Balance Changes

• Encounter XP is now scaled by level difference, the same as XP from destroying enemies.

Quality of Life / Accessibility

• Cleaned up Russian translation for some conflicting strings.

Bug Fixes

• Item drop container names now correctly retain their size regardless of camera zoom.

• Item drop container names now respect the HUD scale setting.

• Fixed bug where Stalker Missiles would cause PoolController.GetObject() null references.

• Fixed null reference in ShipPart.ToggleGlow() when saving settings as a ship explodes.

Hey,

just letting everyone know I am in fact working on the game almost every day. I have decided not to split the update after all, which might have been a bad decision statistics-wise, but it also means I can go for a soft relaunch upon the new update, which is practically finished now, apart from one NPC.

The update will contain, all that was promised, which I already have all done, as well as tons of other stuff I sort of came up with during development.

As is tradition, all of it is way more complex than I wanted it to originally, that´s why it took so long lol. The murder mystery got so spawling and interconnected with everything that at one point I wanted to make a separate ending for completing it, but I later decided for a more meaningful reward, so that you are motivated to complete it along with the main quest.

Tower Unite - MacDGuy

Hello and welcome to the Tower Unite Dev Log for October 21st, 2025!

It’s been a while since the last dev log, so we hope you all have been doing well.

Since the last Dev Log, we started the Halloween events for this year, started our Suki plush campaign, have been working on adjustments to unit payouts, and other fixes!

We’ve also been still making progress on our outside-of-Tower project and hope to have an announcement for that soon!

Halloween Events

Halloween events are ongoing in Tower, so hop in if you want to enjoy the seasonal festivities!

There are new items to celebrate the season including additions to the Victorian furniture set, spooky cosmetics, and much more!

We’ve also adjusted some pricing at the Ghoulcery story after player feedback, so enjoy discounted prices on profile backgrounds!

Makeship Suki Plush Campaign Started

The Suki plush is available to order from Makeship!

It’ll be available for a limited time so be sure to check it out if you’re interested!

Early Access Player Rewards

Early Access Player Items have been made to thank you players who have been with us from early on! These include:

  • Early Access Spray (The first animated spray!)

  • Early Access Plate

  • Early Access Hardhat

  • Early Access Catsack Plush

The catsack, when squeezed, will swing its pickaxe like the image it’s based on!

When the items are ready (which we’ll announce), these rewards will be automatically distributed to anyone who played before the Early Access release.

Optimizations

Lots of various optimizations were completed in regard to Arcade leaderboard screens, textures and skeletal meshes, lighting, and other areas of the Plaza!

We’ve made changes to reduce shadow calculation costs by adding a shadow proxy system.

As for Condos, we’ve gone through a lot of various and commonly used items and IO logic items and optimized them. We’re also working on a full Condo IO optimization pass behind the scenes, which we hope will reduce overall IO expenses in Condos.

Leaderboard Improvements

Behind the scenes, Sabrina has been working on a new way to load and display Leaderboards in-game to help improve performance in the Arcade and Boardwalk. This new leaderboard system displays the leaderboards to an image that can also be shared outside of the game as well!

Not only does the new leaderboard system help with performance (especially in the Arcade), but it also has built in mechanisms to prevent leaderboard cheaters from ever showing up.

VR Scaling

As we make progress on VR support, the scale of various Plaza store entrances has been adjusted for a better experience for VR players! These scale changes were made as we play tested VR and found several of the entrance ways or rooms to be a bit too cramped, something you can only notice while in VR.

Dark Voyage Fixes

With the spooky season in effect, we’ve been giving some love to Dark Voyage to improve the experience, fix bugs, and resolve some performance issues!

We’ve added more targets, specifically in the mansion and laboratory areas, fixed issues with sounds and post processing effects.

General Bug & Crash Fixes

Some general bugs were fixed with weapons, NPCs, T-Posing, the Nightclub Brightness setting, game pad buttons for tutorials, Halloween Event fixes, and much more.

Several crashes have been fixed, including a player model crash, a Condo sorting crash, several UI crashes, and an Arcade crash!

