to AlbionTV for live coverage as the new season unfolds. See you on the battlefield!
