Game Master Engine - DanTheDM

Hey everyone!

This update is a big one. The Steam Workshop is officially live! You can now share, browse, and download creations from other GME users directly through Steam. Whether you’re showing off your latest haunted graveyard map or exploring someone else’s elaborate dungeon, it’s never been easier to collaborate and inspire one another.

Here’s what’s new:

Steam Workshop Integration (Phase 1)

You can now upload and download content from the community!

  • Supports single map files and multi-map packs for now (more formats coming soon).

  • When uploading, GME provides a list of tags for you to choose from.

  • Featured uploads appear directly in the Steam Workshop tab in-game.

This is just Phase 1, future updates will expand support to characters, custom models, and campaigns once this foundation is rock solid.

Advanced Tooltip System

We’ve overhauled the tooltip experience from the ground up!

  • Hovering over any button or object now gives dynamic tips showing which inputs or actions you can take.

  • The goal is to make GME more intuitive and easier to learn, whether you’re a first-time DM or a returning veteran.

No more guessing what a button does, the engine now tells you before you click it!

Necropolis Content Pack

Things are getting spooky.

The Necropolis Pack adds over 100 new props to your library, featuring haunted crypts, cracked tombstones, gothic fences, and all the eerie decorations you need for a cursed town or graveyard adventure.

Perfect for horror one-shots, undead campaigns, or that spooky session you’ve been planning.

Thank you all for the continued support and feedback, this update marks a huge step toward Game Master Engine v1.0.

Hotel Luximinal - El

Patch Notes:

  • Simplified overall anomaly detection system across all levels.
    Heavy anomalies have been made more visible and easier to identify.

  • Good Ending Hitbox Fix:
    Resolved an issue where the crosshair remained visible after reaching the good ending.

  • Final Level Trigger Fix:
    The good ending now correctly triggers after completing the final level.

  • Crosshair Behavior Update:
    Fixed a bug causing the crosshair to stay visible after collecting the watch.

  • Bar Anomaly Fix:
    Corrected a leftover active anomaly that should have been removed after completion.

  • Director’s Office Simplification:
    Adjusted lighting and visuals for a clearer spatial layout and more focus on important parts.

  • Instagram Integration:
    Added direct access to the official Hotel Luximinal Instagram page via in-game link.

Glory On Pluto - LittleBigEars

This is yet another major patch! I’ve added several systems to the game, and reworked a few things. The balance is off at the moment (probably to your leaderboard standing’s benefit!), and there are some missing/lackluster art assets and sound effects, but it should be fairly stable otherwise.

Note: tutorials are out of date as of this demo and I’ve not had time to rework them. If you haven’t played before I’d still love to hear how you find the experience - feedback is the best way to improve player on-boarding in the future!

Major added features:
The Segment Modulator

A powerful new system has been added to the game. You can now Craft special Modulation Gems to apply potent boosts to specific engine segments. The challenge lies in using Filter Tokens to manage which items you can apply these combinations to.

Waypoint System

Space is big. I’ve added in a Waypoint system between planets - meet interesting characters and gain random bonuses from them. Your boosts will be replenished at each Waypoint!

Nudge Module

Got some items that just won’t quite line up? Nudges are a sparse and powerful tool that allow you to rotate a single ring in your engine to line up your synergies as best as possible. You won’t get many, but they’ll replenish at each Planet you reach!

Leaderboards

Time to see who’s the Glory-est of all with Leaderboards! They will probably need to be reset at some point, but for now I’m excited to see how much you can break them.

Achievements

I’ve also added in some Achievements! These will probably change at a later date and are currently missing art… but they’re still worth hunting for!

Permanent Upgrades

You can now level up as you play! Gain Renown points over your runs and use them to upgrade your ship with new modules and starting bonuses!

Crew Redesign

I’ve reworked how the crew work to be less passive - Their powers now scale and change based on your current engine layout! For example, a crew member's effect might now give 5 Power for every Wood fuel in your engine, rather than a static 10 Power per item.

Smaller features(but still good ones!):
Better tracking of synergies

When items line up with a synergy, they’ll now make some pretty animations at each other so you can see what’s going on!

New Backgrounds

Space is… pretty boring in real life. I’ve added in a new background system to bring life to it with rolling Nebulas that follow you through your Journeys.

New Music

I loved the original music in the game, but it was the only part that I hadn’t handcrafted myself. I’ve added some new background music to the game - I’d love to hear what you think!

Swords 'n Magic and Stuff - Kindred

Welcome to this year's Witch's Eve event!

The event will run until November 4th! Get out there, smash some pumpkins, rattle some skeletons and trick or treat to your heart's content!

Here are the patch notes for the update:

1.9.3.0 - Witch’s Eve

New:

  • Sixth Annual Witch’s Eve Event!

  • Vellen has a surprise for you after you’ve finished his quest

  • New vendor visits Sleepy Haven now (She sticks around for a while for Witch’s Eve)

  • New aim assist feature in settings menu

  • New helmet found in Sleepy Haven blacksmith shop

  • New fade potion to reduce threat for multiplayer and future dungeon/skill tree usage (enemies are less likely to target you)

  • You can now dismiss your companion by holding F on them (when they’re not knocked out)

  • New secret mount ; )

Fixed:

  • Frostfall weapons can no longer be bound with binding runes to keep Frostfall fights balanced and challenging

  • Darvish in the Emeralite mine now takes your bribe

  • Fixed an issue where clients couldn’t see their companion’s health bars

  • Fish collection now properly saved between sessions

  • Cleaned up an issue when cycling loadouts and incorrect stat stacking/removal

  • Grimwick’s Cauldron can now be used again after another player completes the quest

  • Bald characters no longer grow hair when putting hats on

  • Fixed an issue where staves were doing minimal damage randomly

  • Options menu properly shows the difficulty level you chose on character creation

  • Fixed a bunch of issues with first person

  • Fixed an issue where food/drink buffs weren’t properly being reset when applied before they wore off

  • Fixed an issue with a disappearing tome in the Hunt for the Tome quest in Windless Woods

  • You can no longer get locked out of inventories in multiplayer.

  • Buried chests are now properly randomized each day

  • Fixed an issue with fishing not playing the hooked sound effect

  • Fishing leaderboards fixed again?

  • Rainbuckets no longer stop working after being emptied

  • Fishing leaderboards no longer cause the fishing tutorial tip to pop up

  • Talking to an NPC while casting a fishing rod no longer locks you into the cast animation

  • Fixed more ladders - Be cautious when climbing them though. Approach face on.

  • Order staves and healing spells now properly heal companions

  • HUD now properly updates your ammo when you pick up more

  • Fixed some saving issues with the new item display customizations

  • Deep Iron Dagger is no longer red

  • Fixed a few minor issues with binding runes

  • Mail from Jonah now properly gets delivered on dedicated servers (I hope)

Improved:

  • Overhauled the buff bar to more accurately display all buffs

  • Removed lucky from Astronomer’s Tea

  • Reduced elemental damage reduction/bonuses from 50% bonus to 20% bonuses to prepare for skill tree effects

  • Rain no longer prevents all fire damage

  • All magic fire is now “Arcane” fire and will continue to burn through the wet status

  • Resilience now caps at 80% damage resistance at high levels (30+)

  • Bow base damage dropped from 50% bonus to 25% bonus for balancing purposes

  • Refactored some projectile aim code to feel better and be more forgiving

  • Sapling staff found on Azura is now a druid staff

  • Conjure Mending Fairy spell is now a druid spell and earns druid experience

  • Added a warning that first person mode is not recommended and no longer supported

  • Can now change your ping keybinding

  • Patty now has some better mystery pot dialog

  • Xanthus’ quest has been removed temporarily until I have time to rebuild it - If you still have it you should abandon it. It can’t be turned in