Payout Adjustments

We’ve been listening to player feedback on payouts in the game, and we are planning on doing a survey soon to get more direct feedback about payouts and pricing in Tower Unite.

For now, there have been some payout increases to Laser Tag, pricing adjustments to Ghoul Coin items, and plans to adjust SDNL as well as other Game World payouts.

Nimbus Art Pass

An art pass on Nimbus has been completed! Nuclearxpotato has been working on updating the look of this long-standing map to give it a fresh feel. Nimbus was the first level we created for Ball Race in Tower Unite and was long overdue on some love.

Various moving objects no longer have “programmer art” and have their own unique models.

Nimbus also now has its own bonus level, something that was missing from it compared to the other Ball Race maps.

SDNL Fixes

Various fixes were also made to some issues in SDNL, such as fixes to the BERT gun, disabling player collision, ragdolling, and announcement issues. We’re continuing to address issues with SDNL and are focused on bug fixes going forward. We are also investigating the invisible player spawn issues and weapon loadout issues for hosts.

Updated Rules

We’ve updated our Rules to be more clear and easier to read, and consolidated them on our Guides page so you can easily find it, along with clear guides on how to Report Players and Condos.

We’ll continue to keep the rules and report guidelines up-to-date so we can all keep Tower Unite a safe place for everyone to enjoy.

Full Release

Just wanted to say that we're more or less actively working on the full release for Star Chef Simulator! You can get some impressions below.

What's missing? You're right! The chef employee is still on my list, I'll start working on it during the next few weeks. Then there are some remaining bug fixes and hopefully I'll be able to address the annoying bug of employees being stuck on training courses and never coming back xD (didn't find the issue so far).

I'm also planning to maybe add something like a coffee machine to the final version? We'll see!

I'm hoping to get the full release done right before Christmas, but I still want to have some time for me and some very special other persons :)

It will be the following:

Developing → Internal Testing Bug Fixing + Feature Completion + Localization Playtesting Bug Fixing the 2nd Full Release (hopefully before Christmas) ✨

To release an optimized and great working version of the game as v1.0.0, we need playtesters! Hey Neighborhood Defenders! 

With PVZ: Replanted preparing to launch on all platforms on October 23rd we wanted to hop on here and share some of the latest work sprouting out of the Lawn. 

First and foremost we wanted to acknowledge that, several users were able to hop the backyard fence and see the upcoming game before its intended release date.  While we find it super exciting to see fans on the Lawn already, we hadn’t quite finished getting the lawn ready yet for our 10/23 launch date.  In fact, you will continue to see the game updated as the team is hard at work putting the final touches on the Lawn leading up to our global release.

That being said, this gave us another great opportunity to collect feedback from you, our fans on how we can continue to improve and make this game even better.  We heard you on wanting moments of authenticity and staying true to the original experience, and we couldn’t agree more! Plants vs. Zombies is a beloved IP that has seen hundreds of passionate artists and developers contribute to it over the past 16 years and as we work to bring that all together in PVZ: Replanted we want to make sure we are giving you the best experience possible. 

That means showing you original concept art and work that in some cases was created after Plants vs Zombies 1 launched in 2009. We did this to not only showcase Plants vs Zombies 1, but also the many more great Plants vs Zombies games it inspired. This legacy continues with our passionate team of artists, who continue to bring Plants vs. Zombies to life across the franchise. PVZ: Replanted has also remastered the original gameplay experience, which can be a delicate balance between making sure it feels like the original from 16 years ago while also making sure it operates in a modern context. We hear your feedback here and are already hard at work to deliver the game we all know and love specifically when it comes to the audio, and the more nuanced actions of our characters (looking at you Dr Z!). We’ve also seen some speculation about the use of generative AI, which is not used in PvZ Replanted.

We at PopCap couldn’t be more excited to enter into this next chapter of Plants vs. Zombies with PVZ: Replanted, and more importantly to work alongside our community as we build the future of Plants vs. Zombies for years to come. Stay tuned for more updates soon!
