Hot on the heels of our earlier announcement about the brand-new Steampunk Party level, we’ve got some very exciting news to share about Workshop support for Human Fall Flat.

Starting today, our talented creator community will be able to make use of a tonne of new tools - including the ability to create flying machines!

There’s plenty to unpack in the new update, but here are some of the technical highlights:

• Global Variable Nodes: A handy way to track specific states, such as whether a player has a key, or if certain objectives have been completed.

• Player Count in Trigger Volume: Helps builders create game mechanics based on how many players are in a specific area.

• Improved Three-Phase Motion Control: Allows players to create flying machines!

There are plenty of new cosmetic options to play around with too! 

Inside the update you’ll find some new items from Hike to help you create rich forest areas, not to mention nautical-themed objects from Underwater. You’ll now find all manner of mechanical contraptions from Tower, while budding golf course creators will find plenty to play with from Golf.

With more than 5,000 Workshop creations available to explore before today’s massive update, these new tags have been designed to help everyone jump straight into more of the content they love in Human Fall Flat.

We’ve got a brand new level lined up for you in today’s update, and what a special update it is!

We’re incredibly excited to announce that Party Animals’ very own Nemo & Otta are joining the Human Fall Flat crew in the game’s first ever crossover event. They’re making their debut in SteamPunk Party, the winning entry from China’s Human Fall Flat University Level Design Competition that took place earlier this year!

As well as introducing these very special guest stars to the Human Fall Flat universe, SteamPunk Party is - ahem - bursting at the steams with a devilish collection of new platforming puzzles for you and your friends to get stuck into.

To ascend the industrial clocktower at the heart of this new level, you’ll have to cautiously traverse conveyor belts, dodge steam jets whooshing out of broken pipes, and hop over wobbly platforms suspended high above the factory landscape. Struggling to reach the next ledge? Perhaps a little toot from the funnel of that steam train over there is just what you need to get moving…

The release of SteamPunk Party brings the official list of Human Fall Flat levels up to a whopping 31 entries! And if that’s not enough for all 55 million of you Humans out there, there are now more than 5,000 unofficial levels to explore in the Workshop too.

We hope you’re ready for a challenge, because Human Fall Flat’s Test Chamber level has been built from the ground up to push your problem-solving skills to the limit. Alone or with friends, you’ll have to think far outside the box if you’re to prove your worth as test subjects in the game’s 30th official level!

While the task in front of you is formidable, rest assured we’re giving you plenty of tools to play with as you tease your way through this chamber’s devilishly designed challenges.

After a few gentle brainteasers involving power shortages and pressure plates, the solutions ahead of you become a matter of perspective as you wield a special shrink ray to make the objects you discover just right for the problem at hand.

Mysterious coloured pyramids and strange mechanical contraptions must all be manipulated and put to clever use in this brain bending twist on the game you love. Rest assured though, you’ll still have to contend with the usual physics-based chaos of carefully balanced beams, crates, levers and switches!

There are plenty more surprises waiting for you in this massive upcoming level, but we’ll let you discover the rest for yourselves. It wouldn’t be much of a test if we gave too much away now, would it?

The Human Fall Flat University Level Design Competition has just concluded, with the winning entry set to join the game’s official roster of levels!

Hosted by No Brakes Games - and co-organised by Unity China, Curve Games and Yahaha Studios - the competition saw some of China’s biggest future gaming talents turn their hands to crafting the perfect Human Fall Flat level.

Overall winners Yu Yifei, Zhang Jie, Pan Dongjian, Cai Hanxi, and Dai Runyan collectively take home a $10,000 cash prize for their winning entry Steampunk Fantastic. You’ll be able to explore their world yourself when it launches later this year.

The other award-winning teams from across the competition’s categories will each receive cash prizes, certificates, commemorative medals, and exclusive gift packages from competition partners. They’ll also gain direct access to the Unity Dark Horse Program and Yahaha Incubation Program for industry support.

Get ready for a sugar rush with the release of a brand new level for Human Fall Flat, Candyland!



Step into this sweet new level and start exploring sugar crystal spires, marshmallows soft enough to munch on, a castle complete with crisp chocolate portcullis and a waffle-y devious selection of new obstacles to overcome!

To infiltrate this castle you’ll need to gingerly navigate seesaw platforms, use candycanes to slide down ziplines, ride waffle rafts down a chocolate river, bounce between the marshmallow blobs blocking your way - and plenty more besides!

With the recent launch of Human Fall Flat VR, we wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Festive period and share some exciting news!

First though, we want to thank you for all the feedback you’ve shared. It’s already helped us squash a handful of bugs and improve the playing experience for everybody. One thing that’s come through loud and clear from your feedback is how passionate many of you are about playing Human Fall Flat VR in first-person mode.

From the start of this project, we’ve been mindful of potential motion sickness given the physics-based nature of the game, that even a 3rd person view of Human's wobbly antics could cause. We spent time reviewing the game with hundreds of testers until we were satisfied the game was as fun and easy on the stomach as possible.

Despite these challenges, we’ve been experimenting with a first-person mode, which as a special festive treat, we are sharing with you all to enjoy over the Holiday period. It's very much a work-in-progress and far from finalised, and we want to caveat that it may never get past the prototype stage, but we have certainly had a lot of fun with it, and it may scratch that 1st person itch for a lot of you!



To access a version of the game on Steam with 1st person mode, select the experimental_branch in the Beta Participation menu. Please note that this is a single player only branch, not compatible with HFF VR multiplayer. Reverting to the official version of HFF VR will result in Steam redownloading the main version of the game.



We’ve set up an area for feedback on our Discord in a dedicated channel. We’d truly love to hear your thoughts. There is no guarantee that this mode will see an official release but in the event it is something we can offer in future, your feedback will be invaluable.
