MotorSlice is one of the top 50 most played demo at the October Steam Next Fest! As a tiny indie, this is WILD.

But with so many people playing with P, some weird bugs also appear, so I'm releasing a small patch, mostly bug fixes:

  • A bug making the CONTINUE button enabled when there’s no save created, making you start the game on a blank level. I was only aware of this 2 days ago, and I apologize anyone who got this problem. Really frustrating.

  • A bug preventing the combat arena wall to deactivate

  • Added lock-on on the boss

  • Jump distance is now by how long you hold the jump and by speed

  • You don't loose speed when motorslicing

  • Reduced some camera movements when you disable camera bob

  • Fix some minor bugs

  • Tweaks on the the gameplay magnetism

The demo will stay here, so don't worry. Also I don't plan on keep updating the demo from now on, and just focus on finishing the game! While I don't have a release window yet, the game is almost done!

this is the first “downstreamed from main game” patch, and I’ll only list changes that the dungeon demo content would see.

Fixes & Improvements
  • fixed mobs not stopping chase even when the target should be lost

  • deferred instantiation of decorative objects across frames

  • “origin forest” map is larger, has more trees, and thus takes longer to generate (not really an improvement for now)

  • fixed passive mobs not being passive — turns out a previous smarter bt implementation was overwriting the passive bt

  • gamepad interact prompt now properly shows on all intended objects

  • implemented gamepad dialog ui interaction — you can now use d-pad to choose dialog branches and go through dialogs using gamepad (except when a text input shows up mid-dialog)

  • fixed dialog camera jittering issue

  • disabled spell casting during dialog

  • managed layering between pause menu and dialog ui

  • hud ui now takes a modified set of css (uss) rules when gamepad is active, as an experimental feature to test input-device-specific ui

King of Meat - timmyopa

Score twice as many Stamps in daily events, weekly events, and seasonal triumphs in the Double Stamp Rewards Event from October 21 through November 4. Simply finish in a top leaderboard placement when the leaderboard resets to receive your extra rewards. We’re also releasing our second update featuring various quality of life improvements to gameplay, Discovery, and Create Mode for a smoother experience on your Road to Stardom.

Downtime will begin on October 22 at 6AM PT (1:00PM UTC) and is expected to last 5 hours. Check out the full list of changes, including the Double Stamp Rewards Event.

Double Stamp Rewards

Further bolstering the latest in Loregok looks are special Halloween items available at Beast Shall Ride (BSR) in exchange for Stamps. Stamps are a form of currency that can be earned through gameplay, including events and Triumphs. If you’re eyeing any of the limited time cosmetics in the BSR shop, you’ll want to complete more daily events, weekly events, and weekly seasonal Triumphs for extra Stamps. Stamps can also be obtained from the Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam stores.

Here’s the full breakdown of Double Stamp Rewards by activity. Please note, daily events and weekly seasonal Triumphs are solo activities, while weekly events are for 2 to 4 Contenders. Time remaining before daily or weekly resets will always be visible in-game next to the relevant activity.

Daily Event Rewards

Daily events are accessible through the giant King of Meat sign in Ironlaw Plaza. To join, select the Specials tab at the top of the King of Meat Live Channels. Top solo performances in either Slay of the Day and Dungeon of the Day will offer additional Stamps based on the following placements. Excel in both daily events for even more rewards.

  • 1: 16 Stamps

  • 2: 14 Stamps

  • 3-5: 12 Stamps

  • 6-10: 8 Stamps

  • 11-20: 2 Stamps

Weekly Event Rewards

Weekly events are found in the same location as daily events. Navigate to the Specials tab after entering the giant King of Meat sign from Ironlaw Plaza. You can then team up with frenemies for a chance to earn twice as many Stamps in the Koliseum Cup.

  • 1: 92 Stamps

  • 2: 88 Stamps

  • 3: 84 Stamps

  • 4: 80 Stamps

  • 5: 76 Stamps

  • 6-10: 34 Stamps

  • 11-20: 8 Stamps

  • 21-30: 4 Stamps

Gameplay
  • Hoop switches now display the soft lock target.

  • Mods are now displayed during dungeon intros in both Live Event and Solo modes.

  • Gameplay and Glory modifiers are now visible on the “Play” screen when selecting a playlist

  • Fixed instances where bombs would not spawn when certain mods were active in a Slay of the Day dungeon.

  • Improved camera behaviour to prevent it from clipping through dungeon geometry.

  • Hammer – the Rage mechanic no longer consumes excessive energy when activated.

  • Various improvements for weapons that would sometimes cause the wrong move to trigger.

  • Fixed instances of slowdown effect on players when performing a jump + special attack.

Dungeons
  • Various fixes and improvements to a variety of League Dungeons.

  • Removed exploits found in Weapon Training levels.

  • Reduced the amount of gold earned in the Hammer Training level.

  • MrBeast event content now has the option to “Play Again” on failing.

Create Mode
  • Thermometer no is no longer added to certain rooms and objects in Create Mode.

  • Fixed instances of dungeons failing to correctly validate on completion.

  • Fixed instances of crashes occurring in Create Mode when changing to props mode.

