❄ Demo V0.2.5 Patch Notes ❄

This update revamps cooking, improves survival balance, adds clearer feedback (icons, flashes, SFX), and fixes several crashes and edge cases. Thanks for all the reports and playtime!

Gameplay

  • Cooking revamped: food is now cooked directly at the campfire instead of via crafting.

  • Added Frozen Potable Water and Frozen Unsafe Water.

  • Removed Day 1 midnight campfire auto-extinguish event (to avoid confusion).

  • Activities rebalanced: timings now feel more realistic
    (e.g., drinking water now takes 3 minutes instead of 15 — no more leisurely sipping!).

  • Small carcasses (rat, squirrel, fox) are now movable.

  • Partial harvests enabled for fallen/dead trees and large carcasses (bear, wolf, fox) instead of one massive 4h+ action.

  • Campfire warmth increased by 5°C to avoid freezing near fire.

  • Bedroll warmth buffed to prevent freezing while sleeping.

  • Crash Site exploration cap removed.

  • Woods: guaranteed minimum of 2 item types per explore, improved wood drop rates, and capped at 1 cigarette butt.

  • Torch objective renamed from “Equip” to “Light.”

  • Starter Campfire now defaults to Torch as the first item.

  • Tool order for opening cans updated.

UI/UX

  • Objectives system:

  • Completed objectives cannot be re-added as active.

  • Completed objectives now auto-collapse.

  • Objective text auto-scales to fit.

  • Tooltip system overhauled: tooltips auto-fit text length (afflictions, sleep, categories, wiki, etc).

  • Insufficient material/tool tooltip now links to Wiki on click.

  • Harvested items auto-scroll into view in loot containers.

  • Over-encumbrance icon added to top-right afflictions panel.

  • Needs/conditions indicators added:

    • Up/down arrows show changes each turn.

    • Flashing warnings when needs/conditions <25%.

  • Flashing icon for over-encumbrance.

  • Sleep popup description updated; warmth bonus/punishment displayed.

  • Card movement controls improved:

    • Existing Shift + drag and Shift + right-click still work.

    • Added middle mouse click to move a whole stack.

    • Added right-click + drag to move a whole stack.

  • BGM volume reduced across the board; Crash Site music made less piercing.

  • Added dusk and morning SFX.

  • Added SFX + notification when items break or rot.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed dragging cards left↔right multiple times sometimes freezing the game.

  • Fixed equipped items being incorrectly counted toward backpack carry weight.

  • Fixed crafting with multiple firewood types not auto-switching when one type is consumed.

  • Fixed pluralization issue on hrs/mins labels.

  • Fixed completed objectives monologue missing punctuation.

  • Fixed tooltip persistence after hovering buttons (location/crafting/affliction/equipment).

  • Fixed food poisoning bug that incorrectly increased sanity drain rate when triggered multiple times.

  • Updated various event monologues; added new ones when needs are depleted.

  • Fixed a bunch of VFX related issues

  • Fixed issue where the materia gun would show G to drop in tutorial

  • Made repair animation synch properly between players

  • Fixed UI icons for LMG and galaxy map pod

  • Changed the Ready Up hint to not block other VO/subtitles

Design
  • The missile launcher power plug is bigger, reduced its damage by 20%. Each missile cost ammo now

  • Added new jump map visualizers for galaxy map buoys

  • Buddy Bot will aim better with railguns and slightly better with assault cannons

And a bunch of other fixes and optimizations so game works better 🙂
