We are delighted to invite you on Tuesday, the 1st of August, to celebrate the release of our new Oklahoma DLC, by taking part in our latest World of Trucks event - Cruising Oklahoma! From mountain ranges and forests, over prairies and savannas to creeks and rivers, you'll explore the diverse landscape and economy of this incredible state.
We are asking our #BestCommunityEver to achieve the community goal of driving 111,000,000 miles (178,637,184km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Oklahoma. While #CruisingOklahoma and enjoying the beautiful landscape it is also worth knowing that it is home to a wide variety of animals and insects, like the common honey bee and Black Swallowtail butterfly, two national state symbols that are important for Oklahoma's biodiversity. The state holds populations of bear and fox in the mountains, as well as the prairie dog and the iconic American bison in the prairie regions.
Oklahoma is also known as the "Sooner State", symbolizing the energetic, progressive can-do spirit. Truckers can look forward to exploring many new industries, like delivering iconic, yellow School Bus parts to the bus factory, Big Tires for machinery from the tire factories in Ardmore and Lawton, or Yard Trucks that are needed at Tulsa Airport.
During your journey through Oklahoma, you can look forward to many beautiful views and highlights such as:
Gloss Mountain State Park, unique natural landmark with mesas in north western Oklahoma
Tulsa, metropolis center for energy, aerospace, and technology
McAlester, picturesque historical city in East Oklahoma
Beavers Bend State Park, beautiful park in the mountainous region of south east Oklahoma
Hugo Lake Spillway, dam on the Kiamichi River in south east Oklahoma
As with past cruising events, you can use your own trailer and experience all these in the external market!
Oklahoma DLC is offering 10 fantastic new cities to explore, and we have a special reward for completing your personal goal, which will require you to deliver a job to or from all 10 cities of Oklahoma. All jobs for the event need to be 100 miles each (161 km) or more.
Join our journey with the newest DLC of American Truck Simulator and set out on a trip over high plains, prairies and low wetlands, while discovering the unique factories and industries of Oklahoma! Get ready for a terrific ride through the Sooner State!

You don’t just have access to several types of woods but also a variety of minerals.
The most common resource you will find is stone. You can collect stones basically everywhere and you need them for many things, however it isn't as important as wood.
Another resource is clay, it can be found near flowing water and muddy places. Clay is crucial in steel and charcoal production, the backbones of smithing.
Because deposits you may encounter vary in size the basic requirement to mine them also varies. Better tools are imperative to gain materials from larger deposits. Here’s where iron, the precious metal ore, comes in. You will need iron in ample amounts to produce better quality tools and weapons. You can improve your iron production by building a structure to process mined ore. Only then your villagers will happily take the burden off you.
You may also collect a mysterious resource (one that everyone loves) and store it. Guess what it will be?

A while ago we revealed that one of the big visual differences between Brigador Killers and the previous game is the increased output resolution of sprites. This increase in fidelity means you the player will get a closer look at exported models in-game. If you'd like a longer read on the topic of how these models become sprites then consider reading this other article from Brigador's news hub.
Getting a closer look means we get to focus on the infantry scale of things. In that spirit, we're going to run you through how an all-new spacer suit for Brigador Killers goes from concept to final sprite render.
The first step is what's called the mood board. This is the conceptual framework where the artist references the mood, texture and detailing that we want to evoke with the spacer power suit.
Step two is the adapt or "kitbash" stage. Seeing as we've already developed a powersuit for Clade Vocc (not pictured), in 3DSMax, we extrapolate a suit design to help suggest how mainline spacers are still related, though considerably drifted away from in both culture and military doctrine.
The third step is the paintover in photoshop. With a basic suit layout in hand, we think about how we are going to change and treat the design. Returning briefly to the mood board's astronaut references, we decide on a cloth-covered suit. At this stage the helmet is unsatisfactory, but that will get revised later.
Once we have arrived at a satisfactory model of the suit, the finished design is then broken down into components for baking down and then texturing in Substance Painter. The final sprite render shown in the bottom right corner of the above image is done in Blender. Here is the finished suit as a render (click here to open a full size version in your browser).
As a bonus, a scene was composed using the model of this new spacer powersuit, which was used as the header image for this article. You can get a wallpaper sized version by clicking here, with deference to American digital painter Craig Mullins for this piece.
Get ready for a whole new game adventure, new tools, new mechanics - stethoscope, Ultrasound scan, X-ray, microscope, and sample analyzer, perform a variety of treatments for various diseases - and much more! 😍
But but... 👀