  • Updated logic connections on doors so that they have both opening / opened states.

  • Rebalanced kill planes in some dungeon rooms.

  • Blood doors will now disregard enemy spawners that do not trigger correctly.

  • Various objects have improved tweakers.

Discovery
  • Fixed issues where Discovery lists would refresh every few seconds and change the order of content whilst browsing,

  • Bookmarked dungeons now have their own tab in Discovery.

  • Improved Discovery visual layout.

  • Added Following tab so that players can see what their favourite creators have published in one place.

Shops
  • Fix for affinity ranks not appearing correctly on PS5.

  • Updated Zark Tongworth artwork.

  • Fixed instances of crashes occurring interacting with shops.

  • Fixes for various poses and item previews in shops

Other
  • Fixed issues on PS5 that caused delays when changing matchmaking or making social interactions.

  • Fixed various issues that caused names of other contenders to take a while to appear.

  • Fixed missing trophy scores in the Beast Dungeon Events.

  • Updated a few setting strings for remapping Glory Moves on some platforms.

  • Localised VO/subtitle lines were updated for some cinematics.

  • Fixed issues that would sometimes cause players to not spawn back outside the Koliseum when returning from a dungeon.

  • Fixed instances of certain triumphs not completing correctly.

  • Fix for end of dungeon triumphs not appearing when playing in public matchmaking.

  • Equipped body/word thoughts now update correctly when returning to inventory.

  • Various improvements to leaderboards.

The region merge for North America has arrived! The merge will begin tonight during the weekly maintenance at 12AM PT (7AM UTC). We are currently estimating total downtime for the North American regions to be 20hrs. For the European region, we estimate that downtime will last 8hrs.

If you’re currently a resident of the North American regions being merged, learn about our plans for structuring servers, along with the planned compensation, gifts, and more!

NA Server Structure

Our teams at Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG have been collaborating in-person on some region merge magic to create the best possible experience for players post-merge. While the servers of North America West and East will be connected into one in-game region, the game worlds will remain in their original server locations. This will allow players to enjoy the positive aspects of the merge, such as a combined Auction House and Market, and new players to forge relationships within raid/dungeon groups, while mitigating concerns around latency/ping. Players will continue to enjoy the same experience while in their world, and you can learn more about the matchmaking/party-finder experience for instanced content below. For players joining from NA West, please note that the Auction House and Market will be hosted out of NA East, so players with high latency may notice slight lag in extreme circumstances.

Dungeon/Raid Experience

Immediately following the merge, we will be implementing a temporary ruleset for all instanced content (raids, dungeons, etc.). This temporary ruleset will be replaced with an improved version during the November Update, which will stay in-game as the planned final ruleset featuring different rules for matchmaking and party-finder.

Temporary Ruleset (October - November) for matchmaking and party-finder

  • Instances will default to NA East for lobbies with players from different worlds.

  • If the lobby has 8 players from Brelshaza, the lobby will be created in Brelshaza.

  • If the lobby has 8 players from Thaemine, the lobby will be created in Thaemine.

  • However, if players from both Brelshaza and Thaemine are in a mixed lobby, they could still enter an instance hosted in NA East.

Final Ruleset (Planned for the November Update)

  • Party-Finder: Instance will be created in the world of the lobby leader.

  • Matchmaking:

    • A full group of players from the original NA West worlds will have an instance created in NA West.

    • A full group of players from the original NA East worlds will have an instance created in NA East.

    • A mixed group of players will default to NA East. For players that rely on ping to NA West (such as those connecting from Oceania) we recommend using the party-finder tool to ensure they can find or create a lobby that best meets their needs.

We’re excited for the opportunities this will create for players to be able to play together while still having control and agency over their raid and dungeon experience, and will be on the lookout for feedback to ensure it is best meeting the needs of our community.

Back-up Plan

While testing has looked extremely promising for this custom solution leading up to the merge, we are preparing a back-up plan of hosting the Brelshaza and Thaemine Servers in NA East to avoid ongoing extensions of the region merge maintenance. If we need to proceed with the back-up plan, it could result in an additional maintenance. Afterward, we will continue to investigate the solution with NA West and NA East hosted servers that are connected, and identify a future window to make the change. We will provide updates and ensure the community is made aware of the status and result as we proceed through the merge.

General Merge Notes
  • While based in NA West, Brelshaza and Thaemine will need to share the same server time as the other worlds in the region, so they will be updated to NA East timing.

  • It may take up to one hour for the NA West Crucible Leaderboard information to display after servers are up from the merge, due to the server refreshing rankings hourly.

  • We’ll be on the lookout for feedback regarding the post-merge experience. If you encounter issues or have feedback, please let us know!

After the Merge

Merge Compensation

The following compensation gift will be available in the in-game shop \[F4] for players in the merged region at no cost:

There will also be a 1-day Azena’s Blessing compensation sent to each character in the merged region with Azena’s Blessing active during the merge. This compensation will be sent in the next week or two, once the data for the impacted characters has been collected. We appreciate your patience in the meantime!

Along with the merge compensation available for only players in North America, a gift will be sent to players in all regions, which can be claimed in the Product Inventory after the merge. The gift will contain:
